I don't think anyone will just move over......everyone will be fighting fo every position all weekend long........

I know of a few locals that will be duking it out to get to the A-Mains....

So I guess Jason, patience and a little luck and you'll get the 61....

The big one as we refer too is inevitable........

your right in the A main it will be a dog fight............
but i hope in the heat since they are quailifing racers use there heads and mover over for the faster cars, because they will get more laps in the race as well.

so 61 is possible, but your right Kris it will take alittle luck and good CLEAN racing.

HEy All...

I would like to thank all the people who made the 1st ever State Championship series race happen!!!!! Man was that fun...can't wait till we travel to Terre Haute in January.......

Hats off to Greg June/PDX Racing.......Dale Monroe at Summitt Raceway.....and Butch & Burke From Racestreet for closing their show to come race in the series (That was a class act!) with us!!!!!!!

And the other competitors who raced their hardest to get to the "Big Dance"!!!!!!!

Thanks JAson Christ and Brent Lane for all your patience with me......Jason, you had the car to beat.......good luck at the Bird's if I don't see you before you take off!!!!!!!!

Hopefully at the next race I will have a Busch car that meets the weight limits without having to add a half pound of weight in the stupid thing.........:freak:

See you all at the track....and thanks for a good weekend of intense racing....

Hey All...

I wish to thank everyone that raced with us at Summit Raceway in Fort Wayne, IN this last weekend. Track records fell multiple times and had some very close racing!! 73 entries which is excellent!! THANK YOU!!

We had a few discrepancies during the first leg of the Indiana Carpet Oval State Championships concerning a few rules. Unfortunately a few racers felt like they were "blown-off" or cheated in the out-come. So I sent out a few emails, talked with RJ & Danny Clark all the way home from the "Fort", and slept on it before coming to this conclusion:

Touring Car Weight:
We asked a few touring car racers, and were told, that Touring Cars with foam tires should be 53oz., which is what they thought the SnowBirds was going to go by for this years upcoming race. During the second qualifier a racer brought me the ROAR rule book that stated that the weight should be 53oz with RUBBER TIRES ONLY. So I contacted Mike(SnowBirds) about this years upcoming race, here is his reply email:
From: Rcthunder@aol.com Date: Monday, November 29, 2004 10:24 AM
Hello Greg. We used 51 last year and will again this year at the race. This is the weight with a transponder. The foams allow the cars to be a little lighter. Thanks for the mail. Have fun racing up there!

I wish to apologize for the way things were handled at the track, but I wanted to correct the rules before the Mains so we can race the rest of the series with the same rules, and basically to do "the right thing". I hope to post, email and list everywhere I can, a complete set of rules for this series, and hope to do so by this coming weekend. I have posted the UNOFFICIAL results on the PDX RACING websyte and will update them, along with a points run-down, possibly later this evening. Please check out the results page here: http://pdxracing.sytes.net/resultshome.html

For now, here some added/updated rules:
-Touring Car weight: 51oz. ~ body height: 4.50" ~ chassis clearance: 4mm
-Busch weight: 43oz. ~ body height: 4.25" ~ chassis clearance: 3mm
-4cell NASCAR(Stock): 40oz ~ body height: 4.25" ~ chassis clearance: 3mm
-NASTRUCK Rubber Tire: 53oz ~ body height: 4.75" ~ chassis clearance: 4mm
-Stadium Truck Oval: ??oz ~ body height: n/a ~ chassis clearance: 1/2"
-All Spec motors shall have the SPEC-S Tag on the arm (we had to tear down a Spec motor after the race, it was a legal motor)
-All heat races shall have max. 6 positions ~ All Main races shall have max. 8 positions.
-Saturday night host track schedule: Doors open at 10:00am, Registeration closed at 4:00pm. Racing to start at 5:00pm. ~ 3 heats and a Main. All races 4 min., except Legends(5 minute A-Main)
-Sunday State Champ racing schedule: Doors open at 8:00am, Registeration closed at 10:30am. Racing to start at 11:30am. ~ 2 heats and a Main. All races 4 min., except Legends(5 minute A-Main)
-If it DOES NOT SAY you CAN DO something in the rules, then it is illegal. Let's leave the modifing, bending of the rules, to the pro modified classes/racers. I do not want to eliminate anyone from racing, however, rules are a part of racing. If you do not want to race by rules, do not race this series.

Again, I wish the thank all the racers for supporting this series and look forward to some excellent racing at the next event. The next event will be a Joe's HobbyBarn on Jan. 22nd & 23rd. Joe's is offering the first 50 racers a guarenteed pit space with your pre-paid entry. Email me for more info/entry costs and/or you can pre-register using PayPal to pdxracing@comcast.net. Thanks again and after all is said and done, this will be will the Official PDX RACING Ruling for this Series.

See ya at the Track...
