LS1T/A 04-14-2003, 12:39 AM I need them rims for my TA  Looks Like a real Pontiac Rim (or a Yenko rim).
robmcin 04-14-2003, 11:18 AM That's it!!!! That's my 74....or will be again, if I ever get the 77 finished and get going on it!
Rob
robmcin 04-16-2003, 03:31 PM Hmmmmm, Page 3 already???? Slacking again, are we?
superduty455 04-16-2003, 03:48 PM ......
robmcin 04-16-2003, 03:49 PM You know, I'm not REALLY complaining, but a Formula hood with TA fenders??
Jeff Koch 04-16-2003, 04:07 PM It's a mockup. We have lots of pieces to fit on these. This is a compilation of the pieces that were at hand when I went to take the photo. Trust us, we'll get it right. We even have plans for a '73 Super Duty Formula...or two ...
jk
robmcin 04-16-2003, 04:10 PM Jeff,
Do you have the setup of the 70, 71, 72, 73 Trans Am that had the Formula hood AND the Shaker!!! You could use it for the Hollywood on Wheels Series..... first they burned it up in CHiPs, then it became Ponch's car he drove all the time.
And I know you'll get it right, that's the kind of guy you are.
Rob
superduty455 04-16-2003, 04:29 PM ......
Jeff Koch 04-16-2003, 06:19 PM That's what a Formula SD is, Chris ... no ground effects, just Formula bodywork and a shaker.
I don't see the CHiPs license entering our future anytime soon so the T/A Formula combo will remain unbuilt for the moment. Not to say that you customizers couldn't do one of your own ...

spycargirl 04-16-2003, 10:51 PM Jeff, what about the HOW cars I mentioned? A possibility? CJTorino brought up the black 70-73 Firebird /Trans Am from Corvette Summer, you remember that one right? the "chop shop" guys who stole the vette and he used that car to chase Hamill in. All black and menacing. Whattya think there Jeff?
Chris
Hey now, if you do the Firebird then you better do the Vette from Corvette Summer as well. No favortism now.
Now where the heck is T/a Tommy at?!
tinywheels 04-17-2003, 12:16 AM never gonna give up on this thread are ya. Bet you'll make 1G yet!
Gary
superduty455 04-17-2003, 12:35 AM ......
robmcin 04-17-2003, 08:55 AM I have a wall calender in my office from an office supply company and March/April is a Brewster Green 455 SD Formula, I'm deciding whether or not to keep the pic and frame it
robmcin 04-17-2003, 08:56 AM And as to the French
Five surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.
The first surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my operating
table because when you open them up everything inside is numbered."
The second responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians.
Everything inside them is color-coded.
The third surgeon says, "No, I really think librarians are the best;
everything inside them is in alphabetical order."
The fourth surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction
workers. They always understand when you have a few parts left over
at the end and when the job takes longer than you said it would."
But the fifth surgeon, Dr. Morris Fishbein, shuts them all up when
he observes: "The French are the easiest to operate on.
There's no guts, no heart, no cujones and no spine. Plus the head and butt

robmcin 04-17-2003, 04:53 PM
WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Of course, Jeff, you understand that I amnot yelling AT you, just yelling.
superduty455 04-17-2003, 04:55 PM .....
Bjgrammy 04-17-2003, 04:57 PM Oh No..... A lot of folks will be very upset!!!!
Jeff.. You lying....??
superduty455 04-17-2003, 04:59 PM .....
superduty455 04-17-2003, 05:02 PM .....
robmcin 04-17-2003, 05:03 PM Well, if they cancel the Birds and continue with the Cat in the Hat and the other crap like that,I'm outta here for good. With all the Camaros they sell, they can't tell me the Firebirds wouldn't sell just as well.....heck, half the Camaros sold because the Firebird guys bought them!
robmcin 04-17-2003, 05:13 PM Jeff,
C'mon out, we won't hurt you, c'mon, that's a good Jeff, talk to us, we're on your side.......
Jeff,
Just show Tom Lowe this thread and he will make it happen. This sucks like nothing else in recent memory concerning diecast including the Batman debacle:(
My sediments exactly Robdog. Is PM in such a Jam that they will not release this series which is sure to do well. The posts from JK asking that we talk to our stores to help move product along etc...related. I hope not. I Love JL cars.

