Anyone else? Mark Recio 01-08-2004, 10:45 AM Looks like if I go anywhere this weekend it will be to the Ft. I might be intersted in that David. I need to check on my tire situation! DaveW 01-08-2004, 11:05 AM Who's up for Sunday? davidl 01-08-2004, 12:53 PM I hope you can make it, Mark. BTW, I will only be there on Saturday. blueracer55 01-08-2004, 01:12 PM hey ksg boys, sunny, kemp ,and whoever. im wondering what left hub i need for carpet, and is the rear end supposed to be this high in the air? this car looks great. i put the orion mod in it, the revolution. i got the rear to the left. S Brown 01-08-2004, 01:50 PM Adjust the ride height to about 1/4”. I don’t remember if they sell a different left hub or not. If the pod is off set the inside edge of the left tire should be about 1/8” from hitting the pod plate. I don’t think you will be real happy with the Orion motor for oval. Everyone I have seen has run vary flat on the oval. They are pretty killer for off-road and on-road though. Sorry no Fort for me this weekend , heading to the land of cheese and broughts... blueracer55 01-08-2004, 03:05 PM sunny the problem im having is that the left hub is hitting the pod. also the left tire is sticking out too far. so the body isn't clearing the left rear of the body. this is the hub in the kit i have in there now. i dont get it. Mark Recio 01-08-2004, 04:18 PM Sounds like you offset the pod, but used the centered hubs (kit standard). Since you offset the pod, of course you didn't use the included axel spacer, which, when used, will space the left rear out the right ammount. Center the pod back up, use the hubs you have, and #3 or #2 ride hight adjusters and you should be good to go. blueracer55 01-08-2004, 05:22 PM ya i finally called ksg, looks like i'll have to order the right hubs. but what woks better offset or centered? Mark Recio 01-08-2004, 05:31 PM Paul - It's still up for debate. It REALLY depends on what class you are running. No question in mod you'll like the offset better, in 19-turn I think you could get either to work, but most run offset. Stock - Might actually be better centered. Dusty ran that way a few weeks ago at the Ft. I was offset, and a bit slower in the races we both finished. Hope that helps, Mark blueracer55 01-08-2004, 05:47 PM how many spacers inside the left hub? tw78911sc 01-08-2004, 07:08 PM Tom from Toledo here, I plan on making it. I'm quite sure others from Van Wert will be making the trip as well. Is there a cheap hotel near by? Will parts be available both days? I may need rears. Tom Mark Recio 01-08-2004, 08:24 PM If you are talking about the centered car, 3-4 .020 wolf axel spacers should be good. You can take some out, or put some back in to tune with. Or, you can use the large blue spacer from the kit. You'll want one on the RT side between the diff & the bearing carrier. blueracer55 01-09-2004, 08:42 AM thanks for the help mark. all i have left is to get the body, spacers, and tires. my mcallister monti didn't fit. S Brown 01-09-2004, 09:56 AM Paul, Mcalister body’s tend to be a little on the narrow side. Try to find a Protoforom or Bolink HD Monte Carlo. Mark Recio 01-09-2004, 10:48 AM FWIW, I saw a post on here somewhere (or maybe it was the conference) that Gary was going to make the front wider on his 04 boddies. Sonny, have a brat' for me! Are you in for the Ft. next weekend? Crazy Dave Hill, I sent you an email, did you get it? David Lee, I haven't dug through the tire box yet, but I think I should be able to come up with something for this weekend. I'll post late tonight one way or the other. sheath 01-09-2004, 12:20 PM Tom from Toledo, There are a number of motels at I-69 exit 109A, the exit to take to get to the track. Red Roof, Knights Inn, Motel 6, Travel Inn, Best Inns, Econo Lodge... maybe one or two more. From there it is only a short drive to the track. Nick's Hobby Shop at the track will be open both days. blueracer55 01-09-2004, 12:56 PM sunny, i called gary, and ordered the newer version. he said it should work fine, and gave me a great deal. he's a very nice guy. if i ever get this thing finished i'll be up there. hobbytown didn't have any hd bodies, chevrolet. i guess i'll wait. otherwise the car looks great. Mark Recio 01-09-2004, 02:16 PM Paul, what class are you going to run? The PF Dodge works pretty well in stock and 19-turn