Kevin What are the times for oval practice there and days,price?Kevin- The times for practice for either oval or TC are the same as the store hours (Mon-Sat:10A to 8P/Sun:12P to 5P). Price is $5 for all day. -George bigdon18 04-20-2004, 11:32 AM george, you have a pm,, lmk back via pm. thanks BIGDON irvan36mm 04-20-2004, 12:15 PM george, you have a pm,, lmk back via pm. thanks BIGDONDon- Back at ya! -George Shumacher 99 04-20-2004, 08:06 PM points?? Hope everyone comes out for some daytime action before it is given up on totally. Some people cant or dont want to race on friday nights so lets have a nice turn out. I too agree that the entry fee could be eased up on sundays since theres no points and therefore no plaques to buy or any other awards but none of us on here have any control over that now do we? Since we now have a pretty strong base of racers in Pro-spec, stock and 19t , anybody want to try 4cell open mod some race day/night? Hmmm? Who'd be the first to run a sub 6 second lap on the big track? Shumacher 99 04-21-2004, 07:27 AM Dont forget everyone, Points racing friday night and then we're racing sunday too. Who'd be the first to run a sub 6 second lap on the big track? I was just telling Chris this exact same thing the other night. The classes are so big that it would be really cool to see an open mod class start up. I for sure would be hard pressed not to buy an oval car then lol. shawnleary 04-21-2004, 11:07 AM Shu, Points are posted whenever I get to it. Usually sometime during the week. 6-cell spec 19t sounds like fun to me George. I talked to Tom about it. 2400 or 3000 stick packs. ;) rcgen 04-21-2004, 12:56 PM I am currently working on another oval car, batteries finally came in (4cell), mods from the good ole dirt days (need work). I'll be ready to run something different. red201 04-21-2004, 01:41 PM how many do you think may be there sunday? Shumacher 99 04-21-2004, 02:09 PM Shu, Points are posted whenever I get to it. Kevin Kevin's RC Oval Site/Branford RC Speedway (http://www.kevinsrc.tk) shawnleary 04-21-2004, 09:17 PM Points are up on the site, only three races left, some of us have a lot of catching up to do if we want one of those enscribed and lamenated pieces of particle board. rcovalracer 04-21-2004, 09:46 PM Points are up on the site, only three races left, some of us have a lot of catching up to do if we want one of those enscribed and lamenated pieces of particle board. What places receive plaques (particle board) after the series? When is the next Sunday race after the points series? Is there time to run another class (Nastruck) @ HW on Sundays? Anyone else interested? BryanW92 04-21-2004, 10:04 PM What's the difference between Nastruck and the other three oval classes (other than the body, of course)? rcovalracer 04-21-2004, 10:14 PM I run a diff. setup on my L3 truck, they have alot less downforce than those of car,and it is a little slower, slower on the big oval would be better for beginners? Other than the bodys, not much. JMO... irvan36mm 04-22-2004, 12:08 AM What places receive plaques (particle board) after the series? When is the next Sunday race after the points series? Is there time to run another class (Nastruck) @ HW on Sundays? Anyone else interested?Kevin- 1st,2nd & 3rd place points finishers in all classes receive a plaque. The next Sunday race after the series would be May 9th? As for Nastruck, there may be a couple of people interested, but I'm not sure. (our trucks were 6-cell & stock motor) Last time we tried it,we started out w/6 drivers. After the 3rd race we had 3. When that series was done,we had 2 left. :( -George shawnleary 04-22-2004, 12:26 AM 6-cell 19t Truck series!!!! rcovalracer 04-22-2004, 04:34 AM 6-cell 19t Truck series!!!!6 cell 19T, sounds like fun to me.. :) Plus it is a additional $15 bucks, maybe to pay someone to put up the lights in turn 3 :p .. Series would be nice, but allready slim on time for Friday nights though, what if the people wanted to run Nastruck during a Sunday raceday? Mods are not good for beginners either, unless you put a fixed gear on them.. rcgen 04-22-2004, 08:17 AM Let's go for it Nastruck race. Slap a truck body on your pan chassis and go. No need for setup just minor changes. Handling is alot different but fun. Hey Kevin if you run truck at HW be sure to bring the transformer body. They would enjoy that over here. Sunday races would be great for the truck classes... Shumacher 99 04-22-2004, 02:29 PM Let's go for it Nastruck race. Slap a truck body on your pan chassis and go. I really want to run in this class (Truck) Please tell me we are going to do this  David Butts 04-22-2004, 03:04 PM [QUOTE=rcovalracer] Plus it is a additional $15 bucks, maybe to pay someone to put up the lights in turn 3 :p .. Kevin, An additional entry at hw is only $5 on the same day/night. but I really think we're at the limit as far as classes right now. Man O man if we added another one at the rate it takes to get what we run done now we'd all be