David Butts 01-24-2004, 08:35 PM Hey everyone I had such a good time on the rug today I just have to race on the asphalt tomorrow. Who else will be there? Weather report is looking better every minute. Alot of you spec guys ran 4cell stock on the carpet today. Wanna run it tomorrow? I'll run either stock or 19t depending on the entries. Touring car is officially on the back burner untill after the birds and I turn 35 laps in 19t. Aw shucks I may shoot for 36 laps before I run it again.
shawnleary 01-24-2004, 11:42 PM I think I'm going to be running Spec. I decided to be a maverick and run my carpet only car on the Super Speedway! ;) Can't wait. I think Jason will run as well. c-ya guys tomorrow.
Hank80 01-25-2004, 12:05 AM Dave, I'll be there for some 19t action, I think Philip will also be down. What time will you be there?
David Butts 01-25-2004, 09:13 AM I'm not leaving the house till about 11:00. Weather may be condusive to some fast times at the big black track.
shawnleary 01-25-2004, 08:49 PM Had a great time today. Results for Pro-Spec are up on the site.
I haven't had a chance to update the TOP 10-runs on the records page. Will get there soon. There have been a lot of changes to that list, wish I was one of them going up there. Didn't get a chance to meet ya Eugene, you kicked some butt today for your first time running with us. Nice job.
Probably won't see you guys next week, gotta get ready for Snowbirds.
shawnleary 01-25-2004, 08:51 PM Nice run Phil, new track record for 19t, 35 4 flat! Jason misses Joe Malin with the second fastest run. Both oval classes running hard on some awesome conditions today.
rcovalracer 01-25-2004, 09:09 PM Has anyone ever ran caps? If so can you still run them if they work? Thanks ahead of time...
rcgen 01-25-2004, 09:10 PM Had a great time at the track...its been over 12 years since I raced...very rusty...hope to come back soon...if it helps Sunday racing works great for me

Kevin, I've tried them on several occasions with only so so results. I even tried out a diferent combination after the mains today. We wont talk about that cuz it was ugly. The same foams you used yesterday will work just fine at hw with hardly any tweaking to the setup. Can they be run? They have'nt been outlawed but theres not any interest to run them by most at the track. Even at internet prices most deem them too expensive. They could probably be gotten to work on the daytime races but I now doubt they'd be any good on the nightime races due to the moisture in the evening. Although I dont run the races I doubt you'd be told you could'nt run them if you wanted too.

Eugene
Glad to see you back in action Eugene. Its been a long time since I heard your name on the p.a. system. Tom ,who called a couple of your races said he wasnt even going to try to pronounce your last name. Biala? maybe he just couldnt read the screen

LOL...Yeah, it was weird to hear my name plus there was another guy name Eugene also. So, I heard it during the touring car races. I guess I'll have to come back so Tom can practice and/or attempt to say my last name.
Echeconnee 01-25-2004, 11:13 PM Caps will work, you just have to get used to them. They are totally on the other end of the traction scale than foams.
David Butts 01-26-2004, 12:32 AM How about that? I finally get my 35 lap run in the 4c 19t main today and I'm totally psyched about it and its all good except there just happened to be two people in front of me when it was all over. Phil Owen takes the win and the new track record with a strong 35 4:00.51 run and Tom Marlowe blasts his fastest laps ever and ends up taking second with a fine 35 4:06.28 and I ended up third with a personal best of 35 4:07.87 which by the way would have been the record just 3 short weeks ago. John hart ends up with a 34 4:07.72 and John Pilgrim with a 32 4:02.08.
I wish I had a scanner so I could show the lap times but Phils are just as consistant as you can ask for with only one other lap than the first in the 7 second range. His 35th was even a 6.9. His 9th was the fastest at 6.6 and looking at Tom's laps his 24th was a 6.7. Yikes this was a beautiful day for racing after the weather reports earlier in the week looked like Poo poo.
Another thing is last month when I set the record at 34 4:02.15 I was using a battery pack that cost me $6.67 and today I was using one won in the raffle recently. Yeppers a 35 lap run with a $1 B&T battery pack. Who says this oval racing requires big dollar packs?
irvan36mm 01-26-2004, 12:46 AM Eugene- It's great to run oval w/ a fellow Filipino! (Well,Earl's one, too! lol) Great run today! Hope to run w/ ya soon!

