As posted on Tuffy's forum- you want to race with the turnbuckle linkage- it's temporaliy open to either for a limited time.It's not going to make you any faster.

The linkage is not a issue with me,I just moved to the area a few weeks back and am trying to find what I can run and where. Me being new to the area and relatively new to RC racing ( 2 years ) I thought it would be best to ask. I have two Legends both bought used,one had steering linkage,rear axle height adjusters and 64 pitch gears and the outher is completely box stock.Neither car came with the Official Rules.
All I want to do is race and have a good time,not change what yall are doing! My fax is 904-260-5395 if you would send me the info I would appreciate it.
Are the Legend, Spec and 4-cell stock classes for beginners like me?

yeah man running them , they are so lite you can pick up two or even maybe three laps ,,,, :lol:

Na, i know the wire links in the kits SUCK,, but if that is what you got to run dont sweat it,, just get them set and soilder you a spot well on the linkage so it want come loose during the race.. the linkage system on the cars do work good that way , thats how i ran my sprinter when i had it. maybe this will help.

If we have a small track running, I wouldn't mind running the ol'spec chassis around it a couple times too. Would be good practice for the carpet. Plus I gotta do something with it since we are only doing carpet once a month :( Maybe a "lock" class like the legends.

All of you are late! I suggested fixing the short-track a couple of months ago,but George was the only one who said " yeah,that would be cool". The owners of HW will be glad to hear that everyone NOW wants to run Legends,but I bet they don't have but one car in stock at this point. I see debate and trash-talking on two threads now,due to talk of Legends racing,but what I know is that they are supposed to be "box stock" period. If anyone wants to deviate from this,then you are going to fuel Bullfrog's fire,....and it sounds like you guys have already got him wound up,from what I have been reading. At HW,the politics are supposed to stop at the gate coming in,so let's just go to have a good time,...period.Why is anyone talking about changing things anyway,are the original parts still not available? If they are not,then it should be whatever you can find,if you really want to run the class.And I'm sure that the deal might be sour if you have to go somewhere else to get the parts to run a car at HW. Why not run a HW Legends class? Legends chassis,bearings,ANY 4-cell pack,spec motor,Legends axle and hubs,any front end parts you can find,on a legends front axle plate? We can just abort the box stock thing for better durability,faster speeds,and longer run time,say,races of eight minutes? We can just do a Pro-spec deal on the Legends class too,and the controversy can end. I mean,you guys really want to run the cars,right? And you really want Bill breathing down your neck,making sure that you ALL are roar legal,right?

Yup we ran. We got started about 9:15. I did a baaaaaad thing when I got there..... I brought the rain at 8pm when I got there to race. :(

HOWEVER thanks to Dave P. and I think Jay(spec) dried the track of after it stopped raining with the blowers. Give them a big THANK YOU next time you see them. :thumbsup:

I even placed 3rd in ...(ya ya I know :D )... Touring stock.

I'm gonna crash that party. Figuratively speaking. I was impressed by how well the majority of the cars got around the oval friday night. Oh no! I think I'll have to get me some of that action too. I knew I should have stayed away from all the rc racing thats going on around here. I'm gonna have to get a second job before its over with. I never thought a weed eater would be a required tool to race at hw but now that looks as if its mandatory.

All joking aside if Jay hadnt have had steel toed shoes on friday night when he took a direct hit to the front of his shoe/foot during an oval heat there definately would've been an injury time out. :cry:

From what Jay says they will be there to setup the track and there may be some time to practice. I for one would rather bring my stuff over and find a place to pit since the area is smaller and a few extra folks will be coming. Don't want to have to pit in the yard. What's everybody else think? :confused: :confused:

