The main thing is that you are out there now! A prayer for your child,I hope that everything goes well for his proceedure! He's got to be able to hear John yell,"GO" so he don't get beat into the first turn like Jason has tried to do to me  So, a birthday coming up? Does that mean that you will have alot of squeeling 7 year old girls all over the place? I feel for you,bro  xpss 04-25-2003, 12:16 PM dont forget if it rains us out friday tuffy is racing saturday night.dont be scared of the rain, tuffys track is banked all the way around so it dries super fast......bear metrodog 04-25-2003, 03:23 PM save me a spot in the pits. Bear you got mail. Don  joespec 04-28-2003, 04:41 AM Last day of vacation, and what to do? going to the track of course! Last run of this points series coming up this friday night, and I have got to switch my stuff from stun to kill! Practice practice practice! irvan36mm 04-28-2003, 10:59 PM Last day of vacation, and what to do? going to the track of course! Last run of this points series coming up this friday night, and I have got to switch my stuff from stun to kill! Practice practice practice! Joespec- How did your practice session go? Did you get your truck dialed in? Saw some HPI truck bodies in HW the other day. These are the same ones that Shannon & I are running in Nastruck. -George Joe Malin 04-28-2003, 11:23 PM Do I see a sub 7 second lap this week in 19T ? irvan36mm 04-29-2003, 07:54 AM Joe- If there's a sub-7 sec lap to be turned,it'll be between you & Phil! That's considering the "Pilgrim Factor" doesn't bite either or both of you! (wibble, wobble  )Good luck to both of you! -George shawnleary 04-29-2003, 06:12 PM Street Spec Friday: Should be a fun night, three guys are battling for the third place plaque. Joe Spec, Greg, and Shannon. Hopefully the weather will stay like it has been. Joe Malin I got 10 bucks that says you won't pull off a 6.9 sec lap? Whatya say? Bet? Fastest Spec lap is 7.9, less than a second behind the 19t guys. Shawn http://home.attbi.com/~shawnleary/streetspec/spec DEO RACING 04-29-2003, 07:19 PM Concerning who is going turn the first sub 7 .0 lap I think Joe will turn the first one, don't let the old guy fool you. That old dog is coming to hunt Friday night. Guess I better go work on some motors. Phillip :jest: bigdon18 04-29-2003, 07:32 PM man,,, iam still try to tell my daughter she should have her birthday party at the track,, still a no go, phillip , you post to much,, good to see you on here, Don joespec 04-29-2003, 10:57 PM George,....actually,after saturday night, the last day of my vacation,I spent trying to get through the second disc of syphon filter 2,a total departure from R/C racing! I wanted to go to the track, but after some thought,it didn't do me any good to go to HW several days before a race, however,I did all my track-side set-up saturday, for Tuffy's,on my spec car,and had it pacing for a 62 lap run, which would have been a nice notch on the pit box,had things turned out different.Have you ever thought you had the set-up dialed in,only to have the actual track conditions change, and you were junk? I did,the last friday night we raced,so,....no more! I'm going to do my tuning right before the racing from now on,to get the most from the current track situation. The truck is ready! Mounted the body on for breakfast sunday :freak: Got the batteries mounted in a more orderly fashion too. It was easy to run two classes, when I ran two spec classes,it's more consuming now,but still fun,....i think? Want to hit 30 laps in spec,31 in truck. One thing I found out for sure saturday night,my good cells were in fact no good for anything but slamming in the truck, for some play.Joe,Phil,Bear,Tuffy, are all safe from me wanting to get a piece of what they got going on! Hat's off to them, for their driving, and for the commitment they have to go fast, whatever it costs,I would shudder to ask. Seeya friday  irvan36mm 04-29-2003, 11:28 PM Concerning who is going turn the first sub 7 .0 lap I think Joe will turn the first one, don't let the old guy fool you. That old dog is coming to hunt Friday night. Guess I better go work on some motors. Phillip :jest: Phil- I dunno! I would like to see you & your Maverick '03 car turn the first sub-7.0 lap! I think that Malin would probably get caught up in the "Pilgrim Factor"! j/k Turn a 6.8-9 for Jake @ JPH!!!! -George bigdon18 04-30-2003, 02:04 PM oh man i think iam