Talked to Phil and Sandy's condition remains the same. They have her on blood thinners and have not run anymore tests. She has the clot on her left leg which is where it happened before. Continue to remember them in our prayers. :)

Gotta get some sleep. Headed to MinnReg at 0500. Phil...... if you would please call me saturday on the cell and update on Sandy.

From what I understand we racers have been given a grace period until the mandated retaining barrier is in place around the track but at such time that it's finished everyone will nead a roar card to race no matter which day it is. We all had a good time out there sunday before last and if the weather holds it should be fun racing in daylight tomorrow again. Now as I've said before I'm not a track official so dont hang me if someone comes on here and rebuffs the earlier statements. My roar card should be here any day now. Gotta have it for the carpet anyhow.

I really hope Phils Sandy is doing ok. It's been real quiet on here today. What else is going on with everyone? I got my roar card in the mail today so for the first time since 1993 I'm legal to race almost anywhere.

Hmm just went for the normal sunday "give the dog a ride to the coffee store" ritual and man o man is it nice out today. Got the old batteries cycling as I type. Looks as if it may be a good day for racing afterall. Who's gonna show up to play? I'm running oval.

Well since it hasnt been posted yet I'll just say that it was a good day of racing at the old track yesterday. Phil Owen after missing minnreg due to his wifes suddden illness showed up to race and he ended up winning the main but the real news is that now John Hart has the 19t record at 34 in 4:00.56 He was on a mid 35 lap pace but tangled with lapped traffic. John Ran a whole bunch 6.8's and one 6.7 lap. My car without being touched from last race developed a push that I didnt get out. Tom marlowe finished 2nd in the main and I third. John? Traffic got him in the main too. He was a rocketman. Now the question is who'll be the first 35 lap racer and who'll get that first 6.6 lap. Fridays coming fast but I have to work this weekend and the weekend guy has to work late on friday. bummer! See y'all at the track soon.

I only stayed for the first 2 Q's and one of the mains I think....George looked pretty fast yesterday, and ALL the TC guys were flying.

A couple of the guys with me were talking about just starting in stock for a few weeks to dust off the skills and then go to 19T. They made the comment yesterday that looks like they are going to stay stock for awhile so they dont get their asses handed to them lol.

Was a nice day, would have been nicer without the wind. :shrug

David, I recognized you yesterday from either the cruise-ins, or the Avenues show, or FCCC meeting or somewhere, lol.

Dave P. Was going to come introduce myself but couldn't think of anything to say that wouldnt sound "groupie-ish" lol.

I was talking to Earl a little with the other guys....my buddy went back up there later to buy the Losi from him. Matt (my other buddy) got his car in this weekend and we built it Sat night. We will be up a few days this week to practice and looks like we will start running stock in about 2 weeks.

Can't wait, and see you all this week or weekend.

Bill, I have 27.195. I think that they are either from Traxxas or Kyosho, but I don't think that it matters with 27 AM. I sent you a PM with my #.

Hey Cifford strange of you to bring up the whip(as in lake whiphorwill intenational speedway) I was at one of my customers warehouses last friday and in small talk I mentioned that I had just recently gotten back into r/c racing after a long hiatus and to my astonishment(Imagine a truck drivers language) the guy says "my uncle built the first daytona type r/c track in orlando" Hosch I said and he said yep Bob Hosch. Small world huh? I was saddened to learn that Bob had died last year but as one of his last wishes his motorcycle buddies rode his ashes up in the the mountains like he had apparently requested and his wife scattered them into a canyon that he had always liked. Cool but said at the same time. I too raced there many times and it was a great place to race and made everyone feel like a big time racer.

yea, Bob had a cool place and really knew how to put on a great show, where do you think Boylan got his talents? Only thing is though, the track looked nothing like Daytona, cool as it was.

Katfish, did you get the full ride or the famous 50% deal everybody else is getting?

David Butts
01-12-2004, 06:29 PM
Eugene you should have come over. All questions are welcomed and yes you probably know me from the cruise ins and the avenues shows, Never been to the fccc meetings. I've got two 72 buicks. One gold and one blue. Your friend got a good working car with Earls losi. Stock touring only needs 3 or more entries and there are probably a couple of the guys running 19t that should be in stock. One thing about it those touring cars will break hitting the pipes with a stock motor so why hit'em harder? Oh yeah, Dave P. likes groupies!

katf1sh

50% of 50% lol free is for the guys who run fast! lol i think the help i'm going to get from john at the snowbirds is going to help me more than anything else. he called and talked to me for almost an hour..not only is he a racer..but he is damn fast..plus he is a cool guy and his new foam and wheels will be sweet..i figured i changed cars might as well change tires! lol :freak:

lol daveid..not realy blowing my horn as much as i want to limit the amount of " what you selling them for?" kinda questions.

Eugene I probably won't have been the best company. my car has had issues lately. I think it is time for me to drop kick it across the track. it worked for the L4 I had. Man I can't wait for warmer weather. and your buddy who bought earls losi got a fast car.

DaveP-I can't wait for wamer temps, either! It wouldn't have been so bad if the wind wasn't blowing. Last Friday sucked! Rain in Jan????? Only in FL!!!!

Hey guys I didnt mention this earlier but sunday Phil Owen had his temp gum with him and before we started racing and the sun was basically right over the track, the track temp was like 74 degrees. By the time the mains were going to start the same part of the track was down to 52 degrees. That could account for some of the differences between practice, qualifying and the mains. I know with the rubber tires it had to affect touring and as I've stated before my L4O pushed like there was no tomorrow in the main.

I'm thinking I'll load the car up in the morning with all my stuff and if I get off work in time I'll try to make it too. If I'm going to be too late for sign ups I may call someone and have them sign me up just incase. Those 7.0's I ran this passed sunday just plain felt slow compared to the 6.7's 8's and 9's I ran with the same setup only two weeks before. I want that record back darn it!
