Aside from the 1/8th track, is the 1/10th track going to be finished for this weekend also hopefully? (Any pics of the track on the other side that is friendly to us smaller electric cars?, ha ha) Just wondering in case, would love to see them thanks. :)

As of now the electric track is about 75% done of course the weather had to play a part in that. The nitro track will be used for Saturday racing at this time. The track does look fast for sure, no one has run a 1/8th scale on it yet.

Don't worry,the nitro track is 1/10th scale friendly. The stock slash can double-single the big triple in front of the drivers stand, And we had a mod 4wd slash clear the triple. There was even a mini-t with a mamba system get the double. Chuck and Chris think the electric guys might really like it. Chris was running his stock 4wd slash and really liked it.
The elect. track will be completed as soon as it is dry enough to get the equipment on it. So lets hope that the weather breaks so we can do some racing! :thumbsup: There are some pictures on the Oak Hill forum of the electric track after one weekend of work.

I really enjoy not having to run on the 8th track. I didn't make it up last year because it's a haul for me but, I think, this year, I might make it up a few times.

Are there any practice nights during the week????
I work up in Erie, so would be a quick jaunt off the interstate to run a few batteries thru and run the track.

Jar, could you rephrase your post again about preferring to running your electric on the 1/10th track, over the 1/8th track, is that what you meant? I understand the 1/8th track will start to get a bit rutted & broken up quickly from the gas but that is just how it is at all tracks I think, until the electric track is done, lol.

Aside from that, have the directors at Oakhill considered, if this is not already done to alternate practice between 1/8th gas/ oversized slash and electric cars?

Say for instance, electric practices for 15 mins, then gas & slash practices 15 mins, and so on until the track closes for the first qualifer. Easier to keep larger vehicles separate from smaller ones (i.e. breaking or punting them off the track, ha ha, and others)

Would be great to consider that at least to make for a smooth controlled practice program.

That is correct rc racer, it will be a controlled practice as you described. This year I was able to bring a 4 ton roller to pack these tracks and hoping that this will be the trick this year.as far as practice night, there is nothing planned for practice night yet.

Sounds great to me Ted! From what I see in the pics, the Nitro track looks great, love all those jumps and technical sections. I liked how you guys got that double roller up there to pack it all good. That is awesome.

Sunday is looking VERY GOOD with sunny weather & conditions. Two differerent website are showing right now, Saturday 90% & 70% T-storm/Rain respectively.

Well it doesn't matter to me either way really what day to come up, but just in case a suggestion is all to help the opening day go well for everyone far as racing goes.

Well mother nature didnt play nice yesterday by any means. This weekend is looking to be the opener.:thumbsup: I was just out at the track and it still looks like the day we built it. Im thinking that the roller really worked.:thumbsup:

Hi guys. I'm interested in running at your track a few times this year and I have a few questions that I can't seem to find answers to here or on the website forums, so here goes.

1. What time does racing start and what time does practice start? What time do you usually get finished on Saturdays?

2. Classes & rules: Other than the NCCS rules, I don't see anything listed. I have a Blitz so I'd be most interested in either stock or mod short course truck. There does not seem to be a difinitive answer on the NCCS rules being the weekly rules.

3. How is it looking for the electric track being ready?

4. Any suggestions on tire choice?

The tires I mostly use down there are Losi ifmar pins on the back and Proline edges on the front.

Talked to Chris and Chuck and there is a correction on the start times:

8:30 electric practice starts
9:00 nitro practice starts
10:00 regstration and tracks close
10:15 drivers meeting
10:30 racing starts

whats the best tire choice for 1/8th scale and 4wd 1/10th scale buggy on classics outdoor track?

For 1/8 th scale M3 calibers, all year last year!!!:thumbsup:

I ran Panther Komoto Dragon II tires on my 1/8th. Took home a few first places and a few King of the hill stickers.

Just wanted to say hey to all the Oak Hill guys!!!Zerbe, Chris, Teddy,Tom and can't forget Hoover. I am hoping to be out sometime in the near future. It's been pretty crazy with the new little guy at home, so daddy is going to need a race day pretty soon.:wave:
