Anyone want to postpone the start of the points until the following week? I will be in the doghouse BIGTIME if I don't take her out to dinner. now, Can i fit a dinner inbetween the 2nd Qualifier and the A-Main?

Might not be a bad idea! Since the end of the last series,we've missed 2 weeks of "between series" racing (cold weather,Snowbirds). It'll give more time to get the cars straight for the next series.

I read an articule in the paper last week, and they were talking about how the local racing venues don't start their series until the end of speedweeks,.....so your idea of starting after the Snowbirds is a far-sighted one,.....should be warmer weather too! This gives me another week to get my hands on a cheap chassis for spec racing!

Joespec-
I kinda wonder how many people would show up & race on Valentine's Day? Which is the very same day that the next series starts! Lots of racers are gonna end up in the doghouse that night!

If we are racing for points, I will be there. I promised my wife a big night out at the track and a romantic wing meal at the pit table {as long as we don't have to talk or anything}.LOL

Perhaps the best thing that could happen for all who might like to have a racing hobby,......and a love life too,.....would be for it to rain next friday night! Oh yeah, let's leave it up to Mother Nature to decide,.....another fickle woman at times! You hard-core guys crack me up:lol: "No rings,no strings" What you trying to say? I don't think that I'm pw,......( oh,.....okay dear,.....yes dear...) Just trying to keep the peace in my world, you know......don't want to be told about dragging her,on crutches,to the track anyway, spending $50 on parts, and $5 on chocolate,.....we have our priorities, you know:lol:

RACING FRIDAY NIGHT

So, does anyone know if Friday will be a points race??? BTW my motor is just not the same with these "R" brushes, are we allowed to cut/drill them??

I hope so, I think sloting them might help I'm experimenting right now.
Cycling 1600 right now and 1st pack at 20 amps 263 sec.s I think I will leave my gear ratio alone And my final 4 laps outa be quicker! Heck with new batteries we might even see a 8.1 sec lap. It's killing me that you got that 8.2 lap shannon! I'm looking forward to friday after breaking in every qualifier at the birds and be put in the "I" main. But did manage to take 2nd there oh well there's always next year.

METRO

Sorry to hear about your luck, but at least you can say you were there, and you have a good idea of what to expect next year.
I am seeing 1850-1900 Mah and avg. dis-charge @6.30. I will probably leave the gears alone also.

I was also suprised about discharge voltage. I talked to some other guys the might try out spec class with us. I am also going to try my ADX out there this series. I will run the entire series in spec but will use 19t to test and perfect car!
See ya Friday

if they go to that at the "Birds",will they have to further limit total driver sign ups? There were alot of turn aways this year, which is not a bad thing, but I'm sure that time is always a factor, especially during an event of this caliber.

That's excellent! I think that this Spec series could be the best one yet! I'm with you as far as running Spec only in this series & pulling out the 4-cell,19-turn just for practice/testing until the Summer! It would be almost impossible (AKA:Pain in the ___!) to work on 2 cars and concentrate on the Spec series. BTW,who else did you say was interested in running Spec??

Was hoping to get them before Friday. Friday is the beginning of the pts series. I would like to run the pack a little beforehand. Any chance we can meet up? Please give me a call at 234-2787 at any time. Leave me a message if I'm not there. I am also willing to go to the track tonight if anyone wants too. I went Monday night and tried out various gearing combos. I felt pretty good with a 37 and 118. Not sure what really works without transponders.

I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THIS NEXT SERIES. It will be really cool if more people start coming. We are guaranteed an Amain entry currently. The qualifiers would heat up quite a bit with two Mains.

See you all lata! Gotta go and paint my new body.

Would anyone else want to see a website setup for this next point series. I'm getting obsessed enough with this now that it may warrant me constructing one. It wouldn't be too fancy at first. But we could add stuff to it over time. Points standings, race results, pictures, video clips, etc. What do you guys think?

A website would be cool,if you had the time to create one! Sounds like you got too much time on your hands. Also sounds like there are quite a few people who are jonesing to race spec, and that's a good thing to see! I'm trying to get ahold of one myself,'cause I can't just let you run away with a track record.

Outlaw spec night the other day really really scared me guys. You all came out and were blowing me away with speed. I came out and practiced two times this week thinking Points would begin Valentines day. At first my car was all messed up with the increase in speed. But coming out a couple times during the week and practicing really helped.
I used tonight a brand new spec motor, only raced two nights. 118 Spur Gear, and 36 and 37 pinion with brand new spec tires. Man do these new packs fly!!! I'm glad to see all of you guys out there tonight. Lets kick some butt together this points series.

Good racing tonight guys.

Shawn-
Killer website! Good job! On the rules page, you should add the following:
The use of fiberglass or graphite rear axles will be permitted in the event that the steel axles are unavailable. (Hobby shop out-of-stock, driver doesn't have/out of a spare steel axle, etc)

Also,should have this one,too!:
The use of wings (single or dual element) will be permitted and is up to the individual driver to decide whether to use one on their car.

Yes,the speeds are a bit scary. Especially with the limited tuning capability that these cars have! Kinda reminided me of 4-cell,19 turn! There are a few more people getting interested in this class. Maybe we'll get back to the 15-18 car entries & 2 heats like we had a couple of years ago!

John couldn't give me the results on Disk, so I did the next best thing. Analog it!! Scanned it and put it on the results page! HOBBY WORLD has entered the year 1996 or so : ) I would say next millenium, but that would be them doing it themselves : )

I don't want to sound cocky at all, but seriously guys, if you need any help with your cars I'm there for ya. I don't do anything abnormal. I don't have have the knowledge you guys have or time in this thing so my help is limited. But If you need to look at my car for ideas please do. I try to learn something from every driver out there. Jason has helped me big time and so has Tom. All of you guys have been really helpful and I have you all to thank as well! Now, lets see if I can get a First place plaque instead of this Second one sitting in my lap. I can't wait till points racing starts.

Tell me about Tuffy's. I would like to stop in Sunday to check it out. Thanks

We need to vote on it next Friday. I talked to Jay, and we think it might scare new people from getting into it. What do you guys think? I want to change my vote to waiting until next points series. Let digest our recent changes and let everyone catch up before we do the wing.
