General Rules
Anyone walking on the track or in pit lane is required to wear closed toed shoes at all time.
No racing without a body on the vehicle will be permitted. If a body comes undone during a race, a pitstop is required to fix the situation before continuing to race. If no body can be mounted during the pitstop, the car can no longer continue in the current race.
Restarts after a flame-out need to be done in pit lane and the car can re-join the race from pit lane. Not complying with this will result in a stop-and-go penalty issued by the race director.
A drivers meeting prior to each event is mandatory. Rules, procedures and race formats will be discussed during this meeting. A one lap penalty may be assessed against any driver who does not attend the meeting.
Registered drivers are the only ones allowed to compete under that name. Drivers may not have another driver "stand in" for them for any reason. Penalty is immediate disqualification.
All drivers are responsible for the actions of their pit crew.
Spectator safety is a major concern and must be considered when designing a track layout. Ample space to stop a car must be provided between the track area and the spectator areas and any area accessible to spectators, drivers, officials or pit crews. Track barriers must be securely fastened so that contact by a car or individual will not cause them to fall. Track barriers must be in good working condition and have no sharp or abrupt edges. Nothing may be placed on a high speed portion of a track or at the end of a high speed straightaway which may cause a car to launch off the track or fly into an area and cause injury to a spectator.
It is the race director's responsibility to insure that everyone, including spectators, are in the proper places and not in danger at any time.
Disqualification may be for a single class, the entire event or the entire racing season, depending on the level of deviation from the rules.
Any driver who is disqualified is required to leave the racing facility. There will be no refund of entry fees to a disqualified racer.
Any of the following actions by a driver or his pit crew will result in disqualification from the event:
Using non-authorized FCC frequencies.
Not reporting to the inspection area when asked to do so.
Operating a car anywhere that endangers others or while a race is going on.
Drinking alcoholic beverages, use of illegal substances or showing evidence of being under the influence of an illegal substance in the race or pit area.
Taking part in a protest demonstration at any time anywhere on the racing premises.
Entering scoring areas or restricted areas without permission.
Assaulting another individual.
Turning on a radio during a race with the purpose of harming another driver's race.
The following may result in disqualification if the race director so sees fit:
Using any parts that do not comply with the rules.
Using improper language or actions with a race director.
Using a non-assigned frequency.
Allowing individuals to substitute for you in a race.
Ignoring a black flag.
Rough driving or intentional hacking.
Race officials must witness the infraction and bring it to the attention of the driver before a penalty can be assessed. Track infractions may or may not be announced during the race.
Any driver who has been disqualified or penalized can protest the decision of the race director to one of the Michigan State Championship Series organizers at the event.
If a driver is being protested and does not make his car available for inspection, he will be automatically disqualified.
In qualifying, protests can only be made by a driver in the same class. In the main events, protests can only be made by a driver in the same main. Protests must be given to the race director within 30 minutes of after the end of the race being protested.
Unruly or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Individuals who cause any disturbance may be disqualified and removed by the race director if he/she so sees fit.
Race directors have the right to refuse any entry for valid reason.
Race director may inspect any car at any time if for any reason there is a hazardous situation suspected.
Scoring will only be done through the automated scoring system by use of transponders. Drivers are responsible for having a transponder in their car. Only a few tracks have house transponders, so it is strongly encouraged to have a personal transponder in the vehicle. No manual counting will be done in any event.
Racers are responsible for turn-marshalling the following race. If a racer races in the following race, or is physically not able to marshall for the next race, it is the racer's responsibility to find a substitute. It is strongly recommended to communicate the substitute with the race director to prevent penalties.
Inspections will be done at random and after protests. Inspections are mandatory when called.
Electric Classes
Use of reverse is not permitted during a race. It is recommended to disable the reverse function during racing to prevent from accidental usage
Short Course Classes
Only the usage of the scale specific tires is allowed. This means that 1/8th scale tires and/or wheels is not allowed
Running without a correct functioning exhaust is not allowed. If the race director finds a car that makes excessive noise, this car will be required to come into pitlane to get the problem fixed. If the excessive loud noise can not be fixed, the car is not allowed to continue the race.
