Lee, Yes sunday is the first race of the every other sunday experiment. I think its been posted that 1:30 is the starting time but I'll be getting there as soon as someone opens the gate. the store opens at 12:00 so somebody should be there before that. I'm going to run stock as of right now, I need to find that two lap deficit to Wade L and Joe mama.

Glad to meet you Kind of. Clifford. I believe Wade from valdosta mentioned he's run with you guys up there before. Macon is a good little trip. I go to reynolds every november for a buick olds and pontiac show and race and you're just up the road a piece from there.

Also after the first of the year the track owners are supposed to be requiring roar membership to race.

ROAR membership? Geez I hope not, could give them a thousand reasons why they shouldn't do that........

They can give you a thousand reasons why- lawyers.I know your stance on ROAR.Everyone in Jacksonville is requiring ROAR membership as of Jan 1st. Ask someone about a very lucky shop in keystone .This is as well as all 4 state series will reguire ROAR. Also the RPM complex in Orlando will be ROAR.There are actually very few tracks that aren't ROAR santioned in Florida.

Actually, that should be "ask those lucky few that didn't have the driver's stand collapse on top of them!" Could have been very tragic.

anyone know what the cost will be for the race? Any chance the Friday night people who show up Sunday will get 5 bucks off?? I will spend three times that in store racing another day (with wear and tear) ;) hope there is a good turn out. Come on down before its ROAR'd.

Well it looks as if sundays forecast of 70% chance of rain pretty much dooms the first sunday race to a non event. I was so looking forward to it and did a little work on my cars to get ready. There'll be other days.

last night was a blast had a great time running door to door with Earl and Mrs.Rook. looks like a 20 lap run is all you are going to see in 19t we have a 14 sec club which Earl is the only member right now. If I only had tire warmers.

in the Oval congrats to all who went 6.9 last night but it is no big deal now it is 6.8 who will hit the first 6.7 and who will run 35 laps

WOW! Everybody seemed to be going faster & faster last Friday night!
Especially in 4-cell 19t! And lots of times going down as fast as the temperature, too.
Huge congrats to the recent inductees into the “HW Sub-6 Club”: Phil Owen (finally!), Dan McClinton (who first broke the 6.9 trend with a 6.8 sec lap!) and John Pilgrim. Here’s how the list looks like after Friday 12/12/03:

HW SUB-6 CLUB: 4-CELL 19T
11/21/03: 6.9 DELBERT HILL (1 LAP)
11/28/03: 6.9 TOM MARLOWE (1 LAP)
12/05/03: 6.9 JOHN HART (2 LAPS)
12/12/03: 6.9 PHIL OWEN (18 LAPS-including (4) 6.9 laps in a row in A-Main)
6.8 PHIL OWEN (2 LAPS)
6.9 DAN McCLINTON (1 LAP)
6.8 DAN McCLINTON (1 LAP- first one to score a 6.8)
6.9 JOHN HART (3 LAPS)
6.8 JOHN HART (1 LAP)
6.9 JOHN PILGRIM (1 LAP)
A “Lucky Dog” congrats goes out to Dave Puliafico for winning the first qual of 19t touring with 2 of 4 wheel nuts left! (Thanx for the water!) And for winning the touring mains, too!

What next?? A 6.7 lap???

yeh the whell nut thing was something else it's a little embarassing. it really blistered the tires. I had a new set of 22's to run but I'll wait till these are totally done. I think with a fresh set of 22's and some tire warmers I can get into the 14's. I would like to thank Tom M for the motor help.

Guys I'm still planning on riding out to the track today but the weather report looks like its taken a turn for the worse. Now up 80% chance of rain in the afternoon. Its now 9:00 here in Orange Park and its not raining as of this moment but it's really gray outside. Gray I can handle, wet I cant. See those of you who show up later.

Well to those that showed up today, George Ramos, Tom marlowe, Phil Owen, John Hart, Lee Helander and myself. I had a good time watching y'all trying to stay ahead of the ever falling leaves.

Once the track dried out and it did we had a good time playing around and I experimented with some stuff on my 4cell stock setup. One more thing. Phil is fast, very fast, very very very fast, very very very very oh you get the idea. Hanging out at the track all day kinda reminded me of when I used to hang out at the track all day. Is that deja vu?

Remember, Keep it off the pipes, They knock your body posts loose.

