Mario , I just think the offset is easier to get hook up .,,,,,I have tried it both ways on the banked K and N and in Mod offset is faster ,19 turn straight up is faster .....Who knows ,if it works for you stick with it ....You guys race there 99percent of the time so if it aint broke why fix it ....

I was trying a offset rear pod this past weekend in 4 cell stock and I just couldn't get it to work. I run a really short track. (85 ft runline) Does anyone have any ideas. I lost 3 laps. Put the car back to straight up and gained them back.
What to most guys runs for bodies with the KSG on short flat tracks?
Thanks,

Get yourself the 1/2 degree rear steer slugs for the car.....try it offset....see if that helps.....I know it did for me, but I left them in when I went back to a 154ft track and I fought it cuz it wanted to turn all the time....If it still doesn't try the pod standard w/ rear steer

What is the latest news on the KSG? No one has said much lately.

Who has a good starting point for a KSG slider on a 120' flat track for 19t. Running BSR tires.

Rupert, You may want to try this and work from there.
Green rt frt spring
Red lft frt
reds on the sides if track bite is high 30wt
silva silver top spring 40wt with #3 piston(hpi)
12.5 lr weight
batteries at .575 to .600 you will have to test
I ran protoform dodge with this at the birds in expert 19T
I'm on jaco tires, so you may have to adjust this some

Would 1/2 degree rear steer be helpful on a flat carpet track aprox. 125ft with fairly tight corners? Better offset or centered?

Thanks

RC

Since the car has alot of turning ability already in it...it was designed to turn on a dime......on short tracks 125ft or less in my personal opinion would be alright. I run on 146ft track weekly and found the rear steer slugs not to my liking at all. I went back to the zero degree slugs against my friends wishes tonight, and they did some serious wrenching on my KSG for me, and with the 3 of us taking turns driving it....we got it down to 4.01's (4 cell stock) but not consistent even with zero degrre slugs. Might be tires for me who knows.. For our style track we tried adding weight, taking it away and it still was handful for me to drive with rear steer...
So I guess if you think you can hold onto it, and finesse the car around the track go for it, but I tend to drive the cars really hard......

Thanks for the info Kris. I'll try it and see what happens. . You run your pod offset or centered?

RC

My friends tell me I should get off the offset pod idea, and go centered ....but I just don't know about that. But with their help and there setup ideas we got it to run 2-4 laps of 4.01's and they say centered pod . So we will prolly do that.....but rear steer was a headache for me...

Just wondering what you guys run the rear track width? 200mm or bigger.
I can't get mine under 203mm. I'm running a straight up pod, bsr tires, irs d ring axle setup.

Thanks to the Andy, Jimmy, and Mrs. Becky!

Team KSG took the win in both 19 turn and Stock this weekend at the Arcor Open. Every class had KSG pilots throughout the top 10!

The KSG car is just an amazing car!

Thanks for everything!

When running a sway bar on flat carpet tracks are most guys keeping their side shock springs the same or going a bit softer?

In Stock Zach Messenger (1st) Nick Ellis (3rd) and Lauren Liehr (4th) all had solid KSG's. But as Rocket said in 19 turn and Mod it was mostly sliders.

Thanks

Adam -- thanks a bunch for the reply.

Now I'm wondering the reason why the slider worked better for 19T and the solid worked better in stock. Do you know why ?

Thanks again.

My 2 cents is that in stovck you need a very aggressive car and the Solid car is very agressive ...I had a few runs with a solidcar and had to take dual rate out of the car is was so aggressive ..

Track record in stock and 19t was set with a slider car by the flying pumpkin.since then i know in stock the solid chassis has came within 1 second of that.in 19t the locals dont really run the solid chassis on a regular basis to compare but i know mario had some real good runs with one on a weekly show in 19t.

Rick, run a 3/8 fiberglass t-plate, off-set pod, Silva gold center spring, 60wt oil, soft silver sides, 40wt oil. Green RF spring, Red LF spring. Run LF arm in middle hole, and the RF in the bottom hole. I like to run "S"s on the right side and "L"s on the left. Three blues and a narrow green LR is a pretty good starting point at most tracks. If you have any specific tracks in mind, i may be able to give some more details.

thanks danny , that sounds like a good starting point!! as far as the tires are you talking Bsr's and the t-bar are you talking about a 3/8 slotted?? and is my car capable of offset pod out of the box or do i need to get additional parts, if so do i need the left toe corrector? so i can go ahead and order what i need. i really appreciate your help!!!!!

Hey Danny --

Why the 3/8" slot t-plate vs. a solid bias cut or a straight cut t-plate ???

Thx

Danny B
04-07-2005, 02:35 PM
RickK, you will need to get a pair of off-set hubs to make the car off-set, everything else just slides over. Yes, .063 3/8" slotted t-plate, Yes to the BSR's, also i always run nets on the right side tires and non-nets on the left.

Jeff, big thing on caps is keeping the tires on the track, soft t-plate and springs and stiffer oils than you run on carpet.

Chuck, i ran the slider chassis, seems like it is best all around. I probably could have run the solid chassis, but you can get a little more left side weight with the slider and you have the option of moving the battery.