there overnight. It'd be kinda like a mini snowbirds only without the winghouse girls. Plus I was in the store yesterday and one of the owners brought up getting the lights(more of them)put up soon. Jeesh it's only been since october now. Shumacher 99 04-22-2004, 04:33 PM Well If we put more cars on the track per race we should be ok. What do we run now 6 or maybe 8 cars . why not 10 ?? the track is big enough. may need to learn to drive through traffic real quick. Or are we only putting as little as possiable out there so someone can break the track record every Fri.. , what happen to racing one another, fighting through traffic and fast pitstops... lol I'm all for racers coming out and racing but they don't make Legends anymore how much longer are we going to do that class. If they break how are they buying parts??? 4-cell stock truck would be really fun to race and watch. 2-cents rcovalracer 04-22-2004, 04:59 PM Posted By David Butts: Man O man if we added another one at the rate it takes to get what we run done now we'd all be there overnight. Do we have time for another class? rcgen 04-22-2004, 05:49 PM I believe we have plenty of time on Sunday...the only problem is getting the word out on which Sundays we race so the other races will know. Sunday, April 25, 2004 @ 2:00 pm race day. Some verify the time. I am not to sure. Sunday's race is usually like Friday nights w/the touring nitro(if enough). Also, this is suppose to be the Sunday the kids and/or begginners race too. bigdon18 04-22-2004, 06:03 PM David , man your still in shock from last weeks turn out,,, lol. BIGDON http://thercedge.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif davepull 04-22-2004, 06:52 PM I agree with butts we are there way to late on friday night and need to run a tighter show davepull 04-22-2004, 06:54 PM sorry butts (tm) David Butts 04-22-2004, 08:14 PM I agree that the sundays that are raced on should be a little looser and that the non mainline classes should be run then but there just has'nt been the turnout that was expected. The first couple of sundays we had fair turnout but it's dwindled to where the last couple have'nt had enough people show up to race at all. I dont get it at all as I for one dont like getting home at 1:45 friday night/saturday morning and I live just 20 minutes from the track. The problem is that it seems that no one wants to give up their sunday lawn duties or whatever. Lawn mowing is not nearly as fun as racing is. rcovalracer 04-22-2004, 08:32 PM I will come on Sundays when the points series is over,I will alternate Fri./Sun. JMO,maybe there will be more racers on Sunday after the points series.. I was just curious if there was time on Sundays to run another class..And if anyone else was interested.. I for one don't want to stay any later on Friday nights...;) Kevin Shumacher 99 04-22-2004, 08:49 PM I agree that the sundays that are raced on should be a little looser and that the non mainline classes should be run then but there just has'nt been the turnout that was expected. The problem is that it seems that no one wants to give up their sunday lawn duties or whatever. Lawn mowing is not nearly as fun as racing is. If we raced on sat or sun and not fri. then it wouldn't be an issue on how late we stay. racing until 1:00 am is way late. If you get up at 5;00 am then race until 1;00 am then I'm up almost 24 hours straight. Why don't we just friggin race during the day and have all day to take as much time as we need? I just don't get why we HAVE to do it on a Fri. night. Even in the friggin winter at when it's 30 below and snow flurries we would be friggin racing on fri. night?????? This is the only track that I have ever known that does this. And I just don't get it. And the reason noone shows up on sun is because they are still asleep from fri. night BryanW92 04-22-2004, 09:17 PM If we want more racing on Sunday, then we need to organize a Sunday points series. Right now, Sunday racing means that you have to get the Passenger Side Air Bag to agree that you really NEED to race on Friday night (that's the points race) and then again all day on Sunday. Trying to justify this usually gets you "the look" and the "oh sure, go racing if you think you need to." If we have a Sunday points championship, then some of us will probably just skip Friday night and concentrate on Sunday racing. I get up at 5 am on Friday too and the late night racing is tough, but its the only points series there is. Without the points on Sunday, its just practice! But, if I had my choice, I really rather run on Saturday night instead of Friday night or Sunday afternoon. wade 04-22-2004, 09:41 PM Last Friday up at 5am work by 6am drove truck with trailer to work left work at 5pm arrived H.W. track at 6:45 pm raced till 1am Sat arrived home 4am Sat back at work at 3pm Sat left work at 1am Sun up at 7am sun left for Branford at 8:30 am Sun arrived Branford at 9:45 am raced till 6pm arrived home at 8pm sunday night Back at work at 