HW Politics (give the people that hate HW a place to rant and advertise their own tracks)

That's a pretty snide remark if you ask me Bryan. We went to HW not once but twice and were treated like crap, Both times. I might even try it again if I can get enough people I already know to go with us, at least they won't make me feel un welcome. As far as advertising for my own track, nothing could be further from the truth, I just want to race some of the guys from Jax without having to do it in Jax. Nuff said

I just don't want anyone to think we didn't try to come racing with y'all. It's a four hour drive from Macon and we were just a little disappointed upon our arrival. We might try it again when the lights are fixed, I don't see well at night and would probably do more harm than good :freak:

I am sure I can speak for the RACERS in Jacksonville, Orange Park, Middleburg we welcome anyone to race with us. Be it at HW, a parking lot, carpet, etc. The more racers come the better drivers we all will be and make some of the area racers venture outside the Jax area to race at your track, Brandford, Strickland, RPM etc. If not they will let me know.

Hey Clifford I'm going to try and get some of the oval nerds to come up your way on the 4th. Whats the best way to get to your track from I-75? What exits and the short cuts. I'm sure there's a map somewhere but I'm too lazy to look it up. Also what is the basic tire set up for stock and 19t? Inquiring minds want to know

It was a joke. I'm sorry that HW treated you like crap, but they treat us locals like crap everyday! Welcome to Jacksonville!!

However, they give us a nice track to race on and practice SEVEN days a week, so I'm happy they're here.

I guess I'm lucky I didn't put the comment next to the "TC3 vs Losi" thread that I thought about or I'd be getting coments about that too.

Aw shoot. I'll do it anyway!

What we need to do is get all the guys together from here that want to travel to the other tracks that are within a days travel from here and back and start making plans to attack uh visit all together. Branford this past sunday was a blast and if you buy the right tires they'll also work at other concrete tracks. Like I said earlier I'm going to try and make it to Cliffs opener on april 4th which is a sunday and I'll put out a feeler at the track to see if anyone else is game. I think I know of a couple that'll jump at the chance.

Kevin the 26th is a friday if I counted my fingers and toes correctly so yes unless it's raining or some other weather anomalie hits there will always be racing at hw on fridays. It's the sundays that are in jeopardy.
There's a bunch of us that wants sunday racing to continue but poor John Hart who drives from Brunswick so that hw has a lap counter may eventually tire of the drive. Hopefully we can continue with atleast one sunday a month throughout the summer months.

I got a lap counter, so what's the problem? Let's roll!

I got a guy that y'all will meet in Daytona, We call Hot Rod. He's got two of each and an itchy trigger finger. We will put a gun to his head and , uh, make him come with us, lol.

David send me an e mail and I will send detailed directions and a few choices for a hotel if you happen to come on Saturday. That way you can get the directions to whoever needs them. That goes for anyone who needs directions and such, just e mail me. I will get some up on here asap, probably tomorrow and will have a few maps available in Daytona. GTOCK1000@aol.com

As far as tires go, what works in Branford works pretty good here. All greens with a full stagger is a good start but blues on the right is a little faster. You won't even be able to tell you ran here by looking at your tires. We have good traction a smooth surface and minimal tire wear. We also have a class for just about everyone.

Did you guys check out the TC3 oval conversion? Pretty cool!

Who won plaques for touring? Are they being awarded for both 19t and stock touring? I know 19t is still up in the air from what I have heard, Marlowe and Hart were tied and had the same number of TQ's... dooh! Maybe they'll have to flip a coin or something.
Shawn- I say do a 10-lap,balls-out shootout tiebreaker! Either that or:

"Rock-Paper-Scissors" (best 5 out of 10 wins)
"Liar's Poker" (w/dollar bills-most $$ at the end of 2 hands wins)
2-lap qualifying runs (best lap wins)

lol

Somehow I get the feeling that one of my legs is getting tugged on here. I looked at some orange caps at Scotts and they were like rocks. Hmm maybe with 6 ounces on the lr they'll work. I found a busted shock yesterday. I dont know when or how long it's been that way either. I guess I'll just go through the whole car and start over. Man I was gonna leave that setup alone till next years "birds"

