Uncle E 11-15-2010, 07:24 PM Was it wrong to roll around naked on the tracks black grove today?
Uncle E 11-15-2010, 07:25 PM Wonder if slicks would have worked?
Dancer 11-15-2010, 07:58 PM What do you SC guys think of this trick? is it worth it?

bigmike22 11-15-2010, 08:21 PM Thats funny right there. Yeah that's what happens when you run a 17.5 in Mod Mike unless your K Muson or Mr. Sizzle my Novak
I still had more than enough power to run mod indoors, nobody out motored me down the straights. And it was plenty quick. I was a little rusty but hopefully the cobwebbs will come off soon! LOL

Not as long as you didn't take up any of the black groove with your back groove.
munsonator08 11-15-2010, 09:23 PM I ran suburbs on the rear and barcodes on the front of my sc and it was dialed (like Kyles bacon)
Hahaha!!! that will never get old. If your tires are comparable to the pancakes...weeeee could be in trouble.
Thats funny right there. but seriously, that was the best bacon I have ever had. it was perfect. pancakes were good, but not dialed. the bacon - was dialed.
anyways, suburbs is what I ran on the rear they were good, but they were worn down by the end of the night. I ran the green (soft) enduros on the front. I may switch to orange (super soft) up front to get some more steering out of it. My truck was plowing so bad in the 3rd round, it felt like I was going to push into the parking lot. I chose my tire selection by driving mike cooks truck. I didnt have any laps on my SC truck aside from wednesday, and I didnt know what was going to work. So Mike, thanks for letting me take your truck for some laps.

I had the same problems with the suburbs. I have 2 pair of mx and mc suburbs coming cant wait to try them! And Kyle you can run it anytime you want. Usually you give me some great pointers on set up and it usually always works wonders!

Kyle you have to try your megabites upfront. I had them up there all day sat and they didn't push one bit. I turned and they went. Best tires I've ever had up front. Even after switching to the trailing steering blocks I was still able to dive into corners and blast out of them
Got tired of the nitro talk cluttering up the magical friendly feeling that only electric RC can provide. All nitro talk can go to the Nitro Zone instead of here. This is now a NITRO FREE ZONE. Peace out.

I have run the megabites all around, and they are good. but im trying to avoid having too much steering. so many tire options. hopefully 2wd buggy wont be as bad.
as far as running MC compound tires - from what I have seen, they seem to only work on clay tracks, such as AMS or CRCRC or Joliet. I ran my MC suburbs from AMS at PG and the truck was all over the place compared to the M3 compound. same thing with Losi pink compound - they are hit and miss. When all else fails, go to the J concepts tires - they make the best tires in my opinion.
I will make a flow chart that will explain this better. LOL.

Use plenty of graphs and illustrations, they are purdy.
Dancer 11-15-2010, 10:52 PM like I asked you sat. Kyle -when are you going to hold your own seminar? would go a long way toward paying for that buggy.
During the morl I ran my bowties and I had pretty good steering but not excessive. Worth a try. If you don't have any I'll have some wednesday you can try.

munsonator08 11-15-2010, 11:08 PM By the way, this literally took me all of 5 minutes to build. but it is funny, and sad but true.

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/munsonator008/SetupFlowchart.jpgso very true
Dancer 11-15-2010, 11:15 PM well that makes me feel better... not
Truck handles crappy,,,,"Kyle can you help?"
think truck handles okay..."Kyle will you drive this and tell me if its crappy or is it just my driving?"
now I know that when your out of options your stand by ....."well all you can do is try it." is code for "Consult Boatman."
lol
munsonator08 11-15-2010, 11:24 PM typically consulting boatman is the best option, but I try to figure it out my self first. He is the one who has taught me everything I know. and that comes from years of experience.
Dancer 11-15-2010, 11:30 PM if I was driving a buggy I would consult boatman---though I think I annoy him.
Consulting a guy who just turned 20 fricken laps at State in SC sounds like a good guy to take advice from
munsonator08 11-15-2010, 11:38 PM anytime man, I'm always willing to help out. even if I cant figure it out I will try to do what I can.
munsonator08 11-15-2010, 11:39 PM That flow chart is more of a joke than being serious by the way guys. just figured I would point that out so nothing gets out of hand.
crashmaster 11-15-2010, 11:46 PM but kyle it is very true what happens

