I might be sticking my foot in my mouth on this one but I am going to say it anyways. The Epic motor even says outlaw on it. It does not go by ANYONEs stock motor rules so it should not be confused as a stock. ROAR will proably approve epoxy balancing for stock motors before they will allow 4 magnets in stock. It looks like they are going to allow the 4 magnet motors in 19t for the 2004 rules so it won't be until 2005 that they would allow the 4 magnets in stock.

Besides as Dusty said you proably want to stay with a monster if you are planning on traveling somewhere warm.

Your right, if your going to travel around you better stay with roar legal motors. But I think you will still see alot of racers using the outlaw motor during there weekly races. If a tracks hobby shop sales them I can't see how they disallow them for weekly races.

i know you're making a point jim, in regards to the shops selling them but telling you you can't run them at there track. and i also know that you're one of the few guys who does whatever it takes to keep this hobby going. i appreciate your willingness to always help out. maybe saturday we'll do a timed solo run with your car only changing from a monster to a binary and see where a guy can gain/lose with this motor. gaerte boys..see you saturday...and don't let me put a 19 turn in either!(unless of course i'm just shaking it down :thumbsup:

Randy, Dusty, Brain, I agree with all for you, I don't even own a binary at this point in time. The only way I will run a binary if I start getting beat by them. What I mean is if I start getting out motor versa out driven. I personally think I can gain more speed by working on my car setup then I could by a new motor . !!! cya this weekend !! Jim

19t sounds good to me. My best run was a 66 4:02.96 last week and then they turned the heat off and the track got WAY to tight to be fun. Should be better this week. 19t sounds good to me as long as Monti brings his L4 so I can copy another setup.

Congrates to Sonny Brown on a new 4-cell mod track record. I qualified 4th and finished 2nd 2 seconds behind Frank. This mod stuff is kinda fun. Oh yeah I'm sorry Monti I ran a setup I copied off of Walter this time. So much steering I didn't know what to do with myself.

A big thanks to the Summit crew for putting on the race. Even though they didn't have trophies for 4-cell mod. The program ran a lil long and I think that si something that really needs to be looked at in the future. Either start earlier, pack the heats, or my fav go to one minute between the heats. With the one min people have to get ready earlier and then if someone needs an extra minute then it is 2 mins between round vs. 3 as it is now. This would decrease each round by over 30 mins.

All in all it was a funn weekend of Lansing, FW, and then FW again.

wanted to thank squirrly dave and everyone else at "the fort" for a great weekend. had the feeling of an old m.o.c. race...michigan superstars,ohio outlaws and even an illinois invader made for tremendous racing. for the record....if any of us "aged" veterans have trouble getting beat by a kid....we're in serious trouble. chris ulbrick is GOOD. a couple of years ago he could put 3 minutes in that would scare the best racer...now he's got 4 minutes in him. uh-oh. we're lucky frank and mike are holding out on the big voltage. :p

i've got a remaining christmas gathering this weekend..i'll be in tulsa next weekend...so, i'm shooting for the next one (17th i think). that will probably be it until the 'birds. i'm probably going to try and get the slider car closer in 19 turn...but it wouldn't be a bad idea to see if you,me and mark could do a timed run with the stockers at some point. my solid car felt pretty good...just need to smooth out the other one a little.

I'll have Brent put a new bumper on his stocker and he can join too. Lol

dave...i'd be happy to get dumped by the legendary brent lane :thumbsup: the problem is....his alotted 1 road trip is up for the next 3 months. maybe you can con him into another appearance...even if it is just for an autograph session. i'd still like to take up a "brent lane snowbirds donation fund" for two reasons. 1) because i think he was too close to winning that he deserves another chance and 2) 'cause it makes your life so much better.