Butts-I'm looking through the ROAR rulebook for any regulations regarding leaf-shedding trees around tracks! lol After the 3rd or 4th time of chasing leaves,I just had to give up! lol Yes,Phil is very fast, even dirt doesn't stick to his tires! As soon as he figures out the track/car setup, watch out!!!! And no,Futaba crystals do not work w/JR radios! (AM or FM) lol

George it's ROAR rule #c-h-a-i-n-s-a-w................
Those pesky leave and acorns have always been a problem. The problem with that rule is it also helps keep the noise down to the neighbors.Maybe a tree net like they use in resturants for empolyees?

Bundle up guys. The weather people are saying its gonna be really cold friday night. I'm jones'in to race something now really bad.

And also has anyone bought one of the new binary outlaw stock motors yet? Theres a pretty interesting discussion going on about the ill/legality of them. The rules are real straight forward but some tracks are allowing them. Hobby world has a counter full of them too. I almost bought one or two to play with because in years past the rules have been changed to suit what people were buying.

david,
how much is hw asking for one, keep the 4 cell stock class going dave ,, with all the rule changing with motors in 19 at all tracks its easier to get a stock motor and run at alot of tracks,, instead of arcor here 19t or chamelon 19t there,, so on ,, makes it hard to buy one type of nineteen turn motor and go race at alot of tracks.

maybe bullfrog can let us know about the rules on the stock quads.

BIGDON

David Butts
12-16-2003, 08:06 PM
Don I think they're asking $34.99 for the motors and I here ya about the standardization or the lack thereof. The major stumbling block with the new quad magnet stock motors is the fact that it has 4(quad)magnets and the current roar rule says only two ceramic mags max.

Now if you'll remember way back in time when trinity released the "new" slot machine stock motor. It also wasnt legal when it was released but was soon after. I think its a matter of time before the motor rules will be opened up to the point where the only diference in motors or the classes in which they run will be what wind is in the can at the time the buzzer goes off.

When I got out of racing the last time there was no way a rebuildable stock motor was even feasible much less allowed now look at them, Even the so called low buck spec versions are reuseable.

I forecast that within 10 years or sooner there will be no classes for brushed motors at all once the manufacturers get the brushless versions more affordable for the masses. You think that a $49.95 walmart dvd player has a $240 brushless motor in it. same theory just more cost controlled and no speed variable control.

bigdon18
12-16-2003, 08:21 PM
yeah i know what your saying, i see them being legal real soon,, since they are already in 19t. thats why i like to try one or two soon and get a grip on them on tuning them,, but from what i have seen it just like a monster with just a tick more rpm , rpm is nothing but a gear ratio,, the power number are good on the top end but the bottom and middle are crapy just like a monster.

as for brushless ,, your right also on that ,, when they make it cheap enuff for everybody it will happen specially if they find away to police them as for tech. teching ,,,lol that whole nother story.

HW can run what they want to.If your following ROAR rules for club races-they can race them. They just aren't ROAR Legal and won't be this year(2004), that's what I was told.At any ofter ROAR level 2-3-4 event they are illegal. HW is a level 1. Just go out and have some fun.

The carnage isn't that bad guys! I thought there was less rubbin the last few times since we've gone to open chassis and the new surface.

Gonna be a cold one this Friday. I'm on call so hopefully no one will have any chest pain after 5 pm and then decide to go to St. Lukes.

Anyone on here going to Snowbirds? I know that Dan and Dave P. are going. Who else, and what classes are ya'll running? Me and Jason are going for the first time and will run 4-cell stock. I'm getting there wed evening, hopefully in time to get my stuff together to do the club race on thur night. does anyone know if the handout rule applies to the club race for stock?

Bigdon & DaveP- That sounds like a good idea for a new FCCR shirt for 2004! Have Don's saying on the front & the FCCR logo on the back? LMK if you guys (or anyone else here) would be interested! May cost the same as the current shirts-I'll find out before the next carpet race! LMK!
Yeah,Rob's probably the best running wallflower out there (next to our stalker buddy). That's why the yellow line is around the track-so he could find it easier! lol In reality,he's been running really good lately. Actually caught up w/me for a 2nd qual win last week. I ragged on him in the pits about failing to win in the mains. Sure enough,he got into trouble & wasn't a threat to win the main! I think I figured him out! MUAHAHAHA!