Jeff,
C'mon out, we won't hurt you, c'mon, that's a good Jeff, talk to us, we're on your side.......
You sound like a cop that interrogates people
robmcin 04-17-2003, 05:57 PM I notice "Jeff Koch" was smart.....posted this piece of "information" and booked..... I don't blame him..... but would like to know why also...... is this just another in a series of "well, we said that, but now we say no, too bad, that's the way it goes", as they have been doing quite a bit of lately? The old Newsflashes are full of abandoned series and never were series.
superduty455 04-17-2003, 06:00 PM ......
superduty455 04-17-2003, 06:02 PM ......
robmcin 04-17-2003, 06:16 PM I can't call it what I think is is, there ARE children (my 14 year old was here for the last 1/2 hour) on this board this time of day.
Rob
tinywheels 04-17-2003, 06:29 PM This announcement would have been a cruel enough thing to do on April 1st but on Apr 17th it's just playing with my head. What the production cost to high or something. Just drop all the cardboard enhancement stuff and sell them on plain jane standard size red cards and they would be killers. If JL drops this highly anticipated series then I really wonder what is in store for the corporation? Just a thought.
Gary
superduty455 04-17-2003, 06:43 PM .........
jaymzo 04-17-2003, 06:51 PM This really is a pisser...come on...I like the Camaros, but the Birds are my favorite! This is not a really smart move....
LS1T/A 04-17-2003, 07:18 PM OK-KEEP CALM
BREATH DEEP.
STOP SEEING RED
NOT GOING TO LOOSE MY HEAD AND PANIC.
NOT GOING TO START CURSING, MUMBLING, AND SHOUTING.
I'M GONNA WAIT TILL WE HAVE A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION.
I DO HOWEVER FEEL THIS IS A VERY BAD MARKETING DECISION.
I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MUCH ANTICIPATION FOR ONE SERIES YET.
I'M SURE THE PEOPLE WITH THIER HEADS IN THE CLOUDS WILL HAVE TO PULL THEM OUT AT SOME POINT FOR AIR. ONCE THE PRESSURE IS OFF THE HEAD FROM THE ANAL CANAL NORMAL BLOOD FLOW WILL RESUME TO THE BRAIN AND WE'LL HAVE A FIREBIRD SERIES.
IS IT FALL 03 YET
C'mere Tommy and lay your head on my shoulder..IT will be ok!!! :D
LS1T/A 04-17-2003, 07:23 PM Moderators
Some Rather Strong Language Might Find It's Way Here Please Don't Kill This Thread Feel Free To Edit As You See Fit.
LS1T/A 04-17-2003, 07:24 PM C'mere Tommy and lay your head on my shoulder..IT will be ok!!! :D
THANKS BFK BUT IT'S GONNA TAKE A LITTLE MORE THAN THAT.
LS1T/A 04-17-2003, 07:28 PM I KNOW THIS SOUNDS KINDA DRASTIC. BUT IF THIS SERIES ISN'T RELEASED I THINK I'LL SELL OF ALL MY JL'S AND NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE AGAIN.
tinywheels 04-17-2003, 07:48 PM ...Shoot, putem on raw carboard with a stapled rubber band holding them on and I'd still buy them if that helps get them out. ...
Well I do think they need some cardboard for getting them around without damaging them, but just nothing fancy. Loose wouldn't be cool. The cars are what sell. Sure the packaging might entice a few but most people rip them open after purchase. Just keep up the highly detailed bodies, new castings, put them on plain cards like HW and collectors will come.
You know this announcement COULD just be a test from JLs head office. Maybe JK or Tom L just wanted to see our reaction to this and see just how serious we take our collecting and the demand this series has spurred. Perhaps some investors were questioning the real effect these cars have on us big boys. Or perchance some shrinks are doing a socialogical survey on the adverse effects of invoked undo trauma to the inhuman toy collector.
:freak:
Gary
zamac_man 04-17-2003, 07:59 PM am I reading that this series is going to be cancled?
superduty455 04-17-2003, 08:03 PM ........
BOBB36 04-17-2003, 09:04 PM All of them.
jk
  Well JK, I guess that wont take much now will it.  This sounds like something Action Performance would do. Lets not follow the big guys in into the toilet.
triple20 04-17-2003, 09:12 PM There's only one logical explanation for this...playing mantis has hired the same hot wheels spies for marketing that already ruined matchbox.
this truly is a very sad day...they are going to make simpson cars and dump firebirds and batmobiles...what in the world is marketing thinking...I'm telling you, they hired spies from hot wheels :(
