Don't let the weather keep you from coming out. There isn't anything happening or going to happen from the looks of it.

Pits are already filling up.

Check out the thread in the Dirt Oval section. Buggy would fall into the 2 wheel late model class. Throw a body on it and you are good to go. 13.5 motor limit.

Yes we will. Regular program starting at Noon.

Don't forget, this Sunday is the 3rd race in the Sunday point series.
7 races with 3 drops. 4th race is the 3rd weekend of January. The three races after that are the 2nd weekend of February, March and April.

Have the points figured. Will get them up here when I get to the store tonight.

Awesome turnout tonight John. Some tight racing in every class, nice to see. Bunch of new faces too

Has the new track layout been figured out yet? Maybe make a contest or something to see who can come up with the new layout?

Keeping the oval obviously, how big is the track again?

Yup, 60 entries makes for a great day of racing. 2 full heats of Novice, 4 full heats of Short Course (28 total), and heats of buggy, truck and 4wd.

Kind of have an idea for the track. Was looking at leaving the triple/off camber end as is. Instead of continuing down the front straight, cut into the infield after the triple, run the 180 around the berm (which isn't there any more after the work last night), eliminate/change the camel to eliminate the blind spot then back onto the front straight, around the sweeper and then cut into the triple (I know, just what we need, people carrying more speed into the triple, lol). That way we run half the oval, cut in, run the other half of the oval and cut back in. Minimal work involved and changes the layout completely. Looking to do the rebuild Sunday, January 16 after racing as I have Monday the 17th off of school and can work all day finishing things up.

We are open Tues, Wed and Thurs this week for practice. Tuesday night being oval practice. We will be closed Friday and Saturday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Regular off-road racing on Sunday, December 26.

The following week, we are open normal hours every day, including New Years Eve and New Years Day. Special New Years Eve Program and regular slot car racing in the morning and Oval racing in the afternoon on New Years Day, followed by our regular Sunday off-road Program on January 2.

We will have our New Years Eve event on December 31st. Doors will open at 5. Events will start at 7:00. This is not a regular race program. Team races and other unusual events will be the order of the evening. $10 per racer. Friends and family are free.

Please bring a dish to set out as we do a pot luck (like the Turkey Day Classic). Bottom line, good friends, good food and good racing. What better way to ring in the New Year.

Blaze have a safe trip and don't get mistaken as Goofy! Disney is a wonderful place.
~~ Oh just a suggestion, get those visa cards that you can pre-load with money. The vending machines in the park take them also and then you don't have to carry so much cash and regular credit cards. We did this with James when he went with the High School Marching Band and it worked real well.~~~

DBARB, just gotta know how to have fun. Oh, and have thick skin, cuz everyone likes to joke and have a good time. It's a fun place to run, and the people there are a blast as well. Some good racing happens in all the classes.

Well, except that angry Jim guy.....but, he just stays in his cave at the back of the place...lol.

Nope, because of the larger crowds (40 to 60 entries) we have gone to doors open at 10 and racing starts at Noon. Gets us done by 6.

The team races take up the better share of the evening. Usually run a couple of them and each one goes about an hour and a half. Beyond that it is whatever we want to come up with.

Always a heat of 4x4 on Fridays and Sundays. Ran a heat of mod sc with 5 in it this past Sunday for the first time. Looks like it may be a regular class.

So what are the chances I'll get to race my stock short course truck tomorrow?

100%. You have to understand this is not a heat and mains regular race program. It is a New Years Eve party. We won't know exactly what we are running and how until we see who is there with what. Best thing to do is just show up with whatever you have to run, something to toss on the potluck table and $10 for the entry fee and have FUN.