goin threw with draws,,time to take a pain pill now  joe and phillip are goining lay all the cards on the table fridaynight, you will see the good stuff being run, they act all come and layed back like the pros they are, but i have been around long enuff and i can feel and sence the spark that has flamed up this run for sub 7sec lap , so HW get ready i think its gettin very close to flashpoint,,,,,,booooooooommm a 6 sec lap            the above is the other racers on the driver stand, just whis i would be one of them,,,dont be surpise if joe or phillip start singing  the phill collins song i can feel it comin in the air tonite :freak: good luck guys , and i hope you both break the 6 sec lap barrier.. Don  joespec 05-02-2003, 04:37 AM I would say that with the barriers approaching sub 7 second laps,I guess the bumps aren't so big after all. Here's to good driving  That's one of the reasons they call it a "Pro" class. Joe Malin 05-02-2003, 11:46 AM As quoted by Todd Putnam.............. "You can't fire a cannon from a canoe, and without good cars and drivers, motors are useless." Food for thought........... bigdon18 05-02-2003, 02:02 PM Joe, try to send you an email but wouldnt work, so i pm you. lmk by mail bigdon@wayxcable.com Don katf1sh 05-02-2003, 04:58 PM so joe are you saying with a good wheel man behind your sled we would see sub 4 second laps? ahahahahahahahahahah joe and phil are all motor neither ever let you see a pull on the dyno! na na na na :freak: joespec 05-03-2003, 05:55 AM Last night was alot of fun! New track records set in all three classes of oval! The last night of this series leaves one thing behind,....the anticipation for the start of the next one! joespec 05-05-2003, 06:06 AM A few"Thank you's" to go out,.....Thanks goes to John P.he has prepped a good track to race on,early every friday afternoon, while everyone else has been trying to get off work and rush to the track. Thanks to Dave R.and others who have worked to get better lighting, and other track improvements,as well as provide good store help, for those cheap old farts like myself, who might need that one little part, buried somewhere on the R/C wall. Thanks to Hobby World,Don,Greg, and everyone who works there, through the years,it has always been a wonderful place to race! Can't wait for the next series :freak: joespec 05-08-2003, 05:59 AM If I get the little oval fixed, perhaps we could incorporate this into the next series? We could always do like a couple of years ago,and have one road-course race in the series too,.....what does everybody think? irvan36mm 05-08-2003, 07:59 AM If I get the little oval fixed, perhaps we could incorporate this into the next series? We could always do like a couple of years ago,and have one road-course race in the series too,.....what does everybody think? Tha would be cool! Of course, that all depends on the others whether they want to do that or not. :drunk: I'm all for it! -George metrodog 05-08-2003, 10:34 PM I'm always up for a little variety, conut me in! By the way I finnaly finished 6-cell stock car as well. Joe dan may have an extra am reciever you can have. Give him a call or drop him an e-mail so he's doesn't pull his alzhimers routine! LOL :jest: \ Greg joespec 05-09-2003, 04:49 AM As a whole,I think that we do better than the U.N.,but it is hard to get everyone to agree on everything at times. The talk of eliminating the little oval was shot down by the owners, even though we haven't raced Legends in a long time. But for their reasons, they are right. So,we have to fix it the way it's supposed to be,and George is right,it won't take but 10 minutes or so.I didn't get to it thursday, but there should be time friday.Having said that,it would be nice to incorporate this track in our series,as well as maybe the road-course,for one race, just to show that we are consumate drivers. I know one to two that won't want the road course, possibly one who won't want the bullring either,so I guess what we really need to get is more drivers in the class! I know that we are getting maybe one to two more drivers, and we are going to have to work with them,so that they are up to speed, when we go back to speedway action,at least the bullring would be good for new racers to start on,I wouldn't mind another 6-cell,open mod.outlaw sprint car run either :freak: joespec 05-12-2003, 05:41 AM There are several Legends cars out there still,if we fix the