What kind of changes do you need to invest in to run a short coarse truck indoor and on carpet? Tires, gearing, ect ect. not that I can be there tomorrow but maybe next week, any open practice days?

Hey Gary, offroad practice is Monday evening 5-9:00. Racing is Friday evening, track opens at 5:00 race at 7:00. Remove the gear cover
(runs cooler) - drop pinion 3-4 teeth - Austin is running the tires that he had on outside (Calibers and Bow-ties) and his truck is working very well.

Oh, and clean the dirt off - the track just spent several $$$ on new ozite carpet.

How bout foam tires on SC?

No foams allowed, only rubber and designed for the SC's. Austin still has the Calibers on the rear and bow-ties on the front that he was running outside.

Offroad practice is monday evening 5-9:00. Come on up, we'll be there!

Do you soak them or just use it before you race? I have heard of something like it but with WD-40.

To chime in:

ON the SC trucks, Yes, the rubber SC tires. IMO, I don't think I'd be running the supersoft tires, but that's me. You can treat the tires as well. Simple Green will make the tires tacky, as will other products such as on-road tire traction. Learning from the VTA cars, if you don't have to use a traction compound, you're better off not. The traction compounds we use swell the tires over time. Simple green won't. Whatever you use on the tires, we do ask that you wipe them off fully.

Thanks Mike for the note on the cleanliness. Please take the time and clean the truck off. We also have a rule (because of the new carpet): Make sure all the screws are tight on the chassis (particularly the front bulkheads) then apply a layer of duct tape (or something thick like that) over the center of the chassis from front to rear to cover all the screws. This will help save the carpet from cuts and tears. Ozite carpeting runs in the thousands of dollars (wish we were joking), so we're a little overprotective of it, lol...

I was just kiddin on the foams. But, I know exactly what Todd means on the carpet. I raced carpet oval for years. What time does racing start Friday? Kids have to bowl Friday but, may try to bring them up to race.

Hey Randy. MRCR opens at 5:00, racing at 7:00. Last week we actually ran 3 q's and a main which was cool. Come on up, we'll se you friday!

thats all up to you. when i had a sc, i soaked them about 2-4 races before mine and just let it sit there on a stand. make sure all 4 tires are off the table. when your race is up, run a 3-6 laps so the tires soften up and get "warmed" up. you will notice that right off the bat the truck will not want to accelerate or turn when you want to. so just be careful when you run your practice laps. i do this on my stadium and buggy and when i race sc. i notice a big traction difference. even more with acual traction compound

This saturday at 4pm I have a potluck dinner at my place 8833 e Chicago New Carlisle In. 46552. The dinner does kind of have a theme of wild game foods and we have venison chile, italian venison, bbq venison, mulled cider over the outdoor furnaces provided by my babes and I, another coworker brings rabbit or squirrel and there is a possibility of boiled salmon (no bbq woodchuck or snapping turtle stew this year:freak:, sorry I did not have any in the freezer). My track will be available and I will run a couple of extension cords for anyone into this type of dinner, bring a dish to pass (does not have to be wild game this year) and tableware. Thanks Mike for allowing me to post this to the friends I have met this year. Gary

Hey Randy. Glad to hear that you guys are coming up. There is quite a bit of pit space with tables around and probably enough chairs. If you have small chairs that are easy to bring in, bring 'em along. See you tonight!

Our friends at Michiana Raceway put on a great night of Halloween racing (as usual) Friday night. It was great to see several of our outdoor racers come to play inside! I think Granger Raceway had at least 8 -10 racers representing.

Thanks to the guys at MRCR for puttin' on the show! If anyone would like to race inside on the carpet with us, that is where we are for the winter season.

What a great night of racing, sorry Dennis I did not mean to rub you off the track in the b-main. Only broke a front hub in the first heat and they had the parts in the hobby shop so I got to finish the night. Seen the largest gathering of blitzs in my whole racing career, (you guys do know they work outdoors too). Wow the the other classes look so cool my bank account will be in so much trouble and the mowing season is pretty much over guess I am going to start working on cars again, anyway great night and I am sorry for rubbing everyone but it was not on purpose nor will it be next time. Thanks for the great day of racing! Cool technical layout, competetive racing all day and it looked like Granger Raceway was well represented. I think there were at least a dozen Granger shirts on the stand and many more of our regular racers there that didn't have the colors on.

Attaboys to Ken and Aaron for putting on another successful show and to Ty in his debut announcing job :thumbsup:

Congrats to the winners and to all our racers that were enjoying another great day of racing