Guys(we dont have any girls). Our next sunday race is supposedly the 21st but thats the weekend of the daytona race. Anybody know if Hart is going there? I know some of you have mentioned going to watch so there may not be a turnout sufficient to race here. I must have daylight!
Also call the shop and ask when the new lights that they already have are being put up. Rook will love you for it  .Hi Dave!

david, i'm done until daytona. all i've been doing is rubbing, polishing. i don't think i've put my car down for three days. new t-plate, new front end. and oh yeah new chassis. got all you ga. boys wondering what i'll show up with don't i. should be fun

David Butts
03-11-2004, 02:55 PM
BigDon. We need to rub fenders again soon. I think you owe me a shot or two from the last time I hit uh passed you in touring. Well it was almost a clean pass. Wasnt it? Maybe a little bit? I have to work the weekend of the daytona race but I plan on ormond beach the following week and then Cliffords race on the 4th. Hope all goes well with your upcomin surgery. My wife leaves for miami tomorrow for her second pacemaker in two years. They're going to put in a de fibber something or other in there too. Hospitals? I hate them but you really cant live without them in some cases.

bigdon18
03-11-2004, 03:58 PM
rub fenders,,,lol... that pass wasnt clean ,,,, what the ????? Na,, man that was fun ,i had a blast that day even tho i was in the way,, but it got good quick with me and you both comin from the last row on the start,, you know us oval racers,, buzzer = hammer down on the trigger.. they say you cant win the race on the first lap,, but by god it helps a heck of a lot

hope things go well for your wifes surgery and i while say some prayers for her. thanks for the good words for mine ,, iam not really looking forward to it at all ... hopefully me and tim might can make ormand or cliffords race after daytona,, i go to the doc on the april 13th to set the chop shop visit up. he want to this month because things have gotten bad for me on my side, but i want to do Daytona plus another month with your family is great also, so we or should i say i made that move for april. your right you cant live with out them at times,, but man it isnt fun when you have tubes running down your nose and throat, and tubes else where and be awake when they put them in ,,not fun at all,,being cut wide open from your bottom of belly to your chests, waking up in icu with a bag on my side, and all the days laying in icu with only 15minute vists every four hour but for me it was like once a day because my wife had to work to support the familly ( boy iam blessed with her) and then had our three kids to take care of at night that was ruff, being on the ventilator machine ,watching someones else blood goin in you, but its worth it to be with your family, friends, racing buddys again. I thank god for all of yalls prayers then and one i will recieve in the future , and thanks for great friends like tim halpin and phillip owens that came and visited me during that time, when your in for 48 days its great to see people, but like i say iam not looking forward to it again i rather go racing any day and have the worstest luck that day than do that .

David Butts

Ok Shawn now that you have officially run in 19t what did you think of it? Your car looked good but maybe not optimized for the newfound infusion of horsepower. I watched some of your runs and your line was pretty good if not a little on the high side atleast in 3 where I marshalled all night. If held a little tighter those 7.0's would've been 6.9's or 8's.

Good racing at the speedway lastnight in all the oval classes. Even the legends guys and girl looked like they were having fun.

Stock? Oh it was a fun night there too. Malin was fast as always(missed the track record by 3 seconds in his second qual) but looking at his laptimes discounting the couple of tangles he had in the main it looks as if his gear was a little tall as his times started ballistic, A string of 7.5's and 7.6's but fell of pretty sharp.

Shannon ripped off a 7.6 in the main and I was'nt trying to pick a line around him those first couple of laps, I didnt have anything for him.

Steve Short even though hunting for that pesky red spring kept him preoccupied all night  eventually busted the 8 second barrier with a 7.9 lap which is his best sofar.

One last thing, I won. Woo hoo!

19t was sweeeeeet. I finally was able to tighten my line up for the Main, but went up a tooth from 40/100 to 41/100 and it slowed me down a couple tenths. I also used "my good pack" which didn't seem all that good after the Main. I had a blast though, third ain't too bad. Tom, as usual, was hauling. Tom also missed the Pro-Spec record by a second last night. I can't wait to race against him for points next series in Pro-Spec. Should be fun.

Hey Butts, why aren't we running 5 minute races in stock? I'm not suggesting, merely asking.
