rcgen 03-03-2004, 04:34 PM Oval practice ??? What's there to practice? Go fast & turn left... just joking. sounds good shawnleary 03-03-2004, 04:35 PM There's nothing like racing outdoors with good weather like now. This is the best time of year, before it starts raining every night. last night of the point series. Hart and Marlowe are close for first place in 19t. Dan is still up there even though he's missed the last few. Will sneak up and steal it from both? Lambert has already clinched the first place plaque, its a close battle for second between me and malin. Gonna be a good night of racing coming up. rcovalracer 03-03-2004, 05:32 PM Hey David you and any others running 4 cell stock? When does it start again, 8p.m. davepull 03-03-2004, 05:46 PM how about this friday till 6:00 pm open practice 6:00 - 6:30 oval 6:30 - 7:00 road course 7:00 - 7:30 oval 7:30 - 8:00 on road 8:01 racing starts BryanW92 03-03-2004, 06:05 PM 15 or 20 minute segments would be better. That gives time for a full 4 minute run, followed by 5-10 minutes of adjusting and still leaves time for another 4 minute run. David Butts 03-03-2004, 06:46 PM how about this friday till 6:00 pm open practice 6:00 - 6:30 oval 6:30 - 7:00 road course 7:00 - 7:30 oval 7:30 - 8:00 on road 8:01 racing starts Marlowe and I talked about just that schedule lastnight. Of course that means that someone has to be in charge and own a watch, The reason for that rotaioin just incase anyone is wondering is customarily oval races first then touring. And if everything works out right everyone would have their cars rebuilt and charged before we started racing parrott88 03-03-2004, 07:27 PM anyone running 4cell stock or 19t. thinking about coming down rcovalracer 03-03-2004, 07:39 PM Parrott, I will come if there are some more 4 cell stock,if not I am goin to take my chance with the weather in Branford on Sunday.. Somebody mount some MAGLIGHT (TM) flashlights or something in turn 3 geezze. I can see good enough to race, that is good enough for me.. Thank you David for the cleanup of the track out of your spare time. Drivers/Racers can make a track happen, JMO (Just My Opinion). I was planning on running touring here friday and stock at branford sunday but sunday's weather for both tracks as of now looks like poo poo. If you're coming here I'll race stock oval with you. We'll need a couple more to step up. Hey guys who's up for it? Of course there's always 19t. Always 7 or 8 in that class. David Butts 03-03-2004, 10:33 PM BTW we would really like to see some of you Jax guys at the season opener as well. I have not raced with most of you but Jo Mamma and John Maher are old racing adversaries. Hope you guys can make it up  www.echeconneesuperspeedway.tk Clifford if you know those two guys I'd keep it a secret. We too(or is that 3?) go way back also. I want to run at all these different tracks eventually so I'll put yours on the planner. Maybe it'll happen. Echeconnee 03-03-2004, 10:37 PM Sounds like a winner David. I would like to run HW but I think I would like to show up when some of you locals are present, if you know what I mean. Super nice guy, too! -George rcovalracer 03-06-2004, 04:14 AM Made it home, let's see it it 4:00 now,LOL Shades was fun until on the way home $158.00 ticket.. Don't think I will be returning to HW as a spectator or racer,Is it the people in the store or is it the drivers? All I was tring to do is get some video and pictures of you guys and you rant on for atleast 10 min about the first picture I took, yes I am sorry I had the flash on,but it didn't cause anyone any positions that I am aware of.After the first picture I was recording some videos and taking pictures without the flash on,I was told to stop taking pictures with the flash after that, maybe you were still seeing the flash from the first picture because there was no other flashs after the first one.Ask the announcer,he knows. Shawn I got some video of you winning, and some pictures but I am not going to post them or e-mail them to you sorry.Thank some of your fellow racers. Congratulations on your win. Jerry Congratulations A-Main TQ,win and fastest lap time record I think.. See you Sunday Jerry. Echeconnee 03-06-2004, 08:31 AM you mean they acted like they could care less if you were there or not? Wow, I can't imagine that Echeconnee 03-06-2004, 08:32 AM good thing Ormond is just a little farther south :jest: davepull 03-06-2004, 09:31 AM Kevin that racer just needed to have an excuse at to why he got beat. you say the racing between Jerry And Dave how could you not want to be a part of that??? David Butts 03-06-2004, 10:41 AM First off let me say. Parrot is smooth and fast. Nice guy too. I'll post more about after I get back from an errand or two. Kevin I didnt hear what was said to you until after the races when our bench racing session was in full bloom. A simple please no flashes would have been fine and from what I was told you didnt flash anymore(pictures) Which should have been the end of