Hey guys I stopped by hw again today as I got off early(I went to work at 0530) and man does that outside green groove look fast. I'm gonna put a wing on my weed eater before heading back out there. Anybody wanna race? :jest: It looks like we may get a little rain but I'm still gonna work as planned. Water dries, lightning kills! As long as there's none of that flashy stuff we'll be ok. :thumbsup: I may be going a little earlier than we all planned too. Apparently after talking to Don yesterday they got out the trusty old riding lawn mower and broke a belt before getting much cut but he says he's going to get one this afternoon. Rook says he'll help out too if there's anything still needing to be done after the store closes. I've spoken to a couple more oldtimers recently and they too may be coming out friday night to see whats up. Could this be snowballing? We'll see. Can you oval guys stand a little competiton? 8 or 10 car heats with a couple of mains in the different classes could be in the future at the old homestead. Largest car count we ever had on a friday night was 111 during one of the dirt oval championship series that were put on in 89 or 90. Could this type of enthusiasm be returning? Oh my fingers are trembling just thinking about it. :roll:

Hey guys I asked Phil Owen tonight at hw to post that my computer had taken a dump and I was unable to post anything until it was fixed but Now I'm home at 0100(whew what a night of racing,both bench and otherwise) and my beautiful wife has it working again. :wave: Also since my aging computer was down yesterday I'd like to thank Rob(rc1man4) for coming out thursday night and working in the rain with me. Apparently several others called the store and were mistakenly informed that we had left when we were indeed still outback working. Did anyone notice the major weeds were gone as promised? I was told tonight that there were major improvents coming maybe within the next few weeks. We'll see. Yes maybe we will see, like the third and fourth turns. Keep your trigger fingers crossed, and keep'em off the pipes!

Are you slinging batts out of your Pro-Spec car? If so,you're probably better off getting some RC10 battery cups from HW. Around $6,I believe. BTW,what car are you running?? If you have one w/a slider batt tray,I may be able to make you one for the Spec packs out of Kydex & battery cups. LMK!

Sorry I couldn't join you guys Thurs as promised-had to work late. :cry: But thanks to you & Rob for making the track facility looking a whole lot better! Also Joespec & I were talking after the race and both noticed the new gutter for the back wall pits. Hopefully the major improvements will bring more racers back to HW! If it doesn't rain Sunday,I'll be going out there to run some more laps w/the Pro-Spec car. I'll be there around 1200-1230 if you or anybody wants to join in! A couple of the guys are wanting to come out,too. Weather permitting,of course! I may bring my drill & take a look at the small oval. (Future HW Legends action, anybody??)

I was running my old street spec chassis Friday night, after looking at it this morning I think the sharp edge under the battery tray was cutting the cheap tape I was using :(
I will try and come out Sun around noon( after the honey dues )help ya with the short track and mess around.

Heyyy Philll :wave: I spoke to somebody else you may remember today. Steve Hollis and his oldest son Matt. Matt was always a force to deal with on the dirtoval, offroad, paved oval and monster firstcoast superspeedway. Well the bugs been put in their ears now too. Hmm Fred Garret also says He and Kenneth may be looking for something to do. Bob Conner has been seen recently at Hobby World buying parts. I stopped by the track after work today and there were enough oval racers practicing to have run an actual race. Its all good. Also Steve and Matt still have their speedway stuff so they're only a couple of batteries and a motor or two away from being race ready. I'm really leaning towards the 4cell 19t class myself as a second class to get more from my racing dollars. In great big letters, I"M HOOKED ALL OVER AGAIN!

Hey Dave can we have an old timers race,that sounds great I would like to see Matt,Kenneth, Bob, Myself, and you,heck thats one heat alone. I'm glad to see all the interest in oval racing at the squirrel/roller coaster again I might have to get my car through 3-4 a little better,be nice to see the corners though. :eek:

Don, I'd consider it a privledge to trade lexan with you again. I found some of the old clay around the track when I was working on it thursday night. As long as I know its there my cars will get around there just fine. Does anybody know of any of the old first coast racers? I'm sure some of those guys would enjoy some racing since their track is now gone. Speaking of you guys like Don who have a trailer. It wont be long before we have the turn 3,4 parking area all cleaned up as it was in the past.There is no view of the big oval like there is from down low in 3 and 4. It's actually The lowest part of the property which gives you a great view of the back stretch too. Any photagrapers out there who know how to post pictures here?
