View Full Version : Hobby World Paved Oval Official Thread. It's Back
rcgen 03-16-2004, 07:05 PM Butts(tm)- If ya think about it,we race every other Sundays. This Sunday would have been our Sunday race (3/21). It is also Branford's raceday, too. If we're not racing this Sunday because of Daytona and pick the Sunday schedule back up next Sunday (3/28),then we would be in sync w/the Branford schedule. I think the schedule issue fixed itself-because of the Daytona race!
-George (R) (C) (tm) (KGB)
So this means we're racing @ HW on the 28th or will we need a confirmation from Hart. If this is true I'll make the Macon road trip, more Bradford trips and still be supporting our local track. Everyone wins. When will we all know for sure and get a schedule posted?
GeorgiaFordFan 03-16-2004, 08:06 PM Anyone else going to Branford this Sunday? Let's convoy from Hobby World early in the AM.
I am going for sure and may want to meet up with you at HW, what time?
rcovalracer 03-16-2004, 08:37 PM  Does anyone have the address to Hobby World,I can go get driving directions for you guys.I posted some on the Branford Thread, but I need a address for mapqwest. Thanks,Kevin

Or here are my directions.
Take I-10 W.
Exit ramp right- I-75 South
Go to Exit 427-US 90- Lake City
Make a left at the light, you are on US 90,go down I would say 7 red lights, there is plaza with Food Lion on the left and Advance Auto Parts on the right,(make)merge to the right towards the Auto parts store, that is Highway 247 (Branford HWY)
Go down 247 until you reach Beachville,as soon as you reach Beachville look for CR 49,there will be a blue Jiffy store on the left, turn left at that flashing light, you are now on CR 49.Go down past the dirt bike track, pass that dirt road, and you come to the second dirt road on the left, 264th st, go down it,first dirt road on the left,61st street,go down until you see the signs on the left posted on the fence, pull all the way to the back.
Or take I-10 W
Exit- Sanderson Olustee-US 90 Turn Left- Towards Lake City

Eugene- We would have to confirm the 3/28 date w/ Hart. But if we keep the Sunday races going, this would be the logical choice,IMO. If this flies, everyone wins!

irvan36mm 03-18-2004, 06:22 PM Butts(tm)- Isn't it funny that the "trademark" symbol after your name is catching on?? If there was a way to get a "registered" circle on the computer,it would have been done a long time ago!
BTW,tell your lawyers that I said "You're Welcome!" LOL

George(R), I thought you were my lawyer? I dont know if you read it but on the maverick thread that (tm) has been used a couple of times too. All in good fun though. I see where your KGB sniper(tm) is just becoming available. Man that was a long gestation period.
irvan36mm 03-19-2004, 12:41 AM Butts(tm)- Yes,the Sniper project was a long time coming (almost 2 yrs),but I hear from my fellow KGB colleagues it's well worth the wait! lol Are ya going to Daytona or Branford this weekend?

bigdon18 03-23-2004, 05:09 PM hey guys,
i know alot of guys at hobby world have touring cars , what yall think about a touring oval class?
i ran the class at Daytona and it was really fun , just a thought or ideal, we ran stock motors in Daytona and they was moving,, like i say just an ideal to see what yall thought about it.
BIGDON
rcgen 03-23-2004, 06:01 PM sounds cool...maybe the "spec" touring guys might want to try it out j/k :jest:
rcgen 03-23-2004, 07:13 PM You guys are running Friday night and Sunday? I will try to make it to the Sunday race. 4 cell stock here. anyone else? Kevin
Friday night @ HW
Saturday night @ Strickland
Sunday @ HW
three days of racing in Florida weather and I'll won't be here :(
David Butts 03-24-2004, 04:41 PM Okey dokey, I havent even as much as cleaned the dust off my oval car since the last friday night race. Been kinda busy being "Domesticated Dave" while the wifey awaits tomorrows operation in miami. But I may race friday night with whoever shows up for stock.
If Jerry"I beat Mike Boylan"Parrott shows up there'll be atleast three or four of us. I bet Joemama's up for a rematch too, If he still think's I intentionally took him out in the main my car may not make(unintentional retaliation?)the next one  . Maybe a new face showing up for stock oval  and I know who's face it is. Heck we all do.
And as of today the light in turn three still has'nt been replaced so anyone have any nightvision goggles I can use?
Oh well if Kathy's surgery goes well I'll be at the track friday night looking for some good close racing fun. The finish between Joe and I in the first qualifier two weeks ago was worth the entry fee.
parrott88 03-24-2004, 08:17 PM ummmmm.... I DON'T, Who's the new face.
shawnleary 03-24-2004, 10:44 PM Jerry, the superman avatar havin, monkey brain a holdin, on-road a racin, smack talkin on every thread kind of guy, Dave P will be making his first appearance on the oval side of the coin for the first time that I've seen at Hobby World, in four-cell stock. Take it easy on him guys, he may start turning right all of a sudden. ;)
Donnie_99 03-24-2004, 10:47 PM i be be there next time yall run sundays again after this weekend
davepull 03-25-2004, 10:53 AM hey Shawn thanks for the support. but I have wheeled a 19t car around HW for a couple of weeks. I will be out there tonight to dial the car in But I still have alot of work to do to get the car ready. cut tires , set ride height, set camber set tweek mount the wing and set up the radio.
who knows maybe I'll run some pro super duper modified expert spec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol :)
irvan36mm 03-25-2004, 03:45 PM Well,if the turn 3 lights haven't been replaced yet,I wonder if we could use their (HW) orange double-light-tree-thingy to light-up that corner? We'll have to ask Friday night.
-George
shawnleary 03-25-2004, 04:07 PM Cool Dave P, I'd like that, bring Butts with ya too when/if you run it. I haven't seen you race oval yet, I've heard you can turn left pretty good. I remember you saying you started with 4-cell stock oval back in Mass right? c-ya's tomorrow night.
Shawn
rcovalracer 03-25-2004, 05:39 PM Even though I have to be @ work at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, the points series that starts tomorrow is sounding good to me. :) I may have to show up tomorrow night instead of Sunday.
 decisions  Is there going to be a points series for 4 cell stock? If not,I will be there Sunday. Kevin
Fl Flash 03-25-2004, 07:22 PM Hmmm,
If theres gonna be some 4-cell stockers Sunday I,ll slip on out there myself :D
