Just got a ksg sway bar kit and was wanting to know which bar to start with? I run red springs up front right now. The track is 120ft runline flat bullring style track.

thanks
bmcallister01@aol.com
I have been running two white springs and the .070 bar.

Where are guys running the centered pod and where are you running it offset... and why ??

Seems to be very few running it centered... just wondering why.

Thx in advance.

Thx in advance.Jeff,

I have two cars, one I run centered for running stock. Why I just like the feal better. The other car I run offset for 19t and open mod. To help it turn in the middle of the corner. I run them this way on any size track.

Thx Jason --

I'm running stock and 19T zero degree -- short 120' flat carpet track.

I've only ever run my Hyperdrive offset and I was toying with the idea of trying the KSG centered.

From what I understand run the car offset on flat sweeping tracks and centered on banked paperclip, tight type tracks.I've tried offset on banked tracks and it's a handfull of either tight or loose no in between.

Hi Jeff, we run ours centered for both stock and 19T. I like to make the left side of our cars square ( to start anyway) and centered is the only way to do it without cutting the LR tire.

Hey --

Tire question for the KSG ...

Where do you guys run whites/grays in the rear and where do you run pinks in the rear ??? I'm referring to Jaco tires -- just trying to get a handle on where pinks in the rear would work better than whites or grays.

Thanks in advance.

Krisfo

I really don't have a preference......I hear some guys start out with 3 pinks and a purple.......everywhere

On a farely "slick" (wornout carpet) it seems I get a good handle on things with a cut down lr and a standard rr white......

And on a track with lotsa bite same tires width setup just maybe a white and a black......or a grey/black.......

Just depends on how loose the car feels........or free.......

Generally you dont need pinks in anything but Mod...I always run white/gray rear and gray/black fronts in 19 turn on flat tracks. Pinks give you more forward bite (no wheel spin off the corner and more skatie side to side) whites/grays give you more side bite and kinda drive anywhere you point it (they make the car feel a little more on edge).

Hope this helps

Jeff,

I like to run 3 Pinks and a Black RF in 19t and mod. I haven't ran gray and a white in a long time. In stock I like running Aqua RR and a Green LR, black RF and a Green LF. All Jaco tires.

for Mod nothing beats the 3 JACo pinks and a purple RF tire ...

In 19turn and stock the black RF and grey LF ,Grey RR and white LR seems to be the ticket everywhere but SNOWBIRDS>???

Around 70 to 90 ft runline...Grey ozite carpet, I do have some ideas but would like to here some of yours and see if I'm anywhere near where I should be thinking.....Thanks a bunch, some of the others ideas have been very helpful!!!!!!!

Pink LF Purple RF, White springs across the front. Plantnium LR Pink RR Softest springs on all 3 shocks and #20 or #15 shock oil. Batteries all the way forward and out. Works best with a non-winged car. Very little steering.

I would run your car with White Wolfe Springs .010 preload and castor at -4RF and -2LF cambers should be _1 rf and +1.25 LF .....Run .160 of shims under the front arms to lower th car as far as possiable ,[but still pass tech]

Tiresfor the car #pinks JACOS 2.20 and a Purple RF 2.20

Center shock 55 wt oil and a number 2 piston in an HPI shock with a HPI gold 11.5 lb spring ..Run the shock 3 holes from the top and shock length is 2.950 inches from end to end.....

Sides I would run 2 blue side springs with 30wt oil run the shcoks so you do not preload them I always run my shock collars all the way out to the ends of the threads and then adjust tweak needs from there ....

RUn the car offset with the LR in as far as possiable Ride Hieght in the rear is number 2 adjustors withthe bearing up ....

I like Protoform bodies and would run the new MD dodge to get front bite and still be fast down the straight [not much of that ]

Good Luck and I am hopeful you will love your KSG as much as I do mine ..

TGM, Get a hold of the ovalmaster he has one and he may be able to give you some pointers.

Well I just bought a ksg slider w/ swaybar and love it. First time out on a new track I qualified 3rd and this is traveling 5 hrs from home. Next day qualified 2nd and beat the track record. I was impressed. Thanks to the guys at ksg for building a great car.

gezer2u, I ran the swaybar this weekend and never soften my springs than guys that didn't have it. I run the .70 bar so maybe that is why but I had a friend run the .100 bar with the same spring setup. You will just have to try it.

Just a note: At the Iroar race in Vinton, Iowa yesterday KSG had 7 out of 8 in the A main of the 19-0 class with 19 cars entered, and KSG in 1st through 7th. And in the open Mod A main 7 out of 8 were also KSGs, also 1st through 7th.

A very good showing for a great car.

Thanks KSG.

Anyone have any banked carpet oval setups they want to share?? Slider chassis offset or centered? Long wheel base vs. short? Open mod. Offset seems to have no middle ground it is tight then as work the chassis close to neutral its loose just from what I have seen. Anyone??

I had the KSG that won the 19-0 class and it was built in 30 minutes the morning of the race and it now holds the track record!!! Great cars!!!

Jay, if I was trying to free up a car for stock I would prolly do it with tires...just my opinion though.
