It has been suggested to me that ours would be a great place to host some series races. Any ideas on series' that should come to Granger? We seem to be doing well with 10th and 8th scales, electric and nitro. Let's hear your ideas!

I want to keep this on the last page so we get some ideas.

As in change the layout? Sssshhhh..... top secret......

Actually my thoughts were to make smaller changes here and there and leave the basic layout for now. That said, we do have a trophy race next month and there just might be enough changed to be new for everyone.

Mike if you need any help at all making changes to the track you know I am available during the day unit 4ish . If you do, please call.

Cmon guys I was just starting to figure it, the track is great the way it is, just the small changes like the new roller on the s section, let more guys from the midwest try it this way then maybe a new design for next year imho

Gary, regular changes on a soft dirt track will help to keep it from getting blown out as quick.

On that front, we have a few tricks to try in the next week or two that might help minimize the blowouts. I don't mind for the track to change a little during the day, that is part of the off-road challenge. I would like to minimize the big holes and especially the extra work it takes to keep it race-able. Fortunately I have a great crew that works very hard to make it the best it can be. The good part is the awesome amount of traction to be had when the track is damp. One of the things we are going to try should help it hold moisture better as well as firm up the softest spots.

Tyler and I had a great time Saturday. Can't say enough how much we appreciate all the work the whole crew puts in. We like the track no matter if it does get rutted and rough or not. Tyler's Mugen soaked it up and begged for more.

We will be back this Saturday too for Tyler to have some more fun. I would run the ole Slash again but, I just don't race enough to justify a brushless setup and good tires to be able rub fenders with Rick,Dan,Mike, and all the other fast guys. Heck Jason Miller let me borrow his Bowties and it locked the Slash down so much, I couldn't put enough power to them to take advantage of them. Still had a blast!! Weather is looking good again for Saturday so far!!

See ya guys Saturday!!!

How's the Nitro Scene down there?

We had 7 buggies last week and one truggy that ran with the E's. Results are up on our web site: grangerraceway.com.

When you get back down here you'll see a new pit wall/ lane, the crossover was adjusted and works much better and the step jump was replaced with a pair of small tables. We are getting more nitro's every week as the word spreads about our track and program.

Come on down, you'll like the changes!

Yeah, there have been quite a few series races going on. In fact, a page or two ago I put a comment in asking about what series do racers think should come to Granger Raceway. It was in this thread so it gut buried before anyone really saw it but I think I'll put a thread in the event page to see what races should come down here.

Hopefully we'll see you guys soon.

Well, if you can get tied in with a series like the Tri-County it's always a good show. Right now there is an East and West nitro series going on where there is supposed to be a Who's Fastest race at the end. I'll see when it works best for a group to make it down and let you know. Should be soon!

Hey Gary, thanks for taking the time to talk to those folks last night. It sounds like they will be coming out next wednesday and I told them we would have a truck for them to try out. My bet is that the father and son will have trucks for the following week.

We will be fixing up the track tomorrow late afternoon/evening for anyone that is available to help.

Anyone figure out why the program did what it did last weekend? That was weird. In my 12+ yeras of racing, never seen that.

Not trying to tell ya guys what to do. But, you should get recent pictures up on the site of the drivers stand and the track layout. I have people on other sites asking about the track and trying to get us more racers. You have TONS of potential to have some really good bigger races. I want your track to be around for years to come. I have been around this for a long time and Granger Raceway could be one the best tracks around to hold great races. The key I have seen to a successful track is a track owner who takes care of his core group of racers, cares about his facility, keeps the facility clean, trys to keep layouts fresh, and doesn't try to get rich off of the track. Yes, the track has to make money, but as soon as you try to get rich off of it, the racers will disappear. The track needs to pay for itself. Not come out of the owners pocket all the time. Then the owner gets fed up. I have seen it happen. If you do what I have mention or at least attempt to, racers will come and Series races will come.

See ya guys Saturday!!!

Any constructive input is always welcome! Todd worked the system over last night for practice and thinks the bug is worked out. Something about the system saving 300,000 practice laps?!

I believe our staff is second to none in the "work with the racers" area. We are all in this hobby for the love of the game and I think it shows. There are definately some overhead concerns but Granger Raceway has never been about getting rich. As long as it pays for itself and makes enough for improvements AND we get enough racers to validate having it here, we'll be racing.

As far as pictures, I have about 800 and just need to get the time to resize them and feed them to our web site. I strongly agree that any positive exposure will only help us grow.

I think as the word gets around about our facility and program that more big races will definately want to race with us. I can think of a good 6-7 that could find a great home here.

We'll be having another great time Saturday! See you soon

I also posted them to rc universe, rc short coarse and rc tech but my sd card was too small to get all the classes this last weekend, I had posted videos to this thread but thats like preaching to the choir, I my try to borrow a better camera this weekend, any offers. I also posted the next big events on rc universe event calenders and tried to get us published on a google map for rc tracks through rc tech Gary

Yep, you have an awesome staff. Everyone puts in a ton of hard work and beleive me, it is appreciated!! That is weird about the practice laps. You have the right mindset going. Keep it up. In startup, there is more overhead. But, once you get established, the track will take care of itself and hopefully give you guys a "little" money in your pocket;) You are doing alot better than most of the "established " tracks around for racer turnout. Conde is another great person to get the word out. Both of us have been around the block a time or 2.

Yep, get those pics up on the site and you will be rockin.

Great job everyone and you will be rewarded.

Hey Gary, thanks for being a sport and coming all the way over to give us a hand. Actually, suggestions and input are welcome any time and we don't always work on fridays - it just happened that way this week. And yes, it's only fair that the guys that show up to do the work get to have the first input about changes. The track is in fantastic shape. All we need is some very minor touching up and we'll be watering it well in the morning. It's going to be another perfect day for racing!

You are very welcome! The key to the whole thing is for us all to have a good time. So far - so good.
