Save me pit space with the cool guys.

Doug, I'm going to talk to Doug when I'm there and see if I can save pit spaces when we are there friday, yours will be designated by your 9000t servo setting there  That way we can all talk trash without yelling it across the room

I better get to work, my truck is still in a million pieces spread out across the house. Thats how serious I am about racing

Rodney, don't you worry about my excuses, you have enough worrys that a rubber band is driving your front tires. Being that it's an indoor race, I'm sponsoring Brandon Marsh's 4x4 sct to insure you don't win and it's a drop for you too  I think there will be a few more guys there to bump you back to a 5th or 6th or 10th, hopefully I'm one of them

i cant sleep! how is the layout? fun, good flow?

RodneyB
05-20-2011, 11:18 PM
It has some interesting features. A pretty good track once you get used to it. I wouldn't describe it as flowing as there are really no fast sections. It'll be fun to race on.

I'd chime in too, but his performance was so sad....it would be like heckling at the special olympics  Well, all except the kids at the special olympics generally don't quit before the race is over

All I want to know is how the ride home went for him and Brandon

I'm pretty salty about my motor going south in 4x4......looked like I was headed for a podium finish for sure after leading for several laps :(

What motor did you have that went south???

What motor did you have that went south???

I delaminated a Novak, and a Tenshock. Neither motor got overly hot. I reglued the Tenshock and used that for the last 2 qualifiers and the main as it's the better motor, but I hit an upside down Steve Weber in the main and think that knocked it loose again as it acted up for a couple laps then came completely loose. To be fair, the sleeve retainer is supposed to dry for 24 hours...and was only given maybe 4 hours. I will rough up the shaft and reglue, should be fine in the future.

Disappointing because it was looking like Marsh, Web and myself was going to have an epic battle for the win.

Don't worry we are going to have plenty of other races this summer. I think I'm hooked on this 4x4 thing:thumbsup:

LOL, I told ya it was a blast  That AE 4x4 is pretty sweet...Louie and I stopped by newark on our way home and ran a pack through it and our 2wd's.....I was pretty impressed. I hope my Losi works as good as it did

The 2wd sct's worked pretty sweet too, I was pretty surprised after everyone telling me they handle so much worse outside. I could get on mine as hard outdoors as I could at the indoor tracks...in fact, it might have been even more dialed  Or, perhaps I just really suck at indoor racing

Yeah yeah yeah, I want to try to show for some 2wd. Any one else? Really? Bigger badder jumps? I guess you'll be allowing eighth soon. Good grief. I always liked going to EN hobbies because it is a tenth track. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

blackdragon

Tenth scale only tracks are not viable in the summer months Rudy, you should realize that by now. When you have bills to pay all year, you do what you have to do to keep the doors open. Exactly how many times did you travel to EN this summer to help them pay to keep the lights on?

I can't wait to see what Doug has in store for the racers with the new dirt coming in  99% of the racers will appreciate a little more airtime, better transitions, a few more obstacles, and adding e-scale will attract more out of towners that don't want to travel for one class  With the summer season coming to a close, I hope to be able to stop in soon.

I think smoother and more flowing jumps would be more what Im after, and downsides that can be hit by the variety of vehicles we run.

I will be segregating practice, so 1/10th scale drivers won't have to worry about scalers landing on them lol..

I just don't believe its good practice to send racers away, when they are asking to run.. we'll still be building tracks that are suitable for 1/10th scales, ideally I would like a stock slash to be able to clear or roll everything, and still offer a fun track for the more powerful vehicles.

We've added a couple loads of dirt recently, and will try to get more in when we are getting dirt for the oval, we have also talked alot about making the track 12' deeper (we cant make it wider) to allow for a 6 lane layout.. we'll see.

Track is 85% done, added an additonal 2 truckloads of dirt as well, words cant describe the masterpiece that doug came up with. No one will be disapointed thats for sure. Finnishing up some fine tuning tomorrow and it will be ready by friday. Also for those of you who have been asking about the dirt oval well the dirt gods have answered and dropped off 5 truck loads of dirt yesterday and we moved it from outside to inside today. I dont know exactly when it will be ready but work is underway on it.

off road attendance is starting to climb as the temperatures drop.. come check us out if you havent been to en, or if you havent been to en recently.

We have added a dirt oval for those interested, there is a thread about it in the dirt oval track discussuion forum.

The track is fun and racey, and a little technical.. next track change is planned for the week before the Toys for Tots benefit, Nov 26th for the off road racers.. 27th for dirt oval.. pre registration is not required, and the flyer and more details will be released as soon as I get everything finalized.

We have been getting a good amount of mod buggy and SCT racers, but we offer the full range of classes (5 entries to make a class) and are bringing e-scales in this year. Don't worry though, we'll be segregating practice as needed to ensure everyone has some quality time on the track before racing starts.

Hi guys and gals. I am looking to get in on some dirt action this year and am a total newb to racing, but not new to rc. I am looking to get into a class where I can run Sat. Or Sun. I want to run in a class that's not too full, but competetive. Maybe2WD buggy? I don't have a vehicle, so need any links to kits, electronics and any rles/battery info available. PM or post here would be great. Cheers.
