DEO RACING 01-01-2004, 11:23 PM 19t track record we shall see   davepull 01-01-2004, 11:27 PM Phil i think you have a good shot at it if you can get some running room from the other cars on the track. DEO RACING 01-01-2004, 11:32 PM I will be at minnreg next weekend, plan on running the next Sunday race at the end of JAN. Will be pulling out of here in the morning, see you guys soon  Phillip davepull 01-01-2004, 11:33 PM have a safe trip. bigdon18 01-01-2004, 11:37 PM I will be at minnreg next weekend, plan on running the next Sunday race at the end of JAN. Will be pulling out of here in the morning, see you guys soon  Phillip have a safe trip down ,, give me a call when you get back. BIGDON Echeconnee 01-01-2004, 11:47 PM Is the C2 the only 19t allowed or is the handwound ARCOR motor with stand up brushes allowed as well? Do you have to run foams or are caps allowed as well? DEO RACING 01-01-2004, 11:49 PM C-2 only foams only davepull 01-01-2004, 11:51 PM hopefully HW will come up to speed and let the handwounds run in the future. Echeconnee 01-01-2004, 11:53 PM Geez, you guys are killin me. ROAR membership, foam tires and the worst 19t motor available today, what's next, maximum 3 tires allowed? Echeconnee 01-01-2004, 11:54 PM How is the 4 cell stock class down there? Are they allowing those binary stockers? davepull 01-01-2004, 11:55 PM no only hot pink paint Echeconnee 01-01-2004, 11:56 PM Bean, what is the Motor rules shaping up to be in Daytona this year? Any NITRO pan gonna show this year? I couldn't make it last year my wife and I were having my 2nd son. Echeconnee 01-01-2004, 11:57 PM cool, it will match the dots on the pink tires, lol davepull 01-02-2004, 12:01 AM as far as I know the quad magnet motors are being sold in the store but haven't heard if they allow them in the race. I have only seen 4 cell stock run once. Echeconnee 01-02-2004, 12:04 AM guess we will have to bring enough to run our own class davepull 01-02-2004, 12:06 AM right now man the hot class is this pro spec thing. spec motor tires and bat with any chassis body and you can run a wing. davepull 01-02-2004, 12:08 AM and at the carpet track 4 cell stock is the hot class which we do allow quad mag motors katf1sh 01-02-2004, 12:09 AM i know mike boylan allows the quad mag stockers at his local events in tampa. i dont think you will find them to your advantage on the flat tracks.. cap tires on a flat asphault track? i'll pay to watch that! almost as good as red dot tires on carpet! i have yet to race at a roar offialated track that follows there rules to a T..the C2 motors are junk..but yeah can only lead the horse to the water... by the time beans race in march comes around there may be 6 mags in a can! he he  Echeconnee 01-02-2004, 12:09 AM what are the rules for brushes in the spec racing and is it 4 or 6 cell? davepull 01-02-2004, 12:13 AM Pro-Spec and Street Spec Website at Hobby World Echeconnee 01-02-2004, 12:14 AM katfish, you are probably righ about the magnets but you would be surprised to see where caps are fast. There is an asphalt track in Montgomery AL that is banked only about 5 deg and I run pinks on the right and golds on the left all narrow tires and nothing could catch the ol'e hyperdrive. This was not new asphalt either which means it was a little slippery davepull 01-02-2004, 12:15 AM sorry go here for the rules http://home.comcast.net/~shawnleary/streetspec/spec/ Fl Flash 01-02-2004, 12:22 AM Butts, I see ya too! man yall talk so much on here I cant type a letter in sideways  sides I gotta work on my lil cars when I cant go race. Thanks for the defense BigDon, ya I sold one of my Legends along with all my spec stuff, I,m gonna keep the other Legend car for awhile.I think I have enough parts to build one more for your deal I,ll let ya know. Anyone gonna show up for 4-cell stock on the next sunday race at HW? and just when will the next Sunday race be  Lee , I,ll just stand back and watch the B.S. fly  Fl Flash 01-02-2004, 12:35 AM Davepull, Almost have my 12 scale ready, just need to go find a bod this weekend and then learn how to drive it! I was hopin to head to S.C this weekend but the wife says I gotta go to the inlaws with her aaaghhhhh! wade 01-02-2004, 12:36 AM We ran caps in a NARCAR race back in 97. it was a 1/4 scale asphalt track down around Tampa I believe. They hooked up that weekend too See you sunday Cliff AKA 1-2 the 500 King :jest: davepull 01-02-2004, 12:37 AM check with Rook. you want the parma speed 8 Fl Flash 01-02-2004, 12:43 AM Is that one availible with big rubber bumpers front and rear? maybe on the sides too? BullFrog 01-02-2004, 07:58 AM protoform Nissan GTP works well also (national title holder).Probablay when available the new Josh Cryul body. The parma body is very fragile. BullFrog 01-02-2004, 01:11 PM Phil - I got your information today. Your membership was processed on 12/23/04 for the family. I've got your number and HW will have a copy. David Butts 01-02-2004, 03:29 PM what are the rules for brushes in the spec racing and is it 4 or 6 cell? Clifford. allthough I dont run pro spec I'm pretty sure of the rules. They only run the trinity ex spec 6 cells with tamiya connectors. No hardwiring allowed and the same trinity 21 t street spec motor and as of the latest vote they are running the s brush with the stock springs. They also run only the grey band spec foams. Your just not gonna escape the foamies  As far as the 4cell stock class If enough cars show it'll be run also. Any stock motor and unless somebody really raises a stink the binary's can be run. At least thats what the store told me when I bought mine. Wade, Joe malin, I and two others ran the class last time and I think Joe set the record with a fast 31. Now as far as the caps. Hmmm? I've run them in practice twice now and their only a litle skate-ish the first lap. Now the tires I ran