track, then they might come out and race again. joespec 05-13-2003, 06:10 AM Went to the track last friday, they told me that there was no racing that night, there was no one even there to see if........don't know if there will be anyone racing this friday, with the actual first carpet race the next day at the church. One can hope  I guess when we all decide to show up,we can fix the track then. joespec 05-13-2003, 06:24 AM Oh yeah,....after reviewing the "4-cell/6-cell poll",......we could race 4-cell stock at HW,if we get the short-track fixed! It's a growing class at Tuffy's,there is no reason not to run them at HW! Our reason for not running this in the past has been the size of the speedway, but on the bullring,.....this class would be a blast  metrodog 05-13-2003, 10:17 PM Joespec, I planned on racing friday. I need to get some track time with my 6-cell stock nastruck. And see about shaving .2-.3 off my spec times. The hell with everybody if they no show we'll have our own race! LOL greg :jest: irvan36mm 05-14-2003, 12:54 AM Went to the track last friday, they told me that there was no racing that night, there was no one even there to see if........don't know if there will be anyone racing this friday, with the actual first carpet race the next day at the church. One can hope  I guess when we all decide to show up,we can fix the track then. Joe- The way I see it,it's just like playing 2 nights back-to-back at nightclubs! Get off work on Friday afternoon, haul ass to bank (payday!),haul ass to track,set-up equipment, charge batteries, practice, wait, race, marshall next race, fix car, charge batts, wait, eat, wait, race, marshall next race, fix car, charge batts, wait, get raffle tix, wait, run your mains, marshall next race, pack up,go home, get 2-4 hrs sleep, wake up at 7:00,get to carpet (this weekend) by 8:00,set-up equipment, charge batteries, practice, wait, race, marshall next race, fix car, charge batts, wait, eat, wait, race, marshall next race, fix car, charge batts, wait, get raffle tix, wait, run your mains, marshall next race, pack up,go home! No Problem! It's only rock & roll!! -George joespec 05-14-2003, 05:03 AM Yeah dude,.....I hear you. And trust me,....if I didn't have to work,I would be there too. Jarc 05-14-2003, 09:02 AM Its very simple. CPT ran EVERY WEEK. That was the business and they needed that to keep the doors OPEN. FCCR was based on 2 things. 1. PROMOTING R/C in general to the public and bring new blood in. 2. Step up the drivers ability overall and give the competitive edge needed when you visit OTHER rug venues, and not look like a skull when you do show up somewhere because YOU just dont have the practice time on a rug!! This little once a month race should NOT be a reason to stop going Friday nights to HW. Things should be as normal around here with an ADDED extra race ONCE a month on a SATURDAY. Geesh people, dont bite the hand that feeds ya just because you get a extra serving somewhere else now and again. Enjoy asphalt...Enjoy Carpet.... Enjoy the RACING. Aint that what its all about? irvan36mm 05-14-2003, 09:16 AM Yeah dude,.....I hear you. And trust me,....if I didn't have to work,I would be there too. Working on weekends sucks! But ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I'll save you a pit spot just in case! -George bigdon18 05-14-2003, 11:28 AM i feel a cold coming on,, ,,,, call in  tell them your eyes hurt, and you just cant see coming in......  Don :dude: joespec 05-15-2003, 06:23 AM Jarc,...nobody is biting anybody's anything,....... My remarks to Shawn were in detail on another matter,.....stepped on a few toes,I guess,....but isn't that what a forum is about,....thought processes.Perhaps I should've taken Bill's advice,....but hindsight is 20/20,right? CPT was a wonderful thing,it's a shame that they had the misfortune to have to close, but several in this town saw that coming too, just as it had in previous attempts as well. Your carpet race is great, and I want you to accomplish everything you have stated you want to do with this. At the same time, understand that friday night racing works well for several of us,because we have other commitments to take care of on the weekends,so for someone to spur comment on,or about friday night racing,I would think healthy, and not neccessarily asking for the same post from you, spread about on diferent threads. As I said before, what most of you took as an attack