cneyedog 04-18-2003, 05:44 PM BULLFROG: And finally something new for me-99% chance you'll see me racing a NON-Bolink Pan car for the first time in 12years

BullFrog 04-18-2003, 11:01 PM Got a new 10L4.I've never owned an Associated pan car much less bought one from a real hobby shop.It won't be ready for tommorrows race I still need some parts.I'll get them at Tuffy's.See you guys around...................
katf1sh 04-18-2003, 11:41 PM another sheep! lol good for you bill! now when you dont do well your gonna have to blame it on something else? lolol bill fraden a full blown oval head! wow! dont anyone pinch me!
BullFrog 04-19-2003, 06:47 AM Katfish- I'm not 100% converted yet- I'm an R/C addict and I've got to race. But it is strange looking in the mirror and saying I'm going to go somewhere to race oval.I haven't given up on-road yet- I'm still racing 1/12th.Even trying to make plans for the nationals in June.
BullFrog 04-20-2003, 04:18 PM Just to let everyone know : the first under the lights racing went well.A new 4 cell 19t track record was set by Tuffy with 60 laps. Bear also turned in a 60 lapper. My new car wasn't ready yet so I made this the fairwell race for my Bolink car.Next Saturday night we will again run under the lights. That's right we willbe racing next Saturday night. Also saw the new improved BRP1/18th car- awesome - maybe some day we can race them.See you next Saturday night!
katf1sh 04-20-2003, 05:58 PM holy smokes! nice run tuffy..bear you need to pick up the pace! lol
katf1sh 04-21-2003, 08:23 PM tuffy when you get the bubba burgers and some foot long dogs i'll find my way back up there! lol again guys if you haven't got the chance to see the track or meet tuffy and his dad you are missing out. just a fun group of racers and clean pits. that bucci guy is shady though! lol
hey guys lets try to pack the house @ tuffys this saturday.they are using all of the money from sign ups for improving the track and new pit area.come out and show your support.bear!
BullFrog 04-24-2003, 12:16 PM Katfish when you talk that left on Tom Collins just make a hard left again into the Burger King. Then come to the track with a full tummy. But leave the drink at BK as they (Tuffy) now also has the Boylan Drinks cold.
I will also be racing my new Associated L4 for the first time.It should be finished by tonight.See you Saturday at the races............
joespec 04-25-2003, 06:18 AM Bullfrog,....in the spectrum of R/C racing, isn't it all about the same? I mean, you are a good driver for sure! And you like to go left and right,so oval should be a natural for you,it's just less work, that's all! ( unless your car is ill-handling,you might a get a little right-hand work too  )I'm glad to see you finally enjoying for a change! After tugging trailers, setting up and tearing down, backing in without hitting the house, the politics, the crap,etc,......isn't it just FUN now? Welcome home Bill! Kind of like a swiming pool in the fall, you get in,and after you chip a few teeth from the chattering,it's not so bad.
rain rain go away come back on any day except RACE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
metrodog 04-25-2003, 03:56 PM Mark it on your calender and take a picture, bill is going to drive something besides a bolink lead sled!!!! LOL
Greg
joespec 04-26-2003, 07:32 AM Bill is a good builder,...whenever I have had the chance to drive one of his cars, they are real smooth! So he should be faster than one would expect, seeing as though he is an oval convert. Took awhile to bring him away from the darkside.
BullFrog 04-26-2003, 09:31 AM Thanks for the complement Joe but? This new Associated isn't going together like I want it to.It's coming out today but It's nowhere ready to be competitive. When the carpet comes all I'll be racing is 1/12th road course.Trying to go to the on-road nationals in June.
joespec 04-26-2003, 11:23 AM Well,if you are going to try the new car,you could always run 4-cell stock with us,we'd be glad to run with you,and that class is just a little less hairy than mod.
cneyedog 04-26-2003, 11:35 AM Bill, you might want to take joe up on the 4 cell stock idea ....... the daytona gang ....me, katfish, ed, troy, tony and billy bruce all ran 4 cell stock over in tampa with boylan and the west coast guys and had a blast! .... its slower than 4 cell 19t and 6 cell stock .....but just as much fun......ALOT easier on motors and tires as well. Consider that when "breaking in" a new car.
have fun .... seeya when carpet season is upon us :D

BullFrog 04-27-2003, 12:09 PM Thanks guys but I just read your replies this morning (Sunday). HoweverI did just that ran stock.First I gave the car to Tuffy to set up.Each Qualifier I and the car got better.Stock is different as any mistake will cost you speed so your driving will have to be on top.My only other problem after getting up at 5:00a.m. in the morning the later it gets the harder it is to see. After last night I now have a stock motor - won it in the raffle.Gave it to Bear to tune it up for next weekend.
