I wont be able to make it to indy/ too tired from working on track. Stupid rain. I can still race the next day after it rains. unless its a hurricane. the track will drain well after all the dry days weve had.

Gee, I wonder why you are tired.

I have not raced on it yet this year, but every time I have been there so far, Steve has made improvements to the track. I can't wait to see it.

Those boys at INdy Slots do seem to get excited pretty easy. The new track layout will give them something to get excited about at PPR.

nutz4rc

Speaking of excited...plans for the first three way short course championship between LTR, PPR, and Summit at Fort Wayne are being worked out.

Three races, two days, probably three classes....wow what a blast. Stock short course, open short course, and 4 x 4 short course are likely classes. More details in the future.

Watch for more exciting news. Steve is working all the time.

Spring Zing downtown race in Muncie tomorrow has been cancelled. Any pre-registration fees will be returned.

Weather for Sunday's race is iffy at this time. If we don't have a huge downpour it may well be raceable tomorrow.

hey guys is the kyosho sc legal for the slash class it dont have the same motor it has a 20 turn and it dont have the white springs freddie wants to get one but i dont know if it will be legal

nutz4rc
04-24-2010, 04:34 PM
It should be, but it has to use the motor it comes with. If it is too fast, he may need to change to a less powerful motor. What motor is in it?

The Traxxas and Losi use their version of 550 12 turn motors. Associated SC comes with a 540 17 turn Radon (I think this is correct). The 550 12s aren't any faster than the 540 17 turn. Only problem with Kyosho may be parts availability.

bigfredzzz
04-24-2010, 06:04 PM
they call it a g20 ..20 turn

nutz4rc
04-24-2010, 07:26 PM
I would say to run it and see how fast it is. A 20 turn 540 motor would be a bit slower than the 17 turn that comes with the Associated SC 10. However there is a big difference in motors from different manufacturers. The worse case situation would be it is way too fast or way too slow and you need another motor. The 12 turn Losi and Traxxas Titan are around $22; I have not priced an Associated 17 Radon.

thanks but you were right about the parts i look for some body that sold parts and there a very few so i talk him in getting a losi..... daddy knows best lol

Yea, but it is a hard sell sometimes...LOL

Brad Boling

From what I have seen the Kyosho is a pretty sotut SC racer. They have had issues with leaky shocks, but they may have that issue resolved by now.

lol he ordered a hpi last night i guess daddy don't know best lol

nutz4rc
04-25-2010, 11:54 AM
HPI Blitz seems to do OK also. They all work and most of it depends on driver and set up.

The last two weeks the blitz has finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at Slots. The sc10 doesnt seem to be doing as well as it did on the carpet. The Slash seems to be pretty competitive. But those are the only three we've seen on the dirt so far. There is one guy with a kysho and he did really well on the carpet but he hasnt showed up to race it outside because of time restraints...

crackersmacker
04-25-2010, 02:04 PM
I will say that the blitz seems to be the dominant truck at Slots at the moment, but its safe to say the verdict is still out until we see a few more of the other trucks on the track...

nutz4rc
04-25-2010, 04:12 PM
It will be an interesting short course summer. More trucks are coming out all the time. Who knows which will be best on what surface.

A little too wet to run today. Track will be open Saturday and Sunday. If you want to check it out or even run some during the week, call Steve (Race Director) and see if it is OK. His number is on the website: pierceparkraceway.com

hey guys i just got my first li-po and got a question ...on the side of my chargers it has a few plugs that are for the balancing plug and the charger came with a tp-fp adapter that it says to plug in to the charger and then plug your battery balance plug it to it can i just plug the battery's balance plug in to the charger it has a plug for a 2s battery

nutz4rc
04-25-2010, 08:51 PM
What type of charger and batt?

Without seeing it, it is difficult but if I understood you correctly; here is what I think.

You can plug the balance plug of the battery into a plug that matches as long as the wires are color coded the same way. Most balance chargers can balance when you are charging or can balance when you are not charging. If you charge and balance at the same time, it will slow down the process.

I will normally balance a batt after a it has been raced for a day but not charge it. Then I will charge it without the balancer the day before a race or the morning of the race.

Everyone will give you a different answer but I have never had any out of balance batts and have used this method for all of them.

nutz4rc

This years Bash will be even more fun with more entries and three instead of two tracks.

The Losantville race (my previous hometown) will also be fun with trophies as well. Losantville is straight across highway 36 from INdy.

I sponsor the Losantville race and pay for the trophies, and I haven't had time to finalize all the details yet. I have been a bit busy working with some other projects like the dirt track at LTR and this other place called PPR (LOL). I expect that we will have the most popular classes from the other tracks. That would be Short course (stock, Open, 4 x 4) and buggy.

I gotta dig deep to fund trophies for four classes. There will probably be participant ribbons for everyone as well.

I will heading down to the location to check out track layout. We have a huge amount of space to work with.

I know I can count on you.

I think everyone will have a good time. There are food booths, vendors, always a big dinner in the Fire Station (we will be racing behind the station-can you say close to the food), a parade, typical small town America.

I am waiting on a list of when the events occur so I can set up the timing of the race. I know I will need help setting up the course. Thanks for the offer. I appreciate it.

Weather forecast for this weekend isn't looking good. Hopefully they will miss it for at least Sunday. Already missed last week. However we did get an earlier start than many of the tracks.

Water seal should scare the rain away. I am looking for a fair sky and some fun racing.......

Be great if some of the nitros showed up Saturday.

i got to work but ill be there next sad if any show ....would it be all right to bring it to the sunday race i would like to see how it runs it was a play truck and i bought all the stuff to make it a race truck it has never see a track

nutz4rc
04-28-2010, 08:35 PM
I don't think Steve will mind. He might keep the electrics off the track and let you run some laps. This would prevent damage to electrics since nitros are much heavier than electrics.

What do you say Steve?

Brad Boling
04-28-2010, 08:44 PM
I'm ready to do some stock slash racing. Hopefully the weather will hold up, and I'll get over this cold.

nutz4rc
04-28-2010, 09:04 PM
I don't know how many people I know who have colds. Must be some pretty tough bugs going around out there.

Hope you make it out and the rain goes somewhere else.

kick mud
04-28-2010, 09:23 PM
That would be fine Fred. I'll pull the electrics off and give you some time to set it it up. They won't mind. They'll even marshal for you if you need it.

Hope you get over your cold Brad.

Stupid rain.

nutz4rc
04-29-2010, 09:52 AM
I ain't marshalling for old Fred and his nitro......

Just kidding. Some of the guys would enjoy seeing a nitro run some laps, bring it on Fred.
