View Full Version : Track information
carplace 02-26-2011, 10:00 PM Our racing facility and track are located behind my primary business:
The Car Place/Granger Raceway
51465 Bittersweet Rd.
Granger, IN. 46530
www.grangerraceway.com
You can find much more information there and can also register online.
Our track measures 100' x 200' and is generally very fast and flowing. We have a great huge drivers stand that is 12' high to the deck and is covered to keep the glare down on bright days. Lots of pit power is available and we have great irrigation for watering and washing.
Typical race days include both nitro and electric, 10th and 8th scales and have a decent turnout of both.
Open practice Wednesday from 5:00-9:00, $5.00
Racing Saturdays: track opens at 8:00, racing at 11:00 - $15 first entry, $10 2nd, $5 each after that.
Please feel free to ask any questions here, you will receive a quick and friendly response.
See Ya Trackside Soon

bossfunk 01-08-2012, 10:29 PM It's been a LONG time since I have raced. I'm trying to learn all the new tchnologies that have come out since the ol days and I have a few questions:
Does Granger race stock 2wd buggy?
What is rookie class? Does it allow every class of vehicle?

We will race any class that has at least 5 entries for the day. That said, very few are racing stock buggy. Mod buggy is having a decent comeback and I expect us to have a class of them for sure in 2012.
Rookie is generally for the inexperienced and limited to 10th scale vehicles (we don't want an inexperienced pilot running a full-tilt 8th scaler for safety concerns). Rookie/ novice is run what you brung.
Feel free to bounce questions, you will get lots of help and we look forward to having you trackside soon!

bossfunk 01-08-2012, 11:01 PM Well I'm just trying to figure out what to buy. I REALLY like the rc10b4.1 factory buggy but i don't want to waste my money on something i can't race. I have a limited budget so modified is out of the question...for now
I see that sc trucks are huge now but to be honest, i'm not too interested in them and i don't want to race with a bunch of other trucks all at once. How bout stadium trucks?? Any other 1/10 scale class you would suggest???
Thanks for the help!!!
bossfunk 01-08-2012, 11:03 PM forgot to ask this too...
can stadium trucks run with SC or is that not allowed?

The B4 would be a good choice and you can always run a stocker in the mod class. The 10th scale buggies are probably the least forgiving (most difficult) to drive. As far as racing with a bunch of trucks, Stock SC usually has about 8-10 trucks per heat. On our track (125' x 200') that means not too much in the way of traffic. Stadium trucks race with stadium trucks and that class is typically mod also.
Here are the anticipated classes for 2012:
Rookie
Stock SC
4x4 SC
Mod Buggy
Mod Truck
8th E. Buggy
8th Nitro Buggy
As I stated earlier, we will run any classes that have at least 5 entries for any given day. Get the one that you will enjoy racing. My suggestion is Stock SC. They are easy to drive, there will always be a class to race against (no matter if it's with us or at another track) and parts are readily available.

I bet we'll have plenty of stock (blinky 17.5) and probably also mod for 1/10th buggy.
Since we are expecting a lot more 10th scalers this year the track will be tamed down a bit from the supercross we have now. I have some killer layouts in mind for this summer that will be flowing and super fast.