on your deal,I'm all for racing wherever it is,but the point I made is that we don't have a very big pool of drivers here,so we see the same folks showing up at different venues. Fine,....but after a while, this can lead to burnout. I would support your racing deal in person,if I could, but priorities exist. However,I have supported your deal online, and am doing so now,so don't fuel the fire! Shawn, and several others, myself included, went through not racing on friday nights, because everyone else was going across the river to CPT,those several people were the ones who count on friday nights to support their racing habit,so to speak. Explanation on what took place in that time lead to all of this crap directed at me now. This is bad that so many can see opinion from one as an attack, like r/c racing is a possession,or a person.........it's a hobby, that's all.New racers is what we all need for r/c to flourish here! The good folks from Georgia make the sacrifice to come and race with us here, greatly appreciated for sure!! It would be good to know that it was more worth their while to come and race against 60+people,instead of 10 to 20,and have to stay the whole weekend just to even see 50. Your venue helps for sure, but if you want to see it as a permanent entity one day,we all need more racers! agreed? My original focus was on friday racing,or the lack thereof, when something else was going on.So,to address this, hopefully would spur comment, and commitment to keep on racing! Everything that was directed to me was uncalled for,but I took the "bigger man"step, and apologized for it anyway. But all of you see what you have now,and don't see how it all started, before you became benefactors of it. joespec 05-15-2003, 06:33 AM Bullfrog,....after seeing all of this, from people who are supposed to be "just having fun" I can appreciate all the junk that you have gone through over the years. Sorry to have caused a little of that myself. Mob mentality  don't know?....but as long as we are having fun  BullFrog 05-15-2003, 07:11 AM Thank you Joe- some other advise given to me: put the keyboard down, you get into less trouble that way. I know where your coming from.Let's just try to stay foucused on the current racing venues. I'm sure by talking with two of the three involved they have an understanding of the situation.Enjoy what we got- it's getting better. irvan36mm 05-15-2003, 07:55 AM OK,enough of this! Let's get back to racing, already! :D -George metrodog 05-15-2003, 09:42 AM Well george I strip my hobby world spec down to a pile of parts, used a half a can of motor spray. Found and repaired problems. It is ready for next point series. Might even run 1-2 19t heats to test maverick chasiss. But will run entire series in nastruck and spec. greg  xpss 05-15-2003, 11:22 AM joespec,i just cant justify racing at hobby world when they do nothing to fix up the track and just dont care if we race at all.tuffy is putting all the money back to the track.the carpet track is a track by racers for racers.see you guys saturday!!!!bear katf1sh 05-15-2003, 12:56 PM bear you are beating a dead horse on the hobby world deal, lol. the hand full of guys they have who plunk down there entry and get to work on the track and marshall are hard core to say the least! lol kinda like going through the mcdonalds drive through placing your order than going inside to cook and bag it? ouch! the carpet track and tuffy's may be to easy for them? just showing up might kill them? he he he hail to JARC AND HAIL TO TUFFY'S ! cant wait till sat! woooooooooooooo on top of all that the carpet deal is on saturdays and so is tuffy's but both deals have managed to work it out... bear you better have your lathe ready and a monster i can borrow 69 watts or better! cneyedog 05-15-2003, 02:58 PM bear, you gonna be doin some motor work at the carpet race ? ..... i have a 19T or 2 for you to freshen up :D Jarc 05-15-2003, 03:01 PM bear, you gonna be doin some motor work at the carpet race ? ..... i have a 19T or 2 for you to freshen up :D Do bears crap in the woods?     xpss 05-16-2003, 08:41 AM i got a brand new diamond tip ready to go...bring it on!!!jarc i probally wont be there tonight but will be there bright and early tomorrow morning.........and yes a bear does crap in the woods when hes gotta go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bear vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
