I thought you were going to run 4-cell stock? Yep, 19t for me. I wish I had three cars setup for Sunday cause I want to run all of them. But I figured it would be a good day to try 19t.
Shawn- Good idea! Alright,y'all twisted my arm (NOT the motor arm! Ha!)-I'm (stale meat!) also gonna run 19t this Sunday! Phil's always bugging me to run 19t,so here's your chance to witness the spectacle! lol Actually,I wanna try to outdrive Pilgrim in 19t (which isn't hard to do! lol) & show him what a good car (KGB) is all about. He had his chance to buy one of mine, but now he's gonna regret it! Hee,hee!

The smack talkin has already started.

We've run 10 in our Spec mains when there wasn't enough for a B.

Lee, I bought the complete 04 kit. Actually I bought just the conversion first, and then once I saw the pod, I had to have it. I should have just bought the whole thing at once, probably a little cheaper. I ran my personal best the first night out with it even with a 15 second first lap. Its fast dude. And I thought it was just Phil knowing how to setup a car. Its the chassis. ;) I bought Dan's "old" 03 Maverick slider and will be setting that up for ProSpec when I get my act together. Two cars.... no, the addiction isn't growing, its just becoming more efficient. Yea that's it.

Wade and the other Ga. racers, The gate's usually opened on sunday when the first owner(Don)shows up around 11:00 or so.

With the normal crowd we've been finishing up around 5:00 but sunday looks to be bigger than usual.

racers in the mains? It ll depends but they're usually stacked because theres rarely ten or more cars in a class.

We'll see you guys on sunday.  This'll be a strange day with some guys running 19t that usually dont and some running stock that usually dont. Kinda like the twilight zone of r/c.

================================================== ====Clifford and gang. The store/track is open till 6:00 pm on saturday and if there are people out back they'll let them stay as long as they agree to lock the gate. The pollen in the air has the track really dusty so it'll need to be blown off good tomorrow morning but the guys lastnight were getting around just fine.

I'm turning chicken again after seeing how fast those guys were last night, staying with pro-spec for tomorrow. I think Jason wants a rematch anyway. I ran a personal best with the car last night and don't want to mess with it for 19t.

It's been eerily quiet on here today. Must be all those racers dilligently working away on their cars for tomorrows mayhem. I've stared holes through my stuff today and I'm getting ready to go stare some more. Just pulled my bag of snowbirds tires out for a quick sniff. Aaaaahhh, Paragon! The scent of the wilderness. Oil of wintergreen takes me back to the old slot car days when you could walk into the track and the stuff would knock you out. Hmm? Just like da'birds. FLASHBACK!

David are they going to leave the gate dummy locked so we can get in early in the morning??
I read your post on the spec thread I agree with you there needs to be some sort if stepping up. Just for your info I have been purchasing Gp 3300 for 55-60 per pack and you can run them twice a day I dont believe they are trying to run the spec packs twice a day?? now motors I have 2 monster motors that I have been running for almost a year and thats racing at least twice a month. rebuild them properly and keep the brushes fresh and they will last I am sure the pro-spec guys are changing brushes so there is no difference in cost there . Tires I am not sure about is there a big difference in performance between the 2 ?? Im not sure and what is the cost difference??
Have you guys ever thought about a break-out class?? Cliff has run it at Echonnee with good attendence what about a fixed gear class?? Sugar Hill ran 1 for years with good results Both theses classes are run with 4-cell packs and stock motors I dont race often enough in Jax. to make a diference just thought I would give my 2 cents worth

See you tomorrow

I'm just sitting here watching television and Phil calls me to ask what happened at hobby world today?. Guys, I have no idea whats's happened today but I guarantee we'll hear about it.

Wade, Donnie, Clifford and crew. I have nothing at all to do with the racing or the way the racers(read that as customers) are treated by the owners or employees of hobby world but I used to and I'd sure like to know what happened.

We the racers there are trying to make it a pleasurable experience to come race and hang out with us just as some of us are planning on venturing to the Georgia tracks and Branford for some action soon too.

I know that one of the owners gets on here and reads whats being said so fire away. This now makes twice in three weeks that people have complained about the way they were treated by someone in the store. I'm all ears/eyes.

There's even slim chance that the track could get on the Fla state oval series calender this year but this does'nt bode well because those other racers also read this thread. Look at the number of views compared to the number of posts. Yikes!

Hey David all i know is Cliff and Andy got there today and they wouldnt let them practice and also said they wouldnt let them in the track until noon on sunday . the guy working there said they only needed a hour or so to practice anyway. the guy worked there said he ran 19t but he made sure they had roar registration forms lol. so one thing lead to another Cliff and Andy are in Lake City now so they can go to branford tommorow .

