Karl Womack and I are gonna be switching on and off thru the summer. We are doing this so the two of us can venture out and race, or spend time with family. I think 2 race directors is an awesome idea, and that is what the facility needs. So I will be helping him with sign -ups and tech this week.... :freak:

I've never run an L4, so I can't really say what would work. But, you could try the following:

Gold L, Blue R - 25wt
Green Center - 40wt
RF red, LF green with some type of king pin lube
RF BSR Purple or Grey, whites everywhere else.

That should get you in the ball park, of course, your mileage may vary.

0-rear steer
offset pod spaced so rear is right at 8 in.and the tires are centered side to side
BSR double pink rears

Protoform HD Monte with Thunder Big Wing
Silva battery tray extender, batteries all the way back and to the left
I don't know what my LR weight is as I go strictly on feel on the track and by tire wear.I have ran this setup in 19t and mod and been very fast with it. I tried running 2 different front springs but never liked it. I felt the steering was very inconsistent. I have ran 2 reds but the chassis started to dump over. Plus for stock, I assume that si what you are running, the stiffer spring will get the car up out of the carpet and free it up some. I have never ran anything other then a spring steel t-plate. If I ran a fiberglass on it would be a .075. As for rear springs I ran the red/gold combo also to free the car up some and it made the car more responsive. But most of the time I think the gold/ blue combo gives a better feel. The tire setup I stated is really on edge. I love to have my cars turn alot. For stock I would go with BSR purple RF, BSR grey or white LF, and white rears.

Sorry this is not up sooner, but Phil told me to post that Saturday and probably Sunday (April 3 and 4), he will be out working on the outdoor oval and offroad tracks. Any volunteers are welcome and appreciated.

What is everyone gonna run on the dirt oval this year? Sprint cars? 4wd's? Just wondering what the majority of people will be running.

I dont know how often I'll get to make it down there for the dirt oval, but when I had the opertunity I was going to bring my Ele Truck STK\MOD & the Sprinter.

Anyone have a reasonably priced used .21 to sell? I just aquired a OFNA MBX 2 pro 1/8th scale that I want to get together... also need engine mts, Header & tune pipe.

Dudes...thanx for the setup advice....that might even help Corey out so we both won't be roadkill...lol

Our test session at the velodrome was a success. After we figured out we had an evil motor that was casuing a very bad glitch.......spent about 2 hours getting the car around the track...and finally Sarah and I got about 2 runs in before we packed it up and headed to Hobbytown.........:) Next time you see Sarah.......give her a big pat on the back...she made a complete run around the Velodrome without crashing into the wall, and turned a bunch of fast laps......:)

to be honest...there seemed to be very little interest for the carpet track last week. to be fair they were cutting the dirt oval which drew some attention, but the local racers were in very low numbers. seemed to have fair turnouts in the touring and truck classes but the pan cars were only the out of town crew. it's probably going to take an announcement from phil as to when to "take it outside"...but it's tough to drive that far and see the lack of interest for the indoor show. i know with monti and koback headed to the nats they won't be here or be very fired up to race upon their return(i'm guessing). if we could all come together on a saturday where all are available it would be cool.....btw....where have YOU been?
as far as mr. whitesel....DO NOT upset the elder statesman of our r/c racing circle. he flat layed it down saturday. i had nothing for him...couldn't even get close enough to give him a donut. van briggle was the next best car...but he lost the draft as well. hey brent, do ya think dave ran so well 'cause he didn't have to keep his "edge crew" headed in one direction? :)