it. Once again hw has gottenn the stigma of an unfriendly place to visit. Almost everyone who races there welcomes new people . rcovalracer 03-06-2004, 11:07 AM Posted BY Davepull:Kevin that racer just needed to have an excuse at to why he got beat. you say the racing between Jerry And Dave how could you not want to be a part of that??? :jest: I am sure I will met up with David and Jerry one day at another location such as Branford,Daytona,somewhere.. David I was asked once, which I know from taking pictures of other races @ night my flash is extremely bright,so I didn't know it was on for the first picture, after that it was off,and as I talked with the announcer about it he said it was fine to take the pictures as long as the flash was off,it was and still had someone saying no pictures,no camera, blah, blah, blah. So take your own damn pictures next time. 1 1/2 hour drive to listen to the drivers complain about 1 picture I took is crazy,I thought maybe you guys would like to have some video and pictures of your rides,as I know Shawn has a website he would proably like to post the race pictures on there. Posted By Echeconnee: you mean they acted like they could care less if you were there or not? Wow, I can't imagine that The sad thing is it was some of the drivers, not the owners,or was it,I don't know who owns it,but it was some of the guys racing. Kevin Kevin's RC Oval Site/Branford RC Speedway (http://www.kevinsrc.tk) davepull 03-06-2004, 11:25 AM Kevin if you ever need any thing you can always ask me I'll do what i can to help. Just in case you don't know who i am I was the race director at FCCR. Phil you have a PM bigdon18 03-06-2004, 11:34 AM jerry ,, Congrates on your run, havent got to race with you since valdosta rc racing ,, see ya in Daytona. bigdon18 03-06-2004, 11:35 AM phillip ,,, call me. BIGDON parrott88 03-06-2004, 02:16 PM thanks for the kind words. didn't know what to expect when i got there. i've only heard negative things about the track, but i must say everyone i meet was extremely nice and helpful, and the track is awesome. some that i race with talk about problems, but i can't imagine it being with anyone that i meet last night. DAVID REALLY ENJOYED RACING WITH YOU AND ALL THE OTHER 4-CELL STOCKERS, AND LOOK FORWARD TO RACING WITH EVERYONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I WILL BE BACK. LETS HAVE SOME FUN, JERRY David Butts 03-06-2004, 02:27 PM Ok lets crunch some numbers here. Jerry's new stock record from lastnight is 32 4:06.72. The old record from two weeks ago was 31 4:00.51 so he beat the record by a mere 1.39 seconds. Yikes thats closer than the 32 to 31 lap count sounds. His average lap time was 7.710 to mine of 7.758(on the previous record) which is a difference of .048 seconds. Heres the fun fact, His car # is 88 and in the main to get the record he beat the clock by .88 seconds. Guess I'll have to do it by .37(my car #)next time. Strange fact about hw is that in order to turn what ever lap count you have to average close to that mph. Jerry's avg mph for the record run was 32.728 and mine from two weeks ago where I just missed 32 laps was a slightly slower 32.526 mph. I'd like to also mention the other drivers in stock lastnight. I believe that all three stock runs were the cleanest races and I believe thats because we talked on the stand both before and during the runs. Several drivers ran their best runs to date. Shannon Stevenson who finished 3rd ran his personal best of 30 4:02.39 with a fast lap of 7.8, Tim Koivu finished 4th and also had a fine 30 4:07.01 which I believe to be his best with a fast lap of 7.8, Steve Short was 5th with a 27 4:01.62 and a fast lap of 8.1 And Michael Short rounded out in 6th with a 25 4:00.02 fast lap of 8.3. Now remeber that the track record only a month ago was 30 4:02. Now if we could just attract and keep new racers coming this can get fun real quick. David Butts 03-06-2004, 02:36 PM OOPS! I did the unthinkable lastnight, I broke my oval car in the main. Actually if you didnt see it, I tangled with Jerry on the third lap of the main on the back straight and tried to give him a little room. I gave him too much and hit the entrance into the road course full throttle and stopped dead. The body came out almost totally unscathed(amazing in itself)and my armour plated(tm) body posts didnt budge, The bumper did though. Ouch. I was surprised when I pulled the trigger and the car took off straight as an arrow and turned a 7.5 on the next lap. After the race I found the battery had completely left the tape and was just along for the ride after that hit. Thank goodness for short wires,It couldnt go anywhere if it'd wanted to. parrott88 03-06-2004, 02:42 PM Hey David, Thats What I Was Telling You After The Race. That Time Is Beatable. I Did'nt Have A Lap Under 8 Seconds The First 4 Laps. Nerves Got To Me, And Not To Mention The Mishap On The Backstraight, That Cost Both Of Us 2 To 3 Seconds. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
