Fish since you are not a current ROAR member- thanks you really don't have to much to say that has any truth to the matter.I can't wait until I get to race this weekend - oval..........

Bullfrog, regardless of the status of anyone's ROAR card....its safe to say anyone here having this discussion has been a ROAR supporter in the past. I havent renewed my card because the only place that requires it is the state series.....which dont race oval....lol. This would also be why roar offers memberships when you get to the track. with that being said........

Look, the only thing that anyone is upset about is..... the guys who roll down from georgia and support the racing venues in jax on a weekly/monthly..... are being left out in the cold so to speak....and that doesnt seem right..... i know what you say the rules are bullfrog and I understand the florida is region 4 .....etc etc.....BUT the reason i questioned you was because of this line from the ROAR rulebook

Exceptions to the residency requirement are permissible if authorized by the affected region directors .

Does this or does this not mean that if the georgia (region3?) director and you agree that say don and phil can come race here in florida.... that they would "give-up" their right to compete at their own regional event.....and could compete and race for the title ?? .... im not trying to bust your chops...... just looking to see if there is a way that the guys who help support racing in jax, even though they live out of state dont have to be left out if they choose to run this event??

Hey david butts this is your old buddy LLCool. I just got on this forum and I cannot belive the crap.Just fix the linkage on the legends,I am tired of the turn marshals having to fix the car when it hits the wall.tired of a car on the bottom getting hit 4or5 times because he can't turn out of the way.I also do not like my fun taken out of a hobby for a 3.00 fix. The racing would go smoother and everybody have more fun racing with a car that could make more than a lap before needing work. The hobby would benefit from it and bill is that not the quest of roar to promote the hobby .grumpy

How about a tri state race fla ga ala. maybe just a oval race no regional name. Southern invitational ? Paul Howard Subnationals ? Palm Valley Invitational? Whiners only 250

BullFrog
08-11-2003, 09:56 PM
That's called a Super regional.

A little search in the Ask ROAR area would have found this thread that explains the residency requirements in detail ---> http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=56056

Kenny - exactly!!! Let 'em race.... I see no reason to turn away somebody who wants to compete and pay their entry fees and become a ROAR member (of course!) ... yes, the rule is vague, I understand and it should be tweaked (making a note of this for the next EXComm meeting!) but for now, that's how I have advised the meaning and the spirit of the rule.

Good luck in your upcoming events... wish I could be there!

That legends race was fun to watch. As a matter of fact it was probably more fun to watch than to actually be driving in. Nope I'm glad my car was at the house safe and sound. More than likely if one more car was entered there would've been an A and a B main

Bullfrog,
Is it necessary to attend all the qualifying races to qualify? Or is it just the best runs in upcoming weeks that Qualify? I have to work two of the listed race dates and will be at the carpet on a third but I am planing on attending two or three club races at Tuffys in the next few weeks.
Thanks, Lee Helander

I don't think the month of November racing schedules have been looked at real close for determining who's racin where.
NOVEMBER:
week# 1 - Ft.Lauderdale Oval race.
week# 2 - Race Rock, Tuffy's, Charlotte BGN for me.
week# 3 - FCCR
week# 4 - nothing I see scheduled.
week# 5 - MinnReg Oval

Choosing where to go and race may be tough............

GOOD LUCK on your selections guys. I know where i'll be.

Not to but in on Tuffy's Biz but if you guys want to run without a ROAR membership and you want to bring as many trailers as you want and you want 30+ shaded powered pits and you want some great competition.........Bring your radial tires, stock and 19 turn motors up to Macon and race at Echeconnee Superspeedway. We are a 320' concrete tri oval with AMB and Autoscore. E-mail for directions and race schedule. BTW Bullfrog, a bunch of us would like to come down from GA to race around your oval but we are unsure about your rules and regs, could you enlighten us please?
