sorry I forgot sopmething yes roar has messed up there oval classes that is why there rules aren't followed at HW or FCCR.

also this isn't the place but FCCR the carpet track looked into private insurance and it wasn't so cheap. So the reason for us going to roar is insurance and that most the other tracks in the area require it plus alot of the guys that race with us already had it. if you like carpet racing then you should come down and have fun. it is always a blast

2. I'm a ROAR track and host "club" races every week. We have never applied for a sanctioned event. Will our club racers, that are ROAR members, be covered if they get hurt at a club race?

YES if all racers at the race are required to be ROAR members.

3. I'm a spectator and go to watch a ROAR event. While walking around checking out the event I trip over an extension cord in the pits and fall and hurt myself. Will ROAR insurance cover this or is the track responsible?

This is a question that should be asked of our insurance agent. I have never heard of a claim involving a spectator.

I was just suggesting it for you since you are trying to build a Saturday following and had all the suggestions for improving upon John's And since setting up the carpet is too much twice a month, why not bring those same folks up the road 7 miles and run another great race each month. You two can do it. You are proving at the argyle church.

I love the new improvements at Hobby World and people need to come down and check it out, even if its on the weekend :) . I voted for Friday night and don't mind if it was switched to Saturday night.
Saturday from 5 - 9. That would be sweet. I'd run the races if we all switched to Saturday night from 5 - 9 and a Lay Z boy was installed under the drivers stand for my comfort. And I would need a cauppucino machine serving up a tasty beverage when my throat is partched. And I would want everyone's cars to be painted only in their respective high school colors. Only Spec brushes in all classes and no hand wounds either.

See Shawn here lies the problem you voted for friday night without taking into consideration of the holidays that fall on thursday and the cold, it is keeping people away. the sunday thing was ment to be only for a few months. her is my grip HW should have just said yah we are now running sundays. with the crowd that comes out on friday racing on to days is stupid. why split a already small crowd. we could have all benifited from running sundays only. why don't I just shut up and run sunday. because friday night is the points race and I want the plaque.

I know that me and John can do it i just don't want to do it. see I due the church thing for the love of carpet. but to be honest I haven't been albe to do waht I would like too there. that is race. yah i throw a car down but I would love to be able to tweek on the car. and it just isn't fair to the racers for me too do that there isn't alot of time when you run a race and oh sh!t if you break something. A touring car and 12th scale require alot of attention to be fast. yah i am winning but to me that doesn't matter going faster does. I want to hit 36 laps on the current layout. and in order to do that you must maintain the car properly which I am not doing. so to sum it up thanks for the kind words but i like racing much better.

ok fair grip what do your hear alot at HW " I'm going to run that next point series." aqnd they don't run that class till the next time. plus it would take 4 mounths to run a points show at FCCR. I would rather have a trophie race every so often. also fccr only sorce of income is race fees. which doesn't go along ways

to everybody who reads this I am not trying to push buttons or say that what we have sucks because it doesn't. there is just alot of room for inprovement.

guys ,, i typed what i thought i should say ,, and i be honest i got very mad the more i typed the more i get mad,, then i stop and thinked why is something i like to do is making me so mad. so i have change my mind and decided not to post what i was goin to but i still want yall to know this does effect me alot ,,, what all the bs over when to run , who goin to run , do you got roar , the higher entry fee and etc.

i will say this i have enjoyed this hobby since 1989 and won over 100 trophies and even a track championship, i have even had sponsers and made alot of friends during this time, so i even think of as family,, but if all the bs dont stop ,, well i think my racin in general or in jax fla will. i will either go to tracks that have lesser entry fee and higher car count or just quit,

see i have two boys that think dads cars are the neatest thing. i keep waiting to the day they can run and hope they will enjoy this as much as i have over the years but its stuff like this that make me believe that might not happen. then i tought if iam thinking like this and i love this hobby what is the possable future races are thinking when they see all of this and what they think,, then we wounder why we dont have one or two new racers every other week ,, or even every three months which would be a blessing in its self for our hobby. just something to think about.

