Track idea, If ya have the available dirt I would like to see the back straightaway raised up about a foot or so higher than what it is now, was awful hard to tell exactly where you were back there. Other than that I liked the track like it was.

A double double that could be trippeled would be cool. Raisin the back straight would be cool also, but a lot of dirt would be needed to do that.
The double double would only be some thing elese for me to hit the top of nose first.
I only asked the question about a track maintenance day, so I could help out and contribute some labor for the benefit of nmrcc, and help to make sure that it continues to be the best place in Northern Michigan to race.

Good ideas, keep them coming. Randy and I need to talk and get together to find out when we could have a meeting and talk over a few things about this season. Until then feel free to throw out some ideas we'll take them all into consideration. I think right now, aside from some mild track changes, the only other thing that is in the works is building a permanent announcers booth with windows a lounge chair and air conditioning and maybe a kegerator (for after racing of coarse). That should pretty much deplete our working capital right there.

OK you asked for it.......LOL
get rid of those roller thingies in front of the drivers stand and put in some sort of a jumping Rythym section, I know the roller thingies were put there to slow the truggies down a little bit but I think some bigger (not huge) jumps that you have to time would be cool

jbod
03-25-2011, 07:32 PM
What size announcers booth are you talking about?
If you talking about something like a shed, home depot and lowes have great deals on packages.

i agree, a nice big tripple or double double would go nice there. also need to fill in the low spots to prevent standing water. also need to add a jump after the big one so we have a landing and not slamming down ater hitting the big jump

Wigman, we had talked about that, the problem is keeping people safe in the front straight, a lot of people watch from behind the fueling stand, jumps too big could be dangerous, we had talked about putting a double double on the back straight and smoothing front straight and adding a small double at the end of the front straight to slow you down for the corner. It would be a pretty long flat straight away with a lot of top speed then you would have to slow down for the double then make a 90deg right turn. Would that be too technical?

If ya put a double at the end you better put a big catch fence up for the crazzies that dont get the whole let off the gas factor......LOL
I wasn't talking huge jumps maybe four 2 footers spaced so the 1/10 scales can do a double double and the 1/8 have to slow up for the double double or risk crashing trying for a triple single or a quad. I don't know........... the double at the end would be good too. we will get some good crash video off of it from slipstream i'll bet

Like I said there are a lot of great ideas out there, we'll just have to see how it pans out, I know that Randy did'nt want to do a complete track rebuild this year. More than likely any changes that we do this year will be minor and try and keep the flow of the current track design and just enhance it a little.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.........??????????

my two cents . i really think the track could use more elevation changes . like on corners and such . if you do that it will also help keep the track dryer for those rainy times .

Yes this is my fault. Plus with the weather not in the mid zeroooos. I am teaching a lot of Practical Evolutions for this years Fire Fighter students. Meaning we can be outside. From now till June 1. Is a Extremely busy time for me. Like Today for instince, just got home from Boyne Mtn. They had Snow Drags up the hill. I am not an Artic Cat Man, But HOLY S*(T. There was 2 1000cc Turbo sleds there that dyno'd @ 550 HP. WOW HOLY IMPRESSIVE...

probably price performance sleds, hes the top dog builder in michigan.

those are 2 cylinder fourstrokes too.

i rode a 325hp one last yr. just had a efi remapping controller, changed the blow off valve and inject windshield wiper solvent in the the intake-- 325hp.

i had to install ARP head studs, it kept stretching the stock head bolts and blowing head gaskets.

GNS, Yes they were injecting wiper solvent, but they were doing it to keep the turbo's cool.
That name sounds familier also...

Guys I have a video camera, might need to be plugged in as the battery don't last long.
It's older and uses the VHS style mini tapes that go in a full size tape that go in the VHS player, but has audio and video out puts to plug in a computer.
