crashmaster 11-16-2010, 11:30 PM Some practice tips:
--do laps around the track after the racing blipping the throttle the entire time. It will get you used to how and where your vehicle can accept increases throttle and where it benefits to brake.
--Do laps at half throttle staying within one foot of the inside tube. Very tough to do laps at half throttle.
on the 31 i ran my rt5 half throttle in the main lol
Dancer 11-17-2010, 08:27 AM is it time to go to the track yet?
is it time to go to the track yet?
Yes lets pack up and head down there now.
crashmaster 11-17-2010, 10:02 AM sound good to me lol
brocbehrendt 11-17-2010, 11:17 AM I'm in. Lenman says I'm runnin mod sc tonite, but honestly I'd like to put that thing in the closet till crcrc and concentrate on mod buggy or mod truck. We'll see about tonite. My sc took more hits last saturday than snoop dog took off his bong that nite.
Start making your plans for tonight. Rain, crap weather, cold, such a nice fall day. What better way to spend it than racing at Proving Grounds. Lord knows your not going to be out doing yard work, so come inside where its warm with us and lets burn some rubber for heat.
Kerby 11-17-2010, 02:28 PM Looks like I get to make it out, very rare on a Wednesday, buggy and Mod SC are ready to go.
Awesome, enjoy your break Kerby see you tonight.
Kerby 11-17-2010, 10:28 PM I know how to break stuff
Uncle E 11-18-2010, 09:04 AM You guys are killing me! I couldn't make it last night and no updates on HT! Who can smack down who? Who hacked who?
Anyone break a chasis?
Uncle E 11-18-2010, 09:05 AM How was traction?
Kerby was Captain Destructo! Although Broc had his share of issues to. There was a pretty large group of new kids out last night also. But other than that, it was 5 full heats of close fast racing. No hacks, no cry babies, no bad attitudes. Traction was sick.
driptip 11-18-2010, 10:49 AM hey if anyone needs a b4.1 body i have one painted and ready. proline crowdpleaser 2.0 shell, 1 painted wing and one clear 45.00

Yeah I pretty much detroyed the buggy, won't have it ready till next Sat. The SC was great till I decided to tighten the slipper for the main...........bad idea. Even with all the problems and broken parts I had a great time, great group of racers last night.
Uncle E 11-18-2010, 05:04 PM Can't wait until Saturday
ezracer18 11-18-2010, 05:57 PM last night was great racing at Proving Grounds.
Uncle E update: one broken chassis, a T3 prehistoric mod truck. Kearns broke the buggy twice, and that was about it.
Traction was great, we had a great time.
Dancer took a whippin and keep on ticking.
We will see next wednesday how that Blitz runs when he comes back..
Other then that, we will be there Saturday, we are taking Friday night practice off for a school event for the kid.
p.s. Mudge said he smoked his motor in his 4x4.
Kerby 11-18-2010, 06:19 PM I'm pretty much down to SC only @ this time.
mudge 11-18-2010, 09:46 PM Burned up a bearing in the 4.5 Cheap fix but didnt make for a very good night. I hope to be back soon.
Slashdrivr 11-18-2010, 10:14 PM What time does the festivities start Sat?
Dancer 11-18-2010, 10:23 PM Just traded one of the blitz's I got from E during the MORL for a b4 with a ball diff. Just found out that my Mamba Max is still working. Now I just need a reciever (or run it with a crappy radio) and a senorless motor. Have a 19t brushed I could use but lets get serious.
Does anyone have a senorless Motor they want to get rid of? Would like to run my buggy next wednesday.
Dancer 11-18-2010, 10:31 PM How was traction?
The track was very wet when we got there. Made things tough because they were very different than Sat. By the end of the night though traction was great.
Uncle E 11-18-2010, 10:40 PM 5pm generally guys there by 3
Slashdrivr 11-18-2010, 10:47 PM Sounds good I'll be there to be fodder in the buggy class
Dancer 11-18-2010, 10:59 PM love to see all the buggies. I have wanted a buggy since before I started racing. Now I have one and can't wait to get it out.

Dancer 11-19-2010, 12:10 AM I've tried that but it just coggs badly. Tomorrow I am going to try my ion 2

Thanks for the effort E. Guess I'll have to move to NC,GA or SoCal where guys still race nitro. Damn shame..
Kerby 11-20-2010, 09:19 AM Are you guys going to do some track changes before to Nat. race?? If not I better call Kyosho and have them send me 1 of each part made...................:) I'm having a heck time lately.:(

Its slowly dying in those areas too. One of our new guys just moved from out West, he was running the JBRL series in Cali. Even he says nitro out West is slowly going away. Granted its a whole lot more than there is here, but he said over the last couple years its down about 50%.
2fst2c 11-20-2010, 10:15 AM I'm sure they can get at least 10 guys and it's warm there too! I've got both so it don't really matter much.

You need to get out soon and put some laps down. Don't let the holidays or cool weather keep you away. Its a fricken blast on Wednesday nights, and I know Saturdays are always a great time too.
bbrace3m 11-20-2010, 11:45 AM from reading the schedule, will the track layout that is built now be the same one we will be running on for the northern nationals?

Holiday's mean nothing to me really and cool weather isn't an issue. I'll be there soon. Signed up for the Nats/Cavalieri race. Got a new 1/10 buggy coming, (Losi XXXCR for sale) ,need to get a new BEC for my 4x4SC but will be ready soon. I'll be out Saturday AM for practice. Maybe my stuff will be here before Weds.

Same layout, no time to change. Dude run some laps with me, I'll explain where to do what when. Which part of the track are you having trouble?
Uncle E 11-20-2010, 02:02 PM You'll see cav stop in and be up to pace in about a blink of the eye. So you want to begin dialing in quicker and quicker with each new layout.
Uncle E 11-20-2010, 02:21 PM 1/10th kyosho wheel nuts what size are those? 7mm?
Kerby 11-20-2010, 02:41 PM Pretty much the triple has caused the most problem for me, I can double single but to compete I need to consistantly triple. I would like some pointers/advise, see ya Wednesday.
Kerby 11-20-2010, 02:43 PM 1/10th kyosho wheel nuts what size are those? 7mm?
I know its the same as the slash, 4mm threads uses 7mm nut driver

9/32 works wonders
Uncle E 11-20-2010, 08:55 PM Dude I'm doing wips like crazy on the triple D's SCR has a parashoot for a body! It can land sideways?
Dancer 11-20-2010, 09:26 PM No problem on the triple here. I for me I learned that if I just hit the brakes right after I leave the ramp the nose comes down and lands the back side. That's with a stock sc though.
Just put the buggy together tried it outside. Thing is fast. Have to get used to that. Wife tried it and hit the curb. Goodbye front bulkhead. Have to go to the lhs tomorrow.
Revo do you have a good set up for the b4 that I can have? Thanks