Its ok Kyle i think many of us have the same Flow chart but where you have Boatman you could just put insert name here. There are alot of Knowledgeable people at that track and lots of great advice there. Sometimes its like pulling teeth lol. 90% of the guys are great and very helpful!
driptip 11-16-2010, 11:05 AM when all else fails..... hey kyle drive this thing!!!!!
DChupp1 11-16-2010, 11:29 AM Can anyone help me with some tire selection recommendations for SC10? Planning to come up from South Bend on the 4th and get some practice for the 10th & 11th of Dec. Also, if anyone would care to share any set up info.
Thanks in advance,:)

 Hi again guys, still looking for some good setups for PG. I guess I should mention I'm running stock class FT SC10, 17.5 Ballistic, Tekin RS. So far I'm looking at Enduro soft & super soft (already have). Thinking of buying Barcodes (Gold) and MC Suburbs. Will be using beadlocks so switching things around won't be a problem. Any suggestions on shocks, gearing etc. greatly appreciated.
Again, thanks
Donn
P.S. Good info on tires, a couple of you guys helped confirm what I was already thinking.

Kerby 11-16-2010, 11:49 AM 35wt front gold springs, 30wt rear with green springs (Losi oil) could use a softer spring up front but start out with gold till you get use to it

bigmike22 11-16-2010, 02:14 PM Red springs up front, gray in the rear, #3 piston up front with 7 spacers, #1 in the rear with 2 spacers. 30 wt oil all the way around.
Front shock, top all the way in. bottom Inside also. Rear top all the way in, bottom all the way out.
Also you will want to lower front body position to second from bottom. you may need to cut front of body just a little. If not you will sail alot on the bigger jumps.

Thanks bigmike.I like the tip on body position, alot of guys probably don't even think about parachute effect indoors .

This was a great starting point. The rest depends on your driving style.

Kerby 11-16-2010, 03:34 PM If you're new to SC Mike's set-up may be to aggressive, hence to gold springs. I'd never run 30 wt in the front. The heavier wt will allow the truck to push a little more and your ass end won't swing around when you turn to aggressively and will be more forgiving. I'm just saying

Normally i run 30front 25 rear or 37.5 front and 30 rear for outdoors. Thats the set up that came with the new ft sc10. I started there and really liked it. The only thing i really did was change shock position a little and it worked great. But like Scott said it all depends on ur driving style. I am pretty agressive and love a ton of steering.
brocbehrendt 11-16-2010, 04:28 PM On my sc10 I run 35wt in the front and 30 in the rear with v2 shocks. #2 pistons all around with blue springs front and green rear. Barcode blues work well, I personally prefer AKA wishbones, however they are not quite as good on this new track with all the circus jumps as they were on the last layout which was more flat and faster.

Thats a hell of flow chart..hahaha Seriuosly though I appreciate all the props on here from everyone and I am always available to help even if I seem to be in my own world.hahaa
Dancer 11-16-2010, 07:35 PM well the set up depends on what you are running. On my ese I just changed from the inline steering blocks to the trailing so I can punch out of the corners a lot more.

Dancer 11-16-2010, 10:24 PM Okay diff rebuilt. New steering rack on order. Wife complaining about my mess in the living room. Life is good. Now I can't wait till tomorrow. My goal is to turn 18 laps. Just as long as E doesn't put us Short Course guys in the Novice class with a 3 min main I think I'll be good.
Told Paul Padillia that I was going to keep practicing so that I can kick his butt. now he says that he is coming tomorrow too. LOL
Uncle E 11-16-2010, 10:38 PM Some practice tips:
--do laps around the track after the racing blipping the throttle the entire time. It will get you used to how and where your vehicle can accept increases throttle and where it benefits to brake.
--Do laps at half throttle staying within one foot of the inside tube. Very tough to do laps at half throttle.
