Is it new to have oval classes at this event? I thought it was road course only in the past. I could be wrong....

It has been brought to my attention that the schedule mailed out with the entry form is incorrect. We inadvertently sent a draft, rather than the final "tentative schedule" DOH!! The correct schedule can be found at www.indoorchamps.net. I apologize for any confusion.

Why is there hardly any - very little - oval support or talk here? I still didn't get the story about what happened last year. Like I said, I would've thought that this race would be talked about six months ago...

Yep, I'm over there, too, John, but apparently last year was so bad for oval that NO ONE is talkin'...

WHAT HAPPPENED last year that was "so bad"...?? Just curious to find out *why* no one wants to talk...

Maybe because theres nothing TO talk about, you seem set on stirring something up.

I don't think Jimmy is stirring the pot, he really just wants to know. This event is good for on-road, but is not for oval. No one is even on here to try and promote it for oval.

And I'll say this..... If you're not there to participate, you'll be missing a great race and a chance to have a wonderful time with a fantastic group of racers that love our hobby.

Yeah, yeah...... Which reminds me....... I think you should add the
spec truck class to race in. That is unless you're afraid of losing to me! :p

Racers,

Oval turnout has been quite a bit less than expected. While I would prefer to continue offering Oval racing, without significantly higher numbers it seems impossible to do so. We have decided to wait until Saturday to cancel the Oval portion of the program. Provided that by Saturday we have received enough Oval entries to warrant including the program at The Champs, we will GLADLY do so.

For those of you who have already signed up, we apologize, and will of course refund your entry fees, should we be forced to cancel.

Copied from the Champs thread on RCTech.......

Oval has officially been cancelled for this year's Champs. Unfortunately, we didn't receive enough entries to allow for an efficient program.

In light of this development, the track will be run in the more traditional clockwise direction. We will begin practice at 1:30 Thursday in keeping with the originally posted schedule, so no one is required to change their travel plans. We'll run the first round, break for the Wings/Nachos/Door prize drawings, then continue on with rounds two and three.

We'll run three qualifiers Friday, three on Saturday, then Mains on Sunday.
