Katfish,
You might not say that after you drive one of my BRD powered spec rockets! They may be "ILL handling" (Per Joe Malon) But they are butt loads of fun! I'm in the process of building a palm vally speedway special as we speak!

Bullfrog,
When you gonna stop watching thr grass grow with your thunder truck and add 2 cells to race with the big boys. There outa be a good turn out for spec at tuffy's bring your spec and will fill you in on the rest.

bill i will have a 10L4 conversion with me. the chassis and bumper 6 cell..do you want to make a purchase? i'll bring it up just in case..it would convert your 200mm/onroad/touring car/oval car to a full blown race car. i'll make ya a good deal..no joke

The real scary thing is Bullfrog getting over his distain of oval, now that he likes it,one thing I can say for sure,is that I have had the chance to drive a couple of Bill's rides, and he sets them up to be real smooth! With all of his years in this R/C deal,he could be a factor in anything he races,Tom as well, has done well on the speedway,in time, all of the classes at Tuffy's should be real interesting,as well as alot of fun!

when is the touring car track going to be ready?

katf1sh
03-05-2003, 11:02 PM
i'm surprised ol man bill doesn't use a cadilac body and run curb feelers! lol it's good to see bill enjoy oval racing..like i said it only took him half his lifetime to figure out oval is where it's at. it must kill him to think about all the good time he has missed ..waisting all that money and time on touring cars and other junk. i will say this though..if i couldn't race oval..i would have to pick 12th scale onroad only on carpet 4 cell 19 turn. that is a great class..

Katfish - Thanks but I've got to wait on the new Racetech ride.
Metro- I'll bring the spec truck.
Thanks for the nice words Joe but my oval knowledge is limited. Both Tuffy and Ernie helped me out after last Sundays races. The new set-up should be interesting.

hey Kat whenb the carpet comes I will be doing the annoucing so i won't be able to run my 12th scale. it is a good car and took the b at the birds. it was fast enough to sit like 4th in the a but hey my wheel melted 8 mins is a long time. you welcome to try it

12th scale is where I started racing so it is my favorite. If my touring car and 12th scale car need something and I have only the money for one then the 12th gets it. I am getting a new chassis for it (4 cell) and some other things it will be ready for carpet. and Kat you let me wheel your oval car once.

it might rain friday night and if it does I will be at tuffy's to race the oval car

see yah soon

News flash: the ROAR paperwork is done and probably next weekend we'll start requiring ROAR membership to race.
A special newsflash: We are supposed to have some spectators coming by this weekend. For us oldtimers you'll reconize the names and faces when they are there- I hope. They were well known at the Whip and around here.I believe they both have hung up their gear but maybe they'll be coming back real soon.

To give you a hint: If you look on a map from where you are(C'Dog) they live to the left. I heard one of them lives in a famous southern General place and the other lives south of Jacksonville where they have the Azela festival.

Tim If your going to Daytona - in the past you have to get there early inorder to get in. Like 6 - 7 a.m.. Otherwise your likely not to get in.Your going in the same gate as people walking into the event - cars and people don't mix and the track guards????

Well I will be upgrading the Legends rules since somethings are just hard to get right now.We will be changing the tire rules as well as a motor or battery claiming rule (new). We will also not allow any extra things on the car. The new rules should be ready for this weekends event.

What's happening at the track: well it will be closed for two -three weeks. They will be redoing the pit area - it's moving Leon wants his work shop back. Now if you want to help I'd say the next several weekends the 13th and easter(?) 20th they will be working on the pit area. You can get ahold of Tuffy for the work schedule.
As for me I actually getting a real oval chassis to race- What kind????
See you at the track.......

Bill, I highly recommend the ADX conversion ..... you have all the important stuff ...... front suspension and axles etc. Bear runs real well at Tuffy's with his adx...... so you'll have some help. Give it a try.... FYI Bigdogrc sells the adx conversion... :D

Bears running strong with the KSG but I'm a Bolink kind of guy. It's hard to go to anything else.I was close to getting the KSG car but was talked into maybe a ADX or Ass.L4.Then I was told that I've got a Bolink chassis coming. It should be here this weekend. It's last years car with the new new car coming when it is done.So I'll be driving the Mac Attack.I'm happy because I've been driving their cars since 1991 and it's hard to get something else.I am looking for the KSG rear steer pod plates.Anyone know where to get them?
You know I can't get over racing Oval and enjoying it. The key is the guys racing it - where all old friends.I don't miss not racing in the series anymore. But you will see me at a few this year (orlando). Thanks guys.

Update:The work day went good. The new pit area is 50% there. The walls and doors are in place. There is still plenty of work to do but it's going to be nice. It will be A/C with a Tv and more. The infield now has grass (3+ pallets worth). The drivers stand will be extended later.the computer station to be added later in turn one.Now for the other great news: We will be racing Satuday night under the lights. Look for racing to start around 4-5 p.m.(depending when I can get there).