Butts- How 'bout them raffled-off batt packs, huh? hee, hee! Have ya ever tried to work with 3 new things (new Futaba 3PK,new McAllister Dodge high-speed Intrepid body,body-mounted wing) at once in a raceday? That's what happened to me today. Also, wrong compound rear tires don't help things much, either! yuk! BTW,it was good to run w/ John Hart in the same race again! Congrats on your 35 lapper!

New92 01-26-2004, 09:40 AM I always thought that I would find oval racing boring. But, watching you guys out there looked REALLY fun lol. You guys were flying and making some awesome passes. I may just have to try out a new class next year. (After I get the hang of TC a little more and start to build the ol' bank back up lol).

Hey Wade I got in the birds for 4cell stock so I guess I should probably practice some. I'll run stock this friday as long as the weather cooperates. Man yesterday was beautiful. Do you remember what you and Joemama ran last time as far as laps? I think it was a fast 31. See you guys friday night. There are a couple of other guys up here with 4c stock setups so maybe we can get a good class together. It'll be hard after running 19t the last couple of races but 6 or 8 cars in a tight pack going through our wide turns could be fun.
bigdon18 01-26-2004, 08:56 PM wade,
i not goin to be able to make it ,, i got a anniversarry this week,, but yeah wade maybe we can get together at a track , if not i see you in daytona,, its goin to be fun.

Clifford, HW's phone number is 904 772 9022. They close at 8:00 pm on weekday's but you can look through the fence if you drop by later than that. Not the best view of the track but you can still see it. Some people practice on thursday nights so maybe the fence will be open later.
Echeconnee 01-27-2004, 08:09 AM Thanks David, we will be there way before 8

BIGDON
Hey Don my computers been down the last couple of days because we just got a whole house full of new carpet. What a pain! Since no one else has responded, next sunday the 8th would be the next scheduled day race and only a few of us are going to the bird, so to say, So after that it would be feb the 22'nd. Every other sunday until they screw up a good thing and go back to only friday nights. I myself prefer daytime racing.

David Butts 01-29-2004, 10:24 PM Well guys it seems that my employer just doesnt want me to get any stock motor practice in before next week. Although I've stated several times that I was going to race tomorrow night, I now have an 1:00 pm delivery appointment in Apopka(orlando area)fl tomorrow. I was at the same place today and it took them 2.5 hrs to unload so it doesnt look like I'll be back in time to race. I'm gonna throw everything in the car anyway so just in case I get back ahead of schedule I'll be able to run. But if I miss the 1st qualifier I wont pay the $15 for 1 qual and a main. I dont need no steenking practice that bad.
Hank80 01-29-2004, 10:46 PM David,,..thats ok,...we're all going to show up at your house Saturday with the paragon, and what ever else we can bring an run on your new carpet,..Do you think your wife would mind?
Hank80 01-29-2004, 10:48 PM David you have a PM
shawnleary 01-31-2004, 02:57 AM Great run tonight, congrats to Lambert, Pilgrim, and David in their oval main wins. Welcome to the Georgia and Branford guys for showing us some good racing.
rcovalracer 01-31-2004, 09:17 AM  Thanks for the great race guys,I know I will be returning for some more stock 4 cell action...Definitly have to come check out a Sunday race also...
Do you guys run 2 heats and a main on Sunday also? 3 would be nice and then the main..Once again thanks Wade for the pitting space in the trailor for me ;) Can't wait till I get my new bod from www.rcbods.com (http://www.rcbods.com) so I don't get ran over..
Here is a pic. of it...
David Butts 01-31-2004, 10:30 AM Kevin it was fun running with you when I could see your car. Stock, although not nearly as fast as 19t is extremely fun and the passes take a half a lap or more and thats what oval racing is all about.
Wade? Rocketman? zoom zoom or whatever deffinately had the car to beat. So I did. With a clean run and some light I believe that there is a 32 lap run hiding in these cars somewhere and the more the class is run the faster the fastest cars will get. Even with a couple of on track skirmishes I got a 30 4.07 and with a clean run and Wade's speed there may be a 33 lapper too. I've run a 6.7 lap and a whole bunch of 6.8's and 9's in 19t and my stock motors actually sound stronger than my 19t ones. I just got to work on the whole combo more.
Well next week it's the birds for me and a couple of the other guys from here so all wish us luck.
Beer, It's like comm drops for the brain  :freak:
Echeconnee 01-31-2004, 11:17 AM when are you guys heading for branford?
