What to say,.......about a place that one has spent a fair portion of his or her life,....racing,...meeting quality people,......I have done both here! But to say,not only have I completely enjoyed my experience there, this venue provided not only racing, but a wholesome escape from the woes that life sometimes brings. Not just for myself, but for others close to me. For that,....Thank you very much! To Big Don,Greg,Katie, little Greg,Gene, David, and others who have been there,........A very merry Christmas!!! It doesn't matter how bumpy the track is,nor does it matter how the lighting is,.....it's Hobby World! It's a great place! I know one who will always remember this,.......Thank you again!

Sweet deal, Glad to see the motors are working, I talked to Dan and he would of been fast but he had the motor over geared. He had it geared for one of his "slow" motors. I think that he will do pretty go next week,(I gave him a little better gearing.)

Are you going to race at the birds?

P.S. Greg has 4 or 5 of my motors that are already tuned that I am wanting sold so let every one know.

Bear-
I'm not going right now. I'll get another car built just for Tuffy's track before I'll go. Tom should be there along w/Malin,Conlee,Tuffy & Dad (of course!). Not sure who else might be there. From what I heard, tires of choice are: Red fronts,Purple rears. (foams)

I'll be there as soon as I get Katfish's old KGB car put together!

-George

BTW- I was riding in second in Friday's A-main until I got ran into accidentally & broke an axle. Just my luck! Ahhh,no biggie though-just hard racing. I'll get it fixed for next time!!

I know that Tuffy and Leon have some spec cars/trucks I'm not sure about Leroy. So far I tried the 22x81 legends gears and they are a tad faster than the legends. The take-off is alittle slow.I haven't talked to Frank because he's out of town-He'll be back Saturday I think. I'm open of any ideas .We could all meet and talk about it.

Joe I've got the Bolink chassis - with spec batteries( since the new one's aren't out yet). The spec motor with "s" brushes.I also ran blue fronts with green rears )spec tires-anybody's right now. We'll talk about it some more this weekend. I'll also thinking about the Eddie Herrmann Cup Legends series. See I knew you couldn't quit- it's infected your brain!

This is for Joespec: Well I did it -ordered a real Oval car from Bolink/Racetech. It will be awhile before it made because it will be there new car. What is this world coming to? See you Sunday There is something else about the new track but I can't say for now.

12-19-2002, 08:28 PM
For what it is worth... I have heard many people at the track ask about CPT and what is going on there... well I was in the area the other day so I decided to swing by and take a look in the window... there are still sone shelving fixtures there and the track is still in place looking as good as ever. Man it just pissed me off though sitting it sit there, know we could race there if we only had a key. That is the way the ball bounces but I tell you what... I wish it were back. Anyway, thought some of you would like to know that nobody has demolished it yet.

One more thing... I will have a Novak N-Power and a LRP Pulsar Competition Charger available for sale in the next few days for those who are interested. The charger has a dis-charge and motor-run feature as well. These items are only a couple of months old and will be sold pretty cheap. My new power supply and Turbo 35 are under the tree. :D

hey greg

keep the chargers. you can always use 2. i use my novak to charger and the turbo 30 to discharge and run motors. plus when I get there I like to put 2 batteries on so I can get 2 practice runs in. I make changes at home to the car and test them in the first practice and make a change if need for the second one.

Greg (touring)-
Also the good thing about 2 chargers & pwr supplies is that you'll always have a spare/backup-just in case! Something I've learned from playing in rock bands for many, many years-you can't always have too many spares!! I too have a Novak for charging stuff, whether it's Spec packs or 3300's when my GM Commander is in use for other clandestine uses! Also if anyone's in a tough bind,I'll have another charger open to help them get through the night. (ask Bob & Chris Mason!) Make sure you thank Santa for the T-35 & pwr supply!!! Keep the LRP & N-Pwr in your trunk!

