hey Guys this is hard for me to do but I must do the right thing and let everybody know. that 12th scale that Todd Malone was trying to sell friday night was stolen. (see stolen 12th scale in the on road section) when I told Todd he said he bought it off a guy on rctech.net and for me to call him sat and he'll give me his name and email. well when I went home I searched all the web boards for a car matching this cars description. couldn't find one any where. strike one against Todd. Todd also said that the Reedy mod motor in the car was a friends. well in the descript of the car on the stolen thread you guessed it a reedy mod strike 2 against Todd. so I call him all day SAT with no call back from Todd strike 3 against Todd. Finally I call his parents on Sunday and told his mom. then called Todd and he answered only to tell me that he has sold the car on the internet and leave him alone. Strike 4 your out!!!!!!!!! It seems that our friend Todd Malone isn't as nice of a guy as we thought. If you see him at the track watch your stuff and don't buy anything from him it might be hot!!!!!!!!!!!!

let me add that I talked with David Lee and he described the exact car that was in my hands friday night so it was the stolen car.

i agree, anyone that gets caught stealing or selling hot stuff at the track ,, they should be banned.

Man I f'in hate thievesChris- Yes,it has happened @ HW on several occasions over the years! Rob even had his wallet,cell phone & some Spec tires disappear once. You also hear about the same happening at any track in the country!
We've had this discussion before here. IMO,we all need to look after each other's stuff! If you are going to be away from your pits,be it going to the store or going up to practice/race,make sure you know the racers around you. Ask him/her/them if they'll watch your stuff. And return the favor when they leave for the store/driver's stand. If ya see someone unfamiliar crusing the pits,keep a close watch on that person. If you still have a bad feeling about that person(s),let Hart or the hobby shop know and they'll take the necessary steps.

Think of it as a sort of an "HW community watch program". We all know how much $$ we've invested in this hobby to race. It would suck to have it stolen because someone doesn't have the $$ or won't spend the $$ to get their own stuff!

Dave the car you described, was it the one taken from this years snowbirds? The is a mention of a car being taken down there this year and a police report was filed with the department down there. Check the r-ctech bbs they did mention it, if my memory is right.

I agree, somebody like that isn't welcomed anywhere! Like George mentioned everybody watch after each other.

100% positive that the car Todd had is David Lee's stolen 12th scale. and seeing as his story has changed Twice now you make the call. another thing that bothers be is he finds a car and takes it home with him instead of giving it to Mike????? sounds fishy to me!!!! top it all off he has now sold the car knowing that it was David's car.

I kind of agree with Phil, I hope you are right Dave P. This is pretty serious stuff bro. I for sure don't want to see a person stealing our stuff, just let the police handle it and give them a call.

I think the topic of the car should be left to the proper authorites to handle, and not in this form.

Finding a proper authority to take jurisdiction on this is going to be tough. I hear the guy that lost the car lives in Ohio. It was stolen (oops, I mean "found unattended in an unlocked room") in Orlando. The guy was trying to sell it in Jacksonville and wound up selling it on the Internet.

Its probably not worth enough to even be a felony.

There's not much anyone can do about the car, but its important that our awareness gets ratcheted up a couple notches to make sure it doesn't happen here.

With all the spectators we've had lately, I've been thinking it would be a good idea to put up some kind of barrier tape to keep folks back a few feet from our pits. This incident shows that it might be a good idea.

Well looks like the regulars here had their say about last Friday night at HW. We are missing Mr. Butts (tm) long awaited version of the racing that took place. Can't wait till he puts it down. Some of us (me) don't get to watch most of the races because of running two classes breaking t-plates, losing screws, breaking a body post, etc. ;) Oh, I'd like to hear about the Dave and Dave show in legends.

I have an eight year old who really wants to race, but there is no beginners class. So, I was wondering when he comes with me this Friday and takes his basic street spec car what will class can he race. I am assuming Pro Spec BUT his driving skills are not or close to the level of the other drivers. I would like him to race with the legends but we don't have that chassis or can he race with them.

My 8 year old ran in our 7.0 class Sunday for the first time, he did real well, it was a hoot!

19t Jerry Parrott tqued and won plus layed down a 36 lap run

spec I don't know who won because Jason had a body hang up and stopped in the entry to turn 3 for me to fix it I has hopping around like a cirus clown dodging cars.

in touring Bear tqued but tagged a pipe early allowing me and My TEAM ASSOCIATED TC3 to cruise to a easy win

The trouble with kids racing is at HW we do not have many kids that race, but if we have three or more we will be glad to make a heat so that the kids can race. I would love to have a class for the kids. It will be a good tool for parnts to bribe them into doing well in school and at home. I know that most of the guyes in Pro-Spec would not mind getting rid of an old Spec car. Regular Street Spec would be a good beginers class or ledgens. If you have any more ideas please e-mail me I will take the idea to HW & the rest of the racers. :)

I don't think it is a matter of If he stole it when he admites to finding it and taking it home. That is stealing! He knew it was not his and made a half azz atttempt to find the owner. He stole it and he know's it!

4 cell stock or a run what yah brung on the little oval. is a excellent kids class. once the legends kits start hitting the stores then legends

There is alot of good ideas there. I will be more then glad to run A run what you brung class for the kids. Also we will be getting up A regular schedule for Sunday very soon. We will be off this sunday and will race 05/09/04. :thumbsup:

i also think a novice class would work good on the short oval for the kids,, it being a novice class it could be a stock motor and run what you brung. i have two boys 3,5, right now but in a year or two i want to start the abc with my oldest one.

Actually in stock I think it was Michael Short that finished second in the main.
With all the other things goin on on here I didnt really feel like doing the typical long winded write up on friday nights racing. I say lets race and let everything else work it's way out.

Hey guys after talking to Phillip about the 19t class he mentioned that alot of you guys want to open up the class to any 19t motor,c-2 arcor or whatever,this would be fine after the point series.We should discuss this topic at our next drivers meeting this friday and take a vote,I will leave this issue up to you the racers.
