View Full Version : Anticipating the release of Firebird series.
Porsche911GT3 03-26-2004, 11:21 PM I'd definitely like to see your car done, Mike!
Well that's 2--->Rob's SE and Mike's Formula.
And then there's always the '80 Pace Car which PM already has the casting and similar paint scheme for.
superduty455 03-27-2004, 01:15 AM Well, we have my friends car, which is a Gold S/E 78 Trans Am. That make's 3!
Half way to series 3.
CTWLSMIKE--Nice Formula, and good call on the wheels! LOL
Chris
Swifty 03-27-2004, 01:45 AM Well I finally took a little initiative and scanned an OLD polaroid of my very first car and sadly, my only Firebird! She was a beautiful electric blue '78 Formula with SNOWFLAKE wheels, for those of you who are particular about wheels!
It'd be great to see PM do one of these!
That car rocks! I'd love to see it in 1/64!
superduty455 03-27-2004, 09:20 AM A little birdie told me that we would see more Firebirds, just wasn't sure when.
I better go feed that little birdie....
Chris
robmcin 03-27-2004, 10:33 AM Maybe feed the little birdie a nice steak for lunch, eh???
96cutlass 03-27-2004, 12:00 PM I'm still waiting for the 80s casting...
robmcin 03-27-2004, 12:45 PM me, too!!

robmcin 03-27-2004, 06:50 PM Maybe????
robmcin 03-27-2004, 10:49 PM maybe not?
robmcin 03-27-2004, 11:02 PM how come we don't get pics of beautiful women?
robmcin 03-27-2004, 11:34 PM hi ho hi ho a posting I will go
Me, too!
robmcin 03-27-2004, 11:38 PM Hey Rob
the reason you don't get the pics of woman on that post is because they are all over here having fun

http://www.wreckedexotics.com/newphotos/bad/bad314.jpg
It was. The B pillar tells me it was a '93-'02 F-Body. The hood shows cutouts for pop-up headlights. Since the Camaro never offered pop-ups, it has to be a Firebird.
robmcin 03-28-2004, 08:21 AM ouch!!
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 04:32 PM Well, let's bring the master of all threads back to the top where it's supposed to be!
robmcin 03-28-2004, 05:50 PM ok!!!
superduty455 03-28-2004, 06:26 PM So, I wonder when we'll see series three Firebirds? Will it be in 2004 or early 2005?
Chris
robmcin 03-28-2004, 06:37 PM ummm, I'll guess 2005
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 09:28 PM I wanna see PM make this exact car...
http://www.musclecarcalendar.com/CVC112.jpg
superduty455 03-28-2004, 10:22 PM I just wanna see PM make more Firebirds.
Chris
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 10:24 PM Yeah, well we gotta give 'em ideas...
superduty455 03-28-2004, 10:25 PM Ideas nothing man. I sent a cd full of images of Firebirds for them. They got tons of pictures. We just have to sit and wait I guess.
Chris
superduty455 03-28-2004, 10:28 PM With the castings they have now, series three is as close as a re-tampo!
1977/78 Bandit
1978 S/E Y88 Gold
1973 Brewster Green
1980 Turbo Pace car
1972 Cameo White
1979 Chestnut Brown
That's a pretty good mixture. Of course, Pace cars could be done. Plus I believe their are some castings we have yet to see.
Chris
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 10:29 PM Well, look at how many active Firebird fans are on HT....I can only count about 5-6.
I guess they aren't selling well, and I have no clue WHY! No other diecast company makes good castings in 1:64 like PM.
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 10:31 PM With the castings they have now, series three is as close as a re-tampo!
1978 S/E Y88 Gold
1973 Brewster Green
1980 Turbo Pace car
Yep, that's pretty much what I told LT1Tony, and he said he'll mention it at meetings. Gotta make room for more CLUE cars! :freak:
superduty455 03-28-2004, 10:37 PM Also, they could do a black 98-02 WS-6 Trans Am. Or my favorite one the Hurst/Lingenfelter Trans Am:

Chris
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 10:40 PM You just reminded me, the other day I saw a WS-6 with big 20 inch spinners ....looked funky.

Well, Like I mentioned earlir. Series 3 is coming, just not sure when.
Also, I wonder how many Firebirds are peg warming anywhere? I know that here in MN from Mpls. through Rochester we haven't got any.
I do know different regions sell more cars than others. I'd really like to know how well the series did. We know that V-dubs sell well, and Camaro's sell well. How bout these birds?
Chris
73roadrunner 03-28-2004, 10:47 PM Don't see to many in my area......bought my first '68 the other day
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 10:47 PM Chris, I mentioned this in the contest thread...
Don't these wheels remind you of Rallye wheels, I think they'd look good on the proper Firebirds. (they're the best we have to go by for right now)
http://www.dansdiecast.com/wyatt/muscle5/mc5r4ss.jpg
superduty455 03-28-2004, 10:48 PM Went to World of Wheels with some friends today and saw a tuner with spinners. I don't neccesarily like them, however a few SUV's I've seen look good with them. Just a fad.

And if that isn't bad enough you can still be "spinnin'" with your shoes on:
http://www.dadafootwear.com/dada2004/img/shoes/Spree/lateral.gif
superduty455 03-28-2004, 10:50 PM Yeah, Magnum 500's are close, but I think the wheels they put on the series 2 yellow 68(flyin68bird) car look pretty darn good too.
Chris
Porsche911GT3 03-28-2004, 10:54 PM Must.... Keep... Firebird...thread.... Alive!
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:00 PM Well, I know one thing. The thread views won't get beaten.
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:02 PM It's begininng to look like a race to 1200
hmmmmmmm.
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:05 PM Here's a nice Turbo bird on ebay. Fetching 13,6 right now!
http://i12.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/90/12/50_3.JPG
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:07 PM This one is even nicer, but the price tag seems a bit steep:
http://i12.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/8f/2c/9c_1_b.JPG
27,500
Chris
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:11 PM Ouch, This one has one to many zero's
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2470438380&category=6420
$50g's. I don't think so
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:14 PM The 69 Fatbird casting could still be used too! Projects in progress:
http://i18.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/8d/46/d1_1_s.JPG
Or not
Chris
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:19 PM It appears that I am all alone in this thread.
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:21 PM 27" rims, don't think these will fit on the Firebid
http://i17.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/8c/0b/e2_1_s.JPG
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:24 PM So, is like anyone coming in here to help or?
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:27 PM FHM names Britney Spears sexiest woman in the world. Huh, go figure.
superduty455 03-28-2004, 11:29 PM Well at least they photographed her on a GTO
http://www.fhm.com/site/sexiest/britney/img/8big.jpg
