Here is my modified TQ set-up from Tri-clone last summer.

KSG Slider chassis, short wheelbase, off-set pod. .060 shims on the RR, 1/2" hub and .250 spacer on the LR. .063 3/8" slot t-plate.

Red Front springs with Bolink Mega Lube on the pins. 3 1/2* camber in the RF 4+ in the LF. 4* castor RF, 2* LF. RF arm in the Bottome hole, LF arm in the middle hole with the toe-corrector.

Gold Silva Center spring(pre-loaded max) 50wt oil with #3 piston HPI shock, Shock mounted one hole forward on Chassis, 4th hole down, Center shock length(end to end) 3.100".

Side shocks with 40 wt. oil, second hole down w/ soft silver side springs(8lb.)

Ran Protoform HD Monte mounted back, center of the front of the body 1/4" infront of the graphite bumper, Big Bud's wing on the pod. I would stay with this for mod and 19t, might try a lower downforce body for stock, like a PF MD dodge or a CDI Tauras.

The handout tires were RF: blue S net, LF: Blue L, RR: Blue R Net, LR: Narrow Green L. Tire Break-in: 5 full runs with straight GM top engine cleaner. Clean thoroughly with Laquer thinner, than treat with a rubber cleaner(Cleaner for patching tires), then apply BSR Sure Grip per instructions, !after EVERY run!, i like to put each tire on a truer, get the rubber build up off with a scotch-brite pad, then clean with Rubber Prep, apply BSR Sure Grip per instructions and heat all 4 tires equally just before hitting the track.

This is also a the set-up i use at Storm Steel Raceway in Cedar Rapids, IA. Tire set-up is a little different, stock and 19t 0 Degree it okay with the above, Same with mod if it is cool out, hot track set-up is RF: Silver S Net, LF: Blue L, RR: Blue S Net, LR: Narrow Blue L.

I had a ksg I bought had the stock I believe lr hub it was slightly bent causing a wobble.I went to my local hs and picked up a l4 lr hub.I was wondering if any one here has used it (associated left rear hub) and to what sucess.

Hey was wondering if any of you guys are having a lack of adjustment in negative camber on right front?If i move the a-arm positioning to the botton naturaly I get more negative camber(screw is bottomed out on both sides).I was wondering if you have this problem what adjustments are you making thanks in advance Tim.

Run a shorter turnbuckle and you can grind away material on the eyelet and upper arm to give you more adjustment, we run as much as 5 degrees on cap tires at particular tracks.

Jeff, we ran .063 washers in the front #3 ride heights in the rear, make the center shock 3.100" in length then pre-load up the spring til the shock tops out.

So with the car sitting loaded with a battery, the spring is preloaded so that there is no back travel left ?? I.e. the shaft is fully extended such that if you pick the car up the pod doesn't go back at all ??

Are you pre-loading when the car is sitting on the tires with the battery in or with the car off the ground ?

I need a set-up for a 210 ft run line trioval slightly banked in the corners. Also a track this size, would you want to a run a long wheel base and maybe a protoform dodge?

danny i've got one more question for you?
what rear end spacing do i need for the cap tires on a slider car?
what does the total width need to be from outside to outside edge of the tires and from the centerline of the car to the outside edge of each tire?if you could tell me it would be a great help

is it concrete or asphalt, I would run a HDMC on that short of a paved track. I would probably run short there with a little rear steer. I run my KSG solid chassis short about everywhere I go and our local track is 305' in the runline. I tend to run my Hyperdrive cars long, personal preference mostly. Apicture of the track would probably get you a better answer.

Hey all I am looking to get back into oval as I am moving to a new location, I raced oval last back around 94 so I been away from it for awhile and been doing touring racing since. I was wondering what the likes and dislikes were from the solid chassie compared to the slider as I am looking to get a KSG in the next week. Thanks for all your help.

The KSG crew mostly runs the slider ...its a proven car on most surfaces and the only time I have run the one piece is at high bamked tracks either carpet or concrete....You will love the slider car .If you need any help from the TEAM drivers most come on here and will post most anything you will need....

Hello KSG nation. I was wondering if anyone running a KSG car was planning on a road trip to attend the Delaware Paved Oval Championship racing in June? If your interested here's a link to a home page that one of the local racers just started. The pictures are not the greatest but the track is as smooth as carpet. I have the worlds fastest Ksg I was clocked out @53 mph with a 7 single and 6 cell pack but guess what I woke up from dreamming lol

Anybody having problems with the KSG diff staying tightened up ?? I've had a couple times now where I've snugged it up and 2 heats later it needs to be tightened again.

Only problem I had with KSG axles were the diff ring circle on the axle itself stuck out too far. Way past the diff ring, and it scrubbed my spur gear.

I experienced that one...wasn't with a KSG axle though. It was the screw in the axle coming loose..cept it did it every run in modified though. You got anything funny in the diff, like a thrust or something? And are you using a good diff nut?

It's all stock KSG stuff in the diff and axle -- KSG axle, KSG diff cone, KSG hub, Kimbrough spur.

Good idea -- I'll check the threaded stud in the axle and throw a fresh nylon diff nut in it.

Yeah...I would just take it all apart and check the set screw deal. The make sure everything else looks good and bolt it back together with a new IRS nut.

Just wanna say i love my ksg had a l4 turning around 31 laps ksg now im turning 33 to 34

Jeff, most likely it is the threaded stud in the axle. they can come loose when the start to get old. If that's the case, get ahold on Andy, i'm sure they'll take care of it.

Norrca Nats: Marty Hillman Tq and win 19t, Andy Mac Tq and win Mod. Had a really fast car in the main but luck wasn't on my side.

Don't quote me on these, but here are some of the new stuff at KSG. D-ring hubs and axles(i believe these will be an in-run production change if they aren't already), Adjustable/personal Tx front bumper, cross brace stiffener/body post mounts. Not really sure when the last two will be available or whether they will be included in the kits or just hop-up parts.

Any idea if these new parts are out there yet? Also, someone at KSG needs to get on the website, if there are new parts we need to see them!!

vwal - the chassis, and body post mounts are available, but i'm not sure if anything else is right now

burbs - erock is right, you pretty much want a solid car up there in any class at bms. the fast guys are a second faster overall with a solid vs. a slider chassis

You really do want a solid chassis car for BMS, Wheelbase in the middle on both sides. Purple front springs, red side spring in the second hole down on the mounts. Off-set pod, .o63 solid t-plate. You'll want a non-high downforce body like a CDI Tauras or PF intrepid, mount the wing to the body with a 25lb TC spring in the center, Center shock like at 2.9". 2* camber on both sides in the front. 60wt in the center 30 wt in the sides. That should get you pretty close.

Danny you running the region race Aug, 6th? Also can you tell me what compounds I need in Mod at BMS??