By the way the racing last night was great.Ernie turned in quite afew 3.8 laps. We did experience one major computer glitch in the 19t main-power (with a ups) went out in the middle of the main. That is going to be corrected with a new line for the computer next week. The following main it worked great.
The gang also introduced the spec cars like they run them at HW. They ran very good and we hope they will continue to run.Legends is also running strong but not me.We will also come up with a claiming rule on motors and batteries for Legends for next weekend.
Also on the news We'll start enforcing the ROAR rules with no open shoes (sandels) allowed. and ROAR membership. Have a great week and get ready for some round-de-round racin'
shawnleary 04-27-2003, 02:26 PM Nice track Tuffy. keep up the good work. Are Friday nights in the future?
Shawn
BullFrog 04-27-2003, 09:43 PM I don't think so.
joespec 04-27-2003, 10:04 PM Tuffy's was a great time for sure! I want to thank Bill,Tom,and Bear for their help! I learned alot from saturday night, the fast way around the track is quite unique, and it is also hard to keep that line every lap! But that's the plan from now on. Batteries are more important here than what I thought, and it figures that my spec car would be faster than anything else that I have run there. Thanks to Tuffy, and his family, the improvements to the facility are impressive for sure! Always a good experience there! My wife made the comment to me that the attitude there, is that they are having guests over, and they go out of their way to make sure that everyone feels welcome, and that they are having a good time! Tuffy, and his family are truly good people, and anyone who can get the chance to go and race there should do so,for you will not find a better place to be in R/C anywhere!
joespec 04-27-2003, 10:11 PM Bill,it wasn't me with the sandels this time  You shouldn't walk with your head down so much to see people's feet, your car was faster than mine anyway:lol: I know who wore the outlaw shoes, and I thought to myself," he gonna get pimped out by Bill" ,even if it is Florida. :freak: Seriously, you did good with a new car! 3 qualifiers was a good call too! Are you going to run 4-cell stock next saturday?
irvan36mm 04-27-2003, 11:05 PM Thanks Tuffy,Leon,Bear & Bill for a great time, also! It was good to see Spec cars running at the track. It was also good to see Greg doing the Spec aerobatics for once, instead of me! Shawn & I were too busy doing the pyro show of sparks around the track! Also, special thanks to Tuffy & Bear for tips in getting my 4-cell stock in order. Thanks to Greg for lending the motor! See you all next Saturday!
-George
joespec 04-28-2003, 04:34 AM Concrete does draw alot of sparks,...doesn't it? Kind of like a grinder wheel.
BullFrog 04-28-2003, 06:35 AM Joe I didn't have to have my head looking at the ground - Just sitting at the computer is eye level with the drivers stand.Yes I will be racing stock next weekend- won the motor in the raffle. The car will also be fixed- minor first running things.
The claiming or protesting rule for Legends and Spec cars: $20.00 for motors and 15.00 for 4 cell packs and _____ for 6 cell packs( to be determined saturday). What we are thinking: if someone wants to protest a motor we will take all the motors in that heat or main and examine them. They will all be put on the dyno if needed. We will take the average of all the other motors and compair it to the protested motor and a go from there.
Sorry.. was going to post something about the claim/protest rule. But its not my track to comment/make rules on. So i'll leave it alone.
Anyway.... Keep up the good work guys.
glad to see everyone had a good time.jarc tell us how you feel,we need feed back......bear
joespec 04-28-2003, 09:43 PM Bear,....what we got for rules in spec at HW is this,.....open gearing, back of body cut out,2" deck spoiler,"S" or"R" brush, any brush spring, spec tire, any battery connector allowed, but no hardwiring.Does this sound good to you for Tuffy's? If we keep the deal the same for both tracks,it shouldn't be any problem to have everyone show up as often as they can,and get more racers still.