are absolutely right! I'm an R/C addict! Have been for a long time,if I could have stayed in this thing continuously, who knows how much stuff I could have collected by now? Fact of the matter is,I knew what my new job would entale,as far as time is concerned, and instead of just letting my stuff just sit there, and not get used,I tried to come up with a good deal for someone, which I have always done in the past.I started in 85'with a certain someone that only Bill and Tom know,by the way,Bill,.......Mike is now a correctional officer in Tampa! Yikes!! Who would've figured that one? Anyway,....it's no good to have stuff,if you can't use it.But now that there is another place in town, that might be more conducive to my freakish schedule, then you can bet that I will obtain new gear, and rub fenders again with a group of some of the finest people I have ever met! Hey Bill,........I appreciate the info on the thunder trucks!! That Bolink chassis you are using,.......is it a spec chassis,or will any do? Got to leave for Miami sunday night, hope to make it back by Christmas eve,...........have a safe and joyous holiday to everyone!

Congratulations on your acquisition of a new oval car!! If your capabilities with this are of equal with your 1/12 scale driving, then we are in for a surprise! It's always better when you build them from the start. Speaking of Bolink,...I think that both you know, and I know, for the money,no one can do better than a Bolink car,....Period! It would be nice if the typical ground-swell of R/C popularity would raise up this company as well,to the promenence that it deserves,...........Go Legends! I think that this will be my next, first new car,......but the thunder trucks have my interest big-time! Nothing like squeezing the throttle for all that it's got, with four fenders,..........rubbing! Sounds like a race to me! I'm just sitting here, grinning like a jackass eating briars, thinking of you racing oval! You got a head start on me,I haven't one to build yet,but the miles are coming in fast,so the shopping list is being formulated now!

Yes it is the Bolink spec chassis.I've had to change afew parts on the dif. I was hoping you would be coming by with yours so we could compare what we want to be legal.I guess will talk later.I can't believe Mike is a correction officer- what's the world coming to?As we know Mike this will last for how long?

joespec
12-21-2002, 07:13 PM
I think that it should last for a long while for Mike,he is now a single parent, with an adorable 10 year old daughter,.....he spent a year trying to get on the force,......and he also has a photography business,...which is kind of on hold, for his real job. I had to just be very proud of him,he has come a long way from his,"rebel without a cause"past,.........who knows? On to racing,.......what is the drive-line at the Carrigg's track? What is his address? My e-mail is jhadnot@mindspring.com. If you think that the Legends class will be bigger, then I will buy this, but you tell me,so I can make the next purchase a good one,not that any of them haven't been,LOL! Got's to have more toys,......you know..:D

HAHAHAHA! The Camaro's already full!! My gosh! All of the sudden, there's 3 venues that I (and a lot of others!) could race at every weekend in Jacksonville: Hobby World on Friday nights,Autohaus/Kmart every other Saturdays and Tuffy's (AKA Palm Valley Speedway) on Sundays! I may just have to get one of those new Futaba "radar guns" 'cause I could only fit 3 setups into the memory. I would need 3 more spaces for the Spec car!

Bullfrog-
Special thanks to you for the invite to Tuffy's. Also, please give my sincere thanks to the Carigg family next time you see them for having us (me,Bob & Chris) over to their house for some great racing action and for their hospitality! You couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people anywhere than the Carigg's!! I'll have to miss this Sunday (12/29) so I could gather up parts & finish building the former Katfish KGB ride & have it set-up exclusively for PVS. Everyone have a Merry Christmas-I'll see y'all soon!!!!

NFLRC's has its race every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at K-mart, not every other weekend. Hate to have someone show when NFLRC was not running that weakend.

Only dates that would effect the normal 2nd and 4th race dates, would be the holidays and if a major holiday fell on Saturday. You can always check www.nflrc.com for race dates and times if you have any questions or ask me next time you see me.

Just want to say Happy Holidays and an even better New Year to everyone. I've had a great time racing with and getting to know you all on a personal level.

I sometimes step back to see the reactions and looks on peoples faces at race events in JAXS. The smiles, the oooooh's, the aaaaagh's, the on the edge of your seat driving for first and second places, and the underlining meaning of it all....... FUN! It makes me feel good to say Im part of the R/C community in JAXS.

Happy Holidays and have a great New Year,