I for one can not believe that within 5 minutes of arriving to practice for racing on Sunday they chase you all off, this is appauling to think that H/W is this STUPID!!!!!! alot of us racers were looking forward to racing you guys,we have been trying to get alot of to come down for a long time. If the owners or the employees are this naive/stupid or just dont care I for one wish they would post on here they just dont care :(

Deo i was looking forward to running down there been working on my car
all week now got to re-do everyting lol it is a hour closer for me to run there than branford.so who actually owns the track? i know its not yalls fault . Cliff called me and was hottt and it really takes a lot to get him bent out of shape? hell we cancelled our weekly race here just so a few of us could go down there.

David Butts
02-21-2004, 09:50 PM
I can understand somewhat them not wanting the lights on(not all of them work)but everyone knows that guys get there about ten or so to start cleaning up the track so that attitude was uncalled for to me. Then again I'm just a racer there who wants a place to race just as bad as the next person. Only thing is there has to be other racers and if they keep getting run off there will be none. I almost went out to the track to meet all those guys this afternoon and now I'm really wishing I had. Lets see, How many left at $15 an entry and how many of those guys were going to run more than one class at $10 an additional class?

This raceday was in the planning stages for over a month now since long before the birds so it's amazing that it takes apparently one person only several minutes to throw a wrench in the works. Oh yeah the stores phone number is 904 772 9022 call and ask for an owner if that employee was overly rude. I for one am seriously thinking about Branford tomorrow now.

Oh yeah and about the roar deal. Because this is the internet everyone from Anchorage Alaska to Sydney Australia knows you have to have it to race at hobby world by now. That is those of them that have looked at this site. :jest:

DEO RACING
02-21-2004, 10:08 PM
Donnie I would do that except I do not own a stock motor or a set of cap tires I run foam tires only and mod or 19t only look forward to daytona H/W can't mess that up.

Donnie_99
02-21-2004, 10:10 PM
what made it so bad is cliff and Andy stopped by there on there way to the birds and got about the same treatment he said then he would never go back but we talked him into it. lol he said definatly dont have to worry about it any more now. i just dont understand it i run a track here and i do anything i can to make sure everyone has a good time heck i have even let racers stay at my house overnight from out of town. and yall have the best racers i had more fun at the racerock race
than i had had in a long time.

I really don't understand the attitude of HW. That track is a gold mine. Every person that races there probably drops at least $100-200 a month at HW. They need to fix the lights. They need to repair the brittle pipes on the road course. They don't clean off the track for us before a race. Its like a bowling alley that expects the bowlers to wax the lanes before a game.

We should consider forming a club of some sort so that we can deal with HW as a group. It may give us a little more clout. Perhaps we could even work some deals where we get free practice time (or at least reduced prices) in exchange for track maintenance and upgrades.

Like it or not, its their track and its the place we race, so we need to develop a better relationship with HW.

Develop a better relationship lmao man give respect to get it!!Terrible to see ya Ga guys are not making it(treated like crap )I will still attend hobby world but that does not mean I agree with the treatment of other racers(source of hobbyworld's income) . I for one had not run at hobby world more than twice and its my local track but I decided to give it a shot (i need practice bad) I will still come tommorow for whatever its worth. What time phil will you be comming ? :(

02-21-2004, 11:58 PM
I have worked for the last 2 weeks getting my car, tires , motors and batteries ready to race HW. I also promoted the Branford, Macon, and Dublin racers to attend.

I dont know how I feel at this time Mad, Frustrated, Stressed, all that comes to mind and you know what ...I can go to work and get payed to have all those feelings.I dont need HW for any of the above. I race for the fun, the speed, the fellowship and the comraderie. Jax. has a good bunch of racers and I enjoy running with all of you and I hope to see most of you in Daytona because you will not see me at HW.

I have raced in this hobby for over 15 years and I spend a BUNCH of money doing it. I am just an average racer I have no sponserships or special deals .I buy 99% of my parts in Hobby Shops. I do know that when I buy anything whether it be shoes, clothes, oil change for my car, a steak dinner with my wife, anything , I don't patronize places where the ownership or help has attitudes. I will take my hard earned money to somebody who appreciates it . Bryanw you might be right, it's their track but I DON'T have to race there. They are the only game in town (Jax) but we aren't from town and you see how fast we walked away. It was not a hard decision to make and all of us were unanimous in our decsion.
so far I have written the above objectively I better stop now.
Phil stated that 1 of the owners reads this thread.
Dear Mr. Owner I will never patronize your business again.

the only reason I race at HW is because it is close. but it appears to be a fatal decision for me to return to racing there. I will go to orlando. I don't like 90% of the employees attitude there especially that old guy with the beard. he's a skull. I can't count how many times I have been in that store and heard the guys behind the counter give people the cold shoulder about the racing out back or they just give them the entire wrong info. It sucks and it is never going to change.