Bear, I talked to Bill today and got it figured out with him. It was mostly my mis-understanding of the claim rule. Bill got me dialed in on the details and how it works.
metrodog 04-28-2003, 10:00 PM Bear and Tuffy,
Had a great time and specs run great there! Jason said he'd try to make the next one and I think shawn is addicted already! See ya sat again!
Greg
joespec 05-02-2003, 04:32 AM Who all is going to Tuffy's for spec action? Metro, maybe Jason,me,Bear and Tuffy might have theirs ready too........... might? That's funny, they have probably shot a few sparks already, waiting for a few victims. My sponsor has to work both friday night and saturday too (wife)so I get to play,.......Seeya!
BullFrog 05-02-2003, 06:59 AM I hope your still planing to run 4 cell stock.
irvan36mm 05-02-2003, 09:13 AM Joespec-
I'm there,w/Spec & 4-cell stock in hand! C-ya!

joespec 05-03-2003, 06:01 AM Two races in one weekend! I love my sponsor,(wife) and I love Jax.
BullFrog 05-03-2003, 07:14 AM Joe that's alot of love for Jax- remember next weekend is payback- Mothers Day.See you later...

joespec 05-04-2003, 07:42 AM Last night was a blast! Thank you's go to Tuffy,he helped me out alot on my car so I wouldn't be a speed-bump in the "B",Thank you Bear,Greg, and George! The spear-mint car got alot faster, and it was good to actually mix it up for positions, for a change. Thanks go to my sponsor too,she bought me a battery pack! (true love) gotta find her a hat now. Seeya
BullFrog 05-04-2003, 01:26 PM Joe since when does your batteries come in a McDonalds bag with Fries? We'll all take batteries like that........Great racing in all classes.Just when I get my Legends running right Tom doesn't show.May it will hold together next weekend and he'll be there. We will be racing again next Saturday night. The new pit area is looking good. They even mapped out the spot for the food stand - you guys don't even have to leave the a/c to order the stuff -just go to the window. Now Im waiting for my spot. See you Saturday.........................
joespec 05-05-2003, 05:35 AM Bullfrog,....that 4-cell stock main was a blast! It was tense, and there always seemed to be traffic around. That is the way racing is supposed to be! You made a good call for 2 qualifiers too. This weekend pretty much told me about which car to run where, and Tuffy gave me some real good pointers to help me get around better, and most will be on my car this saturday night.Seeya
FCCR will try it's best to get things started early and finish before 4ish so you can also race your normal Saturday night race. Doors will be open untill 5pm.
See ya Saturday!
BullFrog 05-06-2003, 08:12 PM Looking foward to this weekends racing. After you finish checking out the rug come on over to Tuffy's -it's right down the street.......
grumpy 05-06-2003, 09:48 PM no more help you are fast enough joe spec
joespec 05-09-2003, 04:53 AM grumpy,....I can watch you and get faster! I watch all who are fast, and how they get that way. :D
BullFrog 05-10-2003, 06:54 AM It's time- Today -come on out . What you do is worth a weeks bragging rights. See you there .................
BullFrog 05-11-2003, 10:20 PM Well the racing went off alittle later. Got quite afew racers coming by after practicing on the carpet. Aslo the 19t guys tried caps in their main- woooooooooooo. Ernie turns 8-9 laps at 3.6!
Tuffy track is closed for the next two weeks( carpet race and then it's camping time). See you in a few.
joespec 05-12-2003, 05:53 AM Bullfrog,....does that mean that the 19 turn class will be caps now? Or was that just an experiment? Will the 4-cell stock class remain foams? Are you going to the carpet track for racing? I would love to make that, but I have to work saturdays.
BullFrog 05-12-2003, 06:58 AM possibly-yes-yes.......(I work on Saturdays to).
metrodog 05-12-2003, 01:11 PM I'm sorry I didn't make it! I real wanted to come but exhuastion hit me pretty hard! I will be at the next one in 2 weeks.
Tuffy, thank you for support and incouragement with carpet track we appreciate it! If you have any fliers we be happy to hand them out at the race saturday. LMK
Greg