What you see is what you get.At least it's a place to race.If you don't like what's happening form your own club-make a portable drivers stand- and find a park lot to race on.Then you get to wonder who's going to set-up and tear down the track and who's going to store it.
You want a schedule for for HW- :wave: Jan.[2-9-16-23-30] weather permitting. Sundays in Jan ?[ 11-25] . To make Sundays happen just show up.Communicate before that Sunday to see how many of you will show and go from there. :wave:

hobby world has always ran on friday and i dont see that changing.the way i understood it was racing every friday night,as usually,and also a race every other sunday.with that i say i will see you guys friday night.and the weather should be good for racing. :roll:

speaking from what's gone on in the past- There is not going to be anymore racing this year.All the newbies will be out there and that's it.They might start back on the 2nd?Or you could call them and get the real answer!

i think that your best bet is to call hobby world 904 772 9022 don't hold me to this but from what I was told no racing this friday night. and if you go by what they said about sunday racing then this sunday should be a race but i was told that they didn't know if that was going to happen.

just to clear something up HW has raced friday night for years they are trying the sunday thing there first attempt was on the on the 14th which was rained out so if you go everytwo weeks it should be the 28th dec. in 04 for jan it should be 11th and the 25 but nobody can confirm these dates so call the store and ask them if i get a answer I'll post it.

seems weird that the racers would pay insurance for an event and not have the spectators watching the event be covered in some way by the plan. Sounds like a waste of insurance?

It seems like its a done deal anyway so who really cares. We just need to pony up. I just feel bad for the newbies who don't really take it up fully but have to dish out 60 dollars total for the first TWO races?? I just think less people will come and give it a try the first time. Maybe HW could add some incentive for the first timer. Maybe don't charge for the first race, but still collect the 15 bucks for ROAR and then let them pay the 30 the second time they come. just an idea.

yo can really make out pretty good on the membership deal if you go to books a million and pick up a rc extreme and send it the membership card in the back and get a free mag subscription for one year.

Oh my, I havent looked at this since yesterday early afternoon and now there are four more pages to read. As Dave P.said earlier the store needs to be called for any race info because I heard through the grapevine theres no racing this friday or sunday.

And as far as the whole roar deal goes this discussion on whether or not to join is really a moot point as it was one of the owners, Don Swink who made that decision and he never reads this stuff. So the arguments can go either way and it wont change a thing. So when they do start requiring it which has been said would be january it will be just that, Required.

Now I will have to wait to race because as the major procrastinator I am I still have'nt sent in my membership application and to be honest I dont know when I will but I know to be able to race there again or at the carpet track I'll be needing a roar card. My first one in 1980 was number 1105. I wonder what I'll get this time.

And for the "what will roar do for me" guys which I have been one in the past, ask yourself this. What has your auto insurance done for you? Nothing until you needed it then I'll bet you were glad you had it.

Where do you guys get this 60.00 to run . It's 30.00 a year for ROAR and 15.00 for one class. That's only 45.00.If you like you can do the weekend payment of 15.00 and one class 15.00 = 30.00 for two weekends. That expensive ROAR membership = one new stock motor.As Dave said you can get a free (20.00) value magazine subscription to Xtreme R/C for one year if you send the 30.00 and the coupon to ROAR.
You guys always make such a big deal out of the yearly membership. But when the new quizmo comes out your the first in line to get one.And finally they have been saying this for how many months (2-3).
If you want to race at the new track in orlando - guess what -it's ROAR.You want to race in any series in Florida- it's ROAR.The carpet track in town is going with ROAR.Tuffy's track whenever it races again is ROAR.
As for the old extension cord thing .If everyone racing is a current ROAR member and they are following the rules it should be covered.How many people have tripped over the extension cord. I'd worry more about a car hitting someone - how about the wooden drivers stand falling or a step breaking.I've seen just one car hitting someone in 20 years of racing.Drivers stand falling- heard about just one falling.Insurance is always good to have- just so you DON'T have to use it.Why do you think these nice lawyer adds are for on TV - "For the People"?

I will tell you who I am. I own Echeconnee Superspeedway in Macon GA. My name is Clifford Kline and Andy Thompson and myself have run our track since April of 1992. We have done the ROAR thing and the NORRCA thing both. NORRCA keeps getting sold and ROAR is run soley by the big manufacturers. Whatever they want approved, get's approved. All I am saying to you guys is make sure you are getting the coverage you think you are getting before jumping in with both feet. We must be doing something right here in Macon, we have seen lot's of tracks come and go, even in Jacksonville and one thing always remains constant, they were usually affiliated with ROAR in some way.
