I can't speak for the KSG guys, but all the HD's are running straight up pods,at least all the fast ones.

Danny you running the region race Aug, 6th? Also can you tell me what compounds I need in Mod at BMS??

Thanks,
Mario

Probably not going to BMS this summer, i can't run the nats so...no need to travel 15hrs.

This is what i would run at BMS considering it will most likely be hot. S Net Silver RF, Green L pro-lite LF, S Net Blue RR, Green L pro-lite Narrow LR.

yea Danny you were quick for sure,I didn't mean that offset wouldn't work but all the 21T guys were straight up I think,I think I kinda know what the deal is now, there was one key ingredient that I was missing.

I just purchased another KSG slider to use in a brushless class. Does anyone have a good setup running brushless? I am running primarily on a carpet track 110' runline, shaped mostly like a paperclip. (running Novak 4300)

thanks

Danny I took your advice and got a solid chassis for the BMS Nats race I'm setting it up now. Lefthander was fast getting the chassis to me now all I gotta do is make it fast:devil:

Guys, don't let the straight up pod on the HD's fool you, Don't forget they can offset just the t-plates, and keep the standard hubs on as well.........

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help. I have been running my pod centered. I run flat oval and was told to run it offset. I did so but kept my centered T-plate on. Is that ok? It seemed to fit fine but I dont know if you can do that.....any insight would help.

Tommygun43

When you offset the pod on a KSG all you need to do is move the pod over to the left on the T-plate and change to a wide right side hub and narrow left side hub. You use the same t-plate for centered and offset. There is no option to offset the t-plate in the chassis like some cars have so you don't have to worry about that.

So it sounds like you did it right as long as you changed the hubs also.

I like offset on my KSG almost always, centered seems to work better on very few tracks.

 Do most cars offer the flexibility of changing your pod without buying an offset T-plate? That seems like a great feature. It was very easy to do, that is why I thought I did something wrong...............Does KSG make a front brace like on the HD cars?

Tommygun43
08-28-2005, 10:37 PM
Actually I don't think you have to change the t-plate to offset any car. (I'm probably wrong). However you do have to change the upper and lower pod plates on some cars to offset...they don't have the extra holes in the lower plate to move the t-plate over or the holes in the upper pod plate to move the shocks mounts over.
They have changed the Pro 3 like the KSG so you don't have the change the pod plates any more.
I don't think KSG makes a front end brace. I think there all the same though.

Does KSG make a sway bar for the rear pod?

Kenny as far as I know the pro 3 is the only HD which allows for a offset T-plate.

Okay guys,I know there are several cars on the market that have the offset T-plate option,I'm specifically talking about Hyperdrive here.there is a difference between offsetting the t-pate and offsetting the whole rear pod, with some cars you can do one or the other or both.

What does it do to the handleing when you offset th T-Plate oppose to the Whole pod??? and what does just offsetting the pod do??? can you do both at the same timefor an even Greater change???

Offsetting the t-plate reduces steering going in and adds steering coming out.

The Darkside Enemy also offers the option of offsetting the T-plate....As well as the steering servo.

could someone give me an idea as to how much rear steer you might run on a tight radius flat track, 4 cell 19t. I want to try it but can't afford to buy all the rear steer slugs. Thanks Mike

hi all:i have been on the ksg website a number of times and i have noticed a few things?their 12th oval car isn't listed or pics of it.also no list of team drivers with race results and set up tips, that would be nice.ksg cars are good don't get me wrong but their website needs some work in my opinion.havea great day

I thought the same thing B-Man, but machine shop work should come before web site work for the KSG Boys, that pays the bills. Updates wouldn't hurt for sure.

I was wondering if KSG has any planned updates to their chassis?
And if the 1/12th scale is still available?

PACE
09-12-2005, 10:23 PM
ud21, if the track is really sticky(like a big event race)you can run the 1deg slug....but i suggest you to start with the 0.5deg slug and see from there....most of the time i use the 0.5 on a short tight track.

I begin to work on my KSG... Maybe it's a good car and it is first quality... But the instruction that come with it is certainly not first class...

The front end assembly used somme associated part and some KSG part, they don't mention the KSG steering block and only see it after I mount the front end with the stock associated one

Anyway, now I have to drill the frame for the servo block, but I don't want to mess it, I don't have a clue on where it should be place. I know the servo saver should be in the center but how far in front or how far in the back should I position the servo? Is the turnbukle suppose to have some angle when see from the top and also some angle when view from the front to?... and at what height shoud it be also? What is the best configuration?

You're help would be very apreciate because I can't find how with the intruction.

Thanks

Im not a expert or a good builder or racer lol.But here goes my 2 cents.I install my servo on the servo mounts first then i postion them on chassis.I tend to put a slight fowardly angle on the turnbuckles once in postion I scribe my marks for the holes to drill.I then use a counter sunk bit on botton for flush mounting.Hope this helps

MikeM

As far as the height of the servo, make the steering turnbuckles and the upper A arm angles be the same. The location front to back should be so there is a slight angle back ( on the turn buckles) from the steering servo to the steering block ball studs.

Thanks shrabber and MikeM,

When you tell to put a slight angle on the turnbuckles, how much aproximately in degree? Between o and 5, 5 and 10 or more?

Here is a servo mounting template. The dimension on this template mounts the servo .850 in. from the back mounting holes of the suspension arm. Some people use more angle and some less., but this is what I have always mounted mine at.

Hi there.............

Getting back into oval racing and just bought a new KSG Slider. Have never built a pan car before (used to run 4wd sedan oval at our track) and find the directions kinda "vague" in some areas.

Could someone post a few detailed pics of how your cars look ready to race.........battery trays, pod setups, servo location, etc?

Bumpers....do you guys run any foam on the front bumper?
Center shock....loose fit in the center aluminum shock holder.............what do I use to keep it from moving around?

Thanks for any help.........................have not had a chance to get to the track and check out the other racers yet.....................want to show up the first time with the car as complete as possible and get some run time on it :)

Lenny

BTW..............if you can not or do not want to post pics here, can you send them to my e-mail addy? Would appreciate any help :)
