joespec
06-17-2003, 08:56 PM
Jarc,....if you get your hands on an oval car,or already own one,you would have a blast to run at Tuffy's! It's an awesome track for sure! I saw you working on the K-mart track saturday morning,as I was passing by,working.......hat's off to you,and the others for striving for racing enjoyment! You really could borrow an oval car,if you had to. There aren't too many short-tracks that you can run to the firewall, until the buzzer goes off,....that is,if you are set-up right....

Tuffy's is fast and is real pro. I turned my steering down all the way. Awesome track. Look forward to running there more in the future.

Those pits look nicer than most of the homes I've lived in!

Tuffy when are you running again?

I would like to start a Jacksonville-wide point series for Pro Spec.
best 8 out of 12 for a complete series, four at each venue. I think this would bring more people out to each track on a regular basis. Let me know what you think.

We should be racing this coming Saturday. I think the vacations are over with?We should have some news regarding____________ coming up in the near future.I've got plenty of Legends bodies and parts.

BullFrog

Talked with Tuffy last night. As long as Mother nature lets us- will be racing. There track does dry out quickly and with our crazy weather it can be raining down the street and not at the track. The up coming news will have to officially wait until Leon gets back in town. But a sneak preview- it will possibably involve qualifying for _________.
It will be very interesting....................

Racing was fast a furious at Palm Valley last night. The Legends class outnumber the oval cars.To everyone's suprise we had David Butts show up. He was given Leons Legends with a fluorescent paint scheme(like the old days) to race.He hasn't missed a beat as they say. There were also two drivers in the legends class turning in a 54 lap run- Joe and our new track record holder Tom Pedano(?).
We will be running again next saturday night. Check back for more info later this week. The talk about qualifying for______________ has started.

Hey guys I had a blast lastnight. I never thought I'd be holding a transmitter(backwards at that) in an actual race so quick after deciding to get back into the racing deal only a couple of weeks ago.

I'm hooked again just like it was 1979 all over again(eeks, I'm that old?)anyway once again I apologize for anyone I took out on one of my trips to the wall. Hope I didnt mess up Leons race setup too bad. The car actually drove pretty good it's just sssslllllooowwww.

Betwenn Tom and Joe sucking all the paint off of it I was surprised there was any left after that main. Hey I was in the "A" main in my first race back  . I'm still astounded at the advancements the hobby has made. I got home about 11:30 and went straight to the garage and started looking at my old legends car with ,yep you guessed it a flourescent paint job. Oh boy!

Its especially nice to see old friends faces(and all our ever expanding bellies)and to be welcomed back to a hobby I missed more than I was aware of. In the last three weeks or so I've been to three area racing venues and I have seen atleast one or more old friends at each.

Now we've got the core of the oldtimers racing again. It was great watching those legends(cars and drivers) compete last night.Next weekend should be just as much fun with a well rested Leon coming back from vacation. It's amazing the thing we fround out about his legends while Butts was using it.