5am Monday morning Broke the chassis in half Fri night/ still cant see in turn 3 Keyence speedo took a dump Sunday battery for the a-main on Sunday false peaked I made 2 laps in the main GOING FISHING THIS WEEK-END PRAYING THE BOAT DON'T SINK You guys are getting the program together in Jax. and HW HAS always raced on Fri. night even back when it was Dirt. I personally dont see that changing. I will try and make it when I can Butt (tm) as I outlined above Friday nights ain't exactly easy on me, my wallet, or my equipment. Here is something else you can throw into the mix. There are only so many Sundays to go around . Branford , Echoconnee, both run on Sundays, and E. Dublin will also run on Sundays when it gets back up and running . What is RPM's schedule and the Fla. Series??? Just something to think about Fl Flash 04-22-2004, 09:58 PM  Good luck with your fishin trip Wade davepull 04-22-2004, 10:47 PM ok here is a break down of last friday night we had 8 races of which 6 where 4 mins and 2 where 5 min that's 34 min of racing if you set the computer for 3 min between races ad 18 min that's 52 mins for a round. if you start @ 8 pm 2 rounds (10 min in between you should be done by 11 pm instead we are starting @ 830 pm and ending at 12 30 am there is something wrong with that !!!!!!!!!!!! shawnleary 04-22-2004, 11:00 PM Hart is the man in charge, just go to him and talk to him about it. Maybe he doesn't realize that people are upset. I don't think he reads the thread. davepull 04-22-2004, 11:36 PM hey guys look at this what a deal http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34063&item=3189524728&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34063&item=3189518606&rd=1 irvan36mm 04-22-2004, 11:48 PM The only way to solve this,IMO,is to get/hire someone that is willing to run the races that, preferably, doesn't own an r/c vehicle. Back when I started racing,we had a guy that used to run the races/computer,tech the cars (what's that?) and held the raffle drawings. The whole program ran very smoothly & we got out at around 11-11:30 almost every Fri night. I know a lot of you aren't cussing the job that Tom,me,Johns Hart and Pilgrim are trying to do,but it's starting to get a bit old on us,too! If anyone knows someone that may be interested, have them come up tomorrow & talk to Hart. -George(r) irvan36mm 04-22-2004, 11:52 PM DaveP- That is a sweet deal on a loaded car! Just add motor & electrics and you're ready for HW oval action. And it's already pre-scartched up! lol Somebody better jump on it before it's gone!!!!! -George davepull 04-22-2004, 11:53 PM you are so right but lets try this maybe just take less of a break in between rounds. have a drivers meeting and tell everybody 3 min between races and a 10 min break between rounds be ready!! irvan36mm 04-23-2004, 12:02 AM 6-cell 19t Truck series!!!!How about 4-cell Spec truck? Any 4-cell pack w/Spec motor. I'd be willing to run a truck on Sundays, too! I would have to get another Keyence (secret weapon!) speedo & wait for my new KGB ride to come in. -George irvan36mm 04-23-2004, 12:04 AM you are so right but lets try this maybe just take less of a break in between rounds. have a drivers meeting and tell everybody 3 min between races and a 10 min break between rounds be ready!!P- Sounds like a plan to me! Let's bring this up tomorrow night. -George shawnleary 04-23-2004, 01:34 AM Butts(tm) I got a few more of those pics up. Shawn and George knows about the time that it takes to be a webmaster, and on a plus side I try to have everything posted after the races on Sunday.. Chris got to watch me do just a little bit of the 4 hour work I done on my website Sunday, and he doesn't want anything to do with it,LOL 11:00 P.M DOES SOUND GOOD!!!!!!!!!! rcovalracer 04-24-2004, 02:50 AM Had fun tonight/this morning guys, thanks for the help Shannon  .. Congratulations to Jerry Parrott for a new track record in 4 cell 19T,and also, like to say congratulations to Shawn Leary for setting a new track record in Pro Spec... http://thercedge.com/forums/images/smiles/clap.gif Hey Dave that was my car that distracted you after I decided to drive straight into the corner of the road course,in front of the drivers stand,LOL,I managed to finish the race with the receiver flopping around and the LF tire sitting on the batterys.. THE AFTERMATH (http://thercedge.com/forums/album_pic.php?pic_id=197) Shawn/George,YGM. David Butts 04-25-2004, 08:26 AM Ouch! That hit got my attention also. It was right in front of me on the drivers stand and my car was going down the back straight so I kinda saw it without really looking at it if you know what I mean. Racing today at the big track if enough people show up. If not there'll be practicing today at the big track. If not there'll be beer drinkingg today at my little garage. All that takes is one person. I'm planning on touring'ing it(is that a word)today but I'll bring the other car too. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