were from 1997 so fresher ones will be the hot ticket. I ran in practice last sunday 2 rear standard golds a L red on the lf and a green R right, Yeah I know but its all I had. Several weeks ago I tried the Grean rears standard on the rr and a narrow L on the left with the same fronts and the car was hooked up and deffinately was much free'er on the straights. Hobby worlds straights are long and the turns wide so the car really doesnt need a lot of side bite. I didnt run the tires in the race because no one else has them. bigdon18 01-02-2004, 04:58 PM Davepull , call me if you can . BIGDON bigdon18 01-02-2004, 05:27 PM thanks for the info ,, dave BIGDON David Butts 01-03-2004, 01:49 AM I know how to go really fast at hobby world now, Hows a 6.4 off the throttle sound. I think we can get a car to run 5.8's or 5.9's with the right motor. Yep those are 5's davepull 01-03-2004, 02:34 AM Like to say thanks to Bill Fraden for coming out and making racing possiable. irvan36mm 01-03-2004, 03:18 AM Clifford. allthough I dont run pro spec I'm pretty sure of the rules. They only run the trinity ex spec 6 cells with tamiya connectors. No hardwiring allowed and the same trinity 21 t street spec motor and as of the latest vote they are running the s brush with the stock springs. They also run only the grey band spec foams. Your just not gonna escape the foamies  Butts,Clifford- The above requirements are correct, except for the battery connectors. We've legalized the use of any connector @ HW on the Spec packs & speedo (Tamiya,Dean's,Powerpole, etc) No hardwiring. Also, any speedo allowed. -George Echeconnee 01-03-2004, 08:11 AM How are y'all securing the 6 cell stick packs in the cars? BullFrog 01-03-2004, 08:13 AM Thanks Dave- I'd just wish I had be better prepared for that phone call.I've got my AMB books with me today and I'll send off and e-mail to find out the anwers.Next time I'll be better prepared for an emergency (especially a spare loop). Thanks guys for putting up with all the misfires. Echeconnee 01-03-2004, 08:16 AM glad tto see I'm not the only one up making coffee this morning, lol. Bean, send me an e-mail I have a few questions for you. Yhanks GTOCK1000@aol.com BullFrog 01-03-2004, 08:19 AM Clifford they are securing the packs with the battery cups off the old Associated (off-road) cars. Echeconnee 01-03-2004, 08:21 AM that is what most everyone is doing, I just thought I would ask to see if they had come up with anything better BullFrog 01-03-2004, 08:28 AM That's the best way. I've seen alot of the others.I glad to see someone else is up this early.Have a good one-time to work. bigdon18 01-03-2004, 09:39 AM How are y'all securing the 6 cell stick packs in the cars? some are mounting the associated battery cups to their cars tray and doing it that way ,, george or some of the other spec guys might be able to tell you other ways. BIGDON David Butts 01-03-2004, 10:51 AM I also would like to thank Bill(thanks Bill) for bringing out his scoring system. It basically turned into a night of controled practice(or is that mayhem?) because of the miscounts but it was still more fun that I would've had at home. No guy's my marriage isnt that bad. Nobody was home but the dogs. Hey theres always the old timing bridge. With all that pvc laying round I'm sure the ingenious group of guys that hang out at the track could throw something together. BullFrog 01-03-2004, 11:02 AM I looked in the book and it said something about concrete and 1". I know the old cable was is more that a 1". The orginal was done at 3/4" plus all the new asphalt. So a new cut in the track for a new loop or make a bridge would work. When the personel did not work properly that should have been my clue.I'll have it right the next time I'm called to substitue. At least everyone name is in the computer. David Butts 01-03-2004, 11:43 AM I was told that there was an average of four inches of asphalt put down and compacted to two so that would put the loop at about three or so below the surface. Joe Malin 01-03-2004, 12:40 PM Thanks again Bill for last minute assistance. With you getting up early for work it probably did not allow you alot of sleep. I appreciate your help. Now, it seems as though the additional asphalt has created a need with the newer system to have the loop closer to the surface. Someone let me know and I'll come over and help install a new one. What kind of wire do we need? might get it donated. Both cars are wrecked bad. Parts are on order but will be ready for fridays race. 19T car will be right next time. Hope its a points race night as I race friday @ HW and leave for MinnReg at 0500 saturday. Thanks to all for another fun  evening of controlled mayhem. :( Joe :dude: David Butts 01-03-2004, 01:32 PM Guys if it were'nt for Joemama's unfortunate tangle in the first qualifier there would be a new track record in 19t. Joe you were flying, Uh well actually rolling very fast. Untill that abrupt stop. Bam, game over, sayonara, see ya! BullFrog 01-03-2004, 02:17 PM Joe the loop wire and resistor is about 5 bucks at radio shack. I've got the resistor. It needs 18 gauge wire and I've got plenty of pvc to build a temporary bridge. That's my project for this week -if it's needed for friday. As for the sleep when I hit the bed the next thing I knew it was 5:10am.Tommorrow it's off to Orlando for Superior and a peek at the RPM track. Now it's off to the North vs South off-road race. davepull 01-03-2004, 03:54 PM you guys better talk to Greg he said something to me today about last night and I said it was the loop and he said that they need to put in a bridge because he doesn't want to screw up the paving job irvan36mm 01-03-2004, 11:37 PM that is what most everyone is doing, I just thought I would ask to see if they had come up with anything better Clifford- That's about the only & best way to do it right now.
