View Full Version : Granger Offroad RC Raceway (Granger, IN)
ToddFalkowski 09-23-2011, 09:27 AM Hey guys- thanks for the kind words! And Conde: Harry Caray? Dunno that I can pull that one off!
DO wanna say "THANKS" to everyone for coming out. Was fun to get back behind the mic again...
With offroad season about over (don't forget the NIRCSS finals at Stateline!!!) hopefully we'll see you guys on a rug this winter (Michiana RC or Pete Russell's, hint-hint)
carplace 09-23-2011, 09:55 AM Set your DVR's, we're finally going to be on the news! Hopefully the spot will give RC racing in the area a positive boost.
Hi Michael,
So sorry we couldn't get the piece on-the-air before the final race of the year. I ended up taking in a stray dog and had to get my place ready for rentals last week so things just got too nuts.
I talked with my boss earlier this week and the piece is now set to air this Wednesday during the 5:30 p.m. newscast. So set your DVR or Tivo!
Hope all is well.
Kevin-
carplace 09-24-2011, 07:48 AM Just one more week 'til the blast that is the NIRCSS!
Final round of the four-race series is next Saturday October 1st at Stateline. As usual, there will be plaques for this round for TQ and 1,2,3 in each class. There are several hotly contested classes that will be decided by this final race. We'll be having a banquet October 22nd where trophies will be awarded for the top three in each class. We will also have door prize drawings, a drawing for our volunteer marshal prize and lots of fun.
This is likely the last "big" race of the outdoor season for most. Come on out to Stateline, Kevin, Brad and the gang put on a great show!
See you trackside next weekend
carplace 09-24-2011, 12:53 PM Anybody want a ride to Gobles in the morning? If it's not r*****g Austin and I will be going up to represent Granger Raceway. I have a small generator for power to share.

hunternaf 09-27-2011, 05:39 PM I just hope mother nature gets it out of her system before saturday, there is always enough time between rounds to make adjustments to the esc or shocks. If you are not fixing broken parts!!! (should get mine out of the toyota and assess the damages from the last race at granger)
hunternaf 09-27-2011, 08:50 PM Not bad just lack of maintainence, lost the lower steering knuckle bolt. Back together now for that os motor assembly for the stadium truck, Thanks for the cylinder pinch Randy
carplace 09-27-2011, 09:07 PM Hey guys, set your dvr's or recorders for the 5:30 pm news slot tomorrow - we're finally going to be on WNDU!
Also, I need some help. If anyone has the ability to record the spot in a format that we can get to the computer for youtube and to post on our website it would be much appreciated.
I hope to see everyone at Stateline Saturday for the NIRCSS round 4
carplace 10-01-2011, 07:20 AM Waaahhhooooo, we are gone racing:thumbsup:
NIRCSS round 4 baby, see you at Stateline :thumbsup:
carplace 10-01-2011, 09:25 PM Wow, tough start to the day-lots of very good racing-great finish with lots of hardware to go around
What a fitting end to the first of many Northern Indiana RC Super Series' to come. This has been a pleasure to organize for sure. We've met many racers and made friends out of most of them. I'd like to extend a huge thanks to Kevin and all of the Stateline gang for being such great hosts, to all of our racers for spending your play time and money with us and to all of the friends and sponsors of the NIRCSS. We truly appreciate everyone's participation and efforts.
We will be having a banquet in Granger, Indiana on October 22nd. I'll announce the time and location this coming week and ask everyone to rsvp so we can make sure to have enough room. Any racer that had at least one paid entry to an NIRCSS race is eligible (along with their family). You will be on your own for dinner but we will be giving away the trophies along with some great door prizes.
Thanks again for the great innaugural season. Hopefully we will see you all soon
ToddFalkowski 10-01-2011, 09:54 PM Did anyone get the WNDU spot recorded? Or can Kevin get us a copy of it? (I missed it, lol)
hunternaf 10-01-2011, 10:53 PM Yea we all missed it, Maybe the execs at WNDU did not think it was a good enough story. I have emailed fox 28, talked to Kevin and a reporter from WSBT, Kevin was the only one to at least show up. Maybe we can get him to run the story next spring as the season is just starting

hunternaf 10-02-2011, 08:54 PM can you believe showing up is that important, I am #1 in stadium truck and never won a race. Hey Mike are you going to tally the granger points for the year?
carplace 10-02-2011, 09:14 PM can you believe showing up is that important, I am #1 in stadium truck and never won a race. Hey Mike are you going to tally the granger points for the year?
Yes, it IS that important. There were several trophies up for grabs yesterday and several were decided by the last race.
We didn't tally points for our club races this year but stay tuned. Next years plans include a local points series for our club races (as of right now it will be 10 races with two drops) with plaques for the season's winners.
On another note, plans are already in progress for next years NIRCSS and some other special/trophy races.
hunternaf 10-02-2011, 09:31 PM I'm just glad I had the oppertunity to represent Granger Offroad and hope I didn't cast a bad light on the type of people that race at Granger. I had a blast and was very happy with my truck even though I got lapped by all but 2 trucks in short coarse A-main. I sure wish I had been driving Devins truck for the A-main, after the races were done I tried out his truck and man I want his crew chief.

carplace 10-08-2011, 10:16 AM OK, here's the last chance for a blast at Granger Raceway this season!
It looks like the weather will be perfect for a fall race and the track is still in decent shape. How does $10 first entry, $5 any entry after that and the food is on me sound?
I just need to know how many will show up to be sure we can have a decent race.
Add your name if you are in for next Saturday (the 15th) and if enough committ, we'll race
MotoDave427 10-08-2011, 04:41 PM I'm in, we met at the tract today, Dave

We don't have any spares to sell. Watch rc tech and ebay but be ready to spend a couple thousand and to move quickly, they don't last long.
Good luck

10th scale buggy is typically mod = open motor, 8.5 or 10.5 work well for mod. If Kevin, Jeff, Tyler and Dave all come down there might be a couple more show up too :)
Heck, you guys might even get me to get mine back out!

Get the chassis fixed, we have speedo's - what kind do you need, I have a max pro barely used that I'd sell cheap.

well how much do you want for it and would you have a spot for me to plug in or do I need my generator so that I can get it soldered real fast? Also does anyone have a decent 10.5 motor for sale all I have after looking around is a 5.5 that was in my truck that would just be too much overkill and the 17.5 that I had in it from from short course truck.

Hows $80? It was in my 4x4 SC for about three races. We have plenty of pit power all around the track, just bring an extension cord and your normal outdoor pit stuff (table, chairs, canopy etc.). I don't think I have a 10.5 around but I'll take a look. Actually a 13.5 wouldn't be too bad on our track either. Maybe a bit short in a spot or too but much more controllable everywhere else.
