Yes, I need to do the same thing, the body that came with my Buggy is solid black, won't be able to see that on the back straight with dim lighting....

Well, I went there got all my stuff set up and ready, then I looked at the ridiculous, bucket of $hit track set up that Adam had going on, and packed all my stuff back up and left! I don't know WTF he was thinking, but I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be a off road layout, not a dumb-a$$ layout!

Its not so bad for me, I only live 10 minutes away, except for the fact that I'm way to busy all the time, and I want to race offroad! But for the guys that have to drive an hour or two to get there, what a joke!!!

How can you have a offroad track without any jumps? I'll tell you how, you take 5 minutes after an oval race, relocate a couple plastic pipes, throw 50 steel bumps all over the place, and TaDa, you have an dumba$$ offroad track!

Yeah, pretty vocal! We were all standing there looking at it in disbelief, and I said "who the #*ck designed this piece of $hit" and Adam, standing right behind me said "I did" I ask him WTF, went and put my stuff away and left! I'm just sick of this crap, every week the track get a little less fun, and alot more "lazily" built!

Two sets of two rollers, that's it, no jumps at all! That is how he set it up! Frank, Scott, spicy Matt, and Mike Roe, were going out to build a real track when I was leaving, but I really don't think for the amount of money we all spend to race there, that it should be left in the hands of the racers to setup the track! I don't know, maybe Im just being difficult!

I'm just extremely irritated, and I realize I tend to go a bit overboard in, and on everything that I do, and I probably shouldn't have left today. I should have stayed and helped build a track, and then raced. But it's not my responsibility!!! So instead, I'm going to be pi$$ed off all week about it, and ponder wether or not to sell all my indoor $hit and just race outdoors and downstate.

I always have fun when I'm racing, but it's just hard for me to accept carpet racing, just too much like road racing especially if there are no big jumps. I agree, that off-road racing, means jumps and alot of them and big too!

The thing is, I stopped in on Monday, pulled Adam aside and told him, the ridiculous pace he ran last weeks race in, was not right. And that I do this to have fun, but in order to make it worth justifying the time to do it, I have to race 2-3 classes. And being pushed through the racing, and all but shoved out the door as soon as the last main was finished, to me, wasn't much fun! So to go there today, excited about racing, and have a hemmorhoid of a track set up, really burned my a$$!

JJohnston
01-09-2011, 02:18 PM
So Brad what classes are you running at AMS ?

Revo-lution
01-09-2011, 02:29 PM
1/8 Truggy and 1/8 buggy for sure, probably 1/10 stadium truck, and maybe 2wd or 4wd short course. It depends on if I have the time to build my 4wd slash or not, and what the motor requirements for 1/10 scale stuff is. I have a velineon system for the 4wd, but for the 2wd slash and my t4.1 all I have are 17.5 motors.

I have not done much racing lately. None this month and not really much since the PVG Northern Nats..
Took the month off of racing to save and gear up for the Big K. been racing in GR mostly.

Classes they run stock and mod in all classes. So the VXL system us fine in mod. I will dig up the flyer again

Mod S.C
1/8 E buggy
2wd buggy (Mod or 17.5 not sure)
Maybe Mod Stadium Truck... If I push my luck. I am thinking 3 is enough :)

The 3 qualifying rounds will be all day. With 3 classes you will still have plenty of time. Last year I did 2 and I was bored...

Yep, I'm back, spend all afternoon working on the rc stuff, I've been having problems with my controller or so I've found out I've been having trouble with my controller, it has a dead spot in the rheostat, so it doesn't always find neutral. It's been giving me fits since the end of summer, finally figured it out and confirmed it with GNS, he had the same problem last year, exactly what happened to me. So guess what? YES, a new controller is in the mail, just before the big kahuna race, I'll have to get used to and learn all about my new Futaba 3PK. Hopefully GNS will give me a hand learning some things about it.

We where all board, I ran two classes and it was 3 1/2 hours between rounds. At one point I tore the rear diff out of the slash and re-packed it with grease, just for something to do, oh yea, and rebuilt all of my shocks in the stadium truck. Three classes will help fill the void I'm guessing.

Sorry GNS, I finally made a choice for the mod slash, I went with the 6.5 550 sc Fantom motor. I can't wait to get that thing mounted and see what kind of sick power that puts out........So many new toys and so few races to go to, can't hardly wait for the BIG K race.