blueracer55 01-09-2004, 03:05 PM probably start up in 4 stock. just to get the car settled. i don't like going too fast with a new car. but i'd like to run 19 or mod later. stock just seems to be too slow after running dirt for so long. i hope to be there in at least one or two weeks. Mark Recio 01-09-2004, 08:47 PM David, Looks like I will go tomorrow. Not sure what I will run, I haven't been able to dig out the tire box yet! davidl 01-09-2004, 11:51 PM That's good, Mark. I will bring the 1/12 and the 1/10. There will be some others to run with us so we shall see which classes we run went we see the turn out. I hope to get there before 10:30am. Save me a pit stall next to you if you can. Maybe I can impersonate Dusty this weekend. Mark Recio 01-10-2004, 01:43 AM David, I think you'll be the one saving a pit spot for me! I don't know if I'll have left by then! Ttyl, Mark Krisfo 01-10-2004, 03:36 AM I have some input that I'd like to post here on the web. It has to do with the Legends rules. I just don't understand why the guys can't run the batts they were running before. Most of them have been using old batteries that really aren't up to par for 6 cells classes and recycling them to make the class. Also, the spec pack with the tamiya connector is kinda lame. Most tracks that have a legends class allow them (racers) to cut the cheesy tamiya connector off and run either deans, or lightspeed connectors. The only stipulation to this rule is that under no circumstances may the shrink wrap be tampered with! Also the rules don't state spec tires only, nor do the rules state a fixed gear ratio of 81/22 or 81 tooth spur gear, and up to a 22 pinion max..... I'm only saying this to help draw Legends racers to the track. When the idea was brought up, the track had two heats of them. Now I hear one showed up last week, and he had to go home cuz there was noone to play with...lol Kris davidl 01-11-2004, 10:08 PM As several of you probably can figure, I had a great time yesterday evening. And I want to publicly say that my success rests completely with Mark Recio. What a great guy. Mark, I must thank you very much for your help with the tires. It really straigthened out my car and it is a blast to drive. You are a class act and a very good friend. Also, kudos to Dave and the Summit gang. They ran a pretty tight program, without hardly any breaks that should be avoided. The drivers stand addition worked well, too. Congratulations all. blueracer55 01-11-2004, 10:11 PM in any racing real to r/c rules change. racers are expected to adapt. rules are set for competion, and equality. there will always be complaints, and cheaters. spec racing has always been iffy. that's why bolink included a rule book in the box. if a track changes this rule, comply or loose. this has been my experience. lame or not everyone needs to talk, and agree. that's of course if a change is needed. if they don't like it don't race it. that's the reason i don't run busch, sportsman, or legends. i like the aspect of it, but its funny how things make a complete circle. no matter what happens nobody will be satisfied. isn't racing a blast? lol..... dynoman007 01-12-2004, 12:13 PM thx for the kind words david lee ..... as far as big mark recio goes if he keeps his radio off the track during the races im happy ROFL........ for all of the guys heading to the sno birds if you need equip hauled we will be taking the trailer and truck down so be at the race on the 31st and we will load up and roll it down for you pricing is determined by your attitude and overall fun level to hang out with .. jason crist 01-12-2004, 04:59 PM hey dave on the price of hauling what will a 6 pack to give you and Jo Jo plus cash? 12 pack ? case? just kidding talk to ya on the 31st i'm in for hau;ing my stuff down later jason crist quick question on the triple crown since the turn out was low how about the next race in feb be on a saturday ? just a thought bluelineracer 01-12-2004, 05:03 PM dave...we have the hookup..fresh from the okies. dusty any records go down saturday night? blueracer55 01-12-2004, 05:17 PM hey kemp, what's a good roll out there for 4cell stock? dynoman007 01-12-2004, 05:54 PM turnout will be great for the next 2 bro i promise .... lots of stuf going on this weekend killed our turnout i hate it but it happens i was happy to see all of the guys we had .....
