Since I don't feel there is nearly enough smack talking with the race only a day away....

Here goes. Sing it to the tune of "Let it Snow"

Oh the weather for tomorrow looks delightful
and the beating I put on Todd is so spiteful
and since theres just one day to go
here we go! here we go! here we go!

The whooping shows no signs of stopping
and there will be three or four lappings
the chances of defeat are low
ready to go? ready to go? ready to go?

When we finally end the night
How I'll hate driving at 5 in the morn
Todd didn't put up much of a fight
all the way home I'll be warm

Well the competition is slowly crying
and, my dears, I am still driving
But as long as you've got the guts to show
here we go! here we go! here we go!

The crew has been down here since about 6am working on the kinks that mother nature gave us. Track looks pretty good, we may be bumping start time to noon to give people extra time on the track since we just finished prepping a little bit ago (8:30)

c'mon down and sling some dirt!

Hey Gary, good videos. Just shows how good the folks at Granger Offroad are. Everyone worked together to have the track in shape for racing. Top notch in my book. Thanks for a good day of racing.

Any chance of linking them to the Granger Off Road web page for visitors to see, also maybe we out to have some more chat over there not that this is not convienent and we need to keep this thread prominently displayed. Maybe have a couple of people keep a thread going on rc universe and rc shortcoarse sites

Yeah Gary, Jerry (the scout leader and head cook) is also my website guy. He is working with Austin to teach him how to load content and work with the site. The idea will be for everyone to forward any pics, video or other content to him and he will be able to edit and load stuff for us. Hopefully we will get working on it the next couple of days.

Showtime Racing

I think most have switched to bushless/lipo as the cost of decent gear has come WAY down since they first came out.

2cell is what you'll need, 1 cell is for onroad 1/12 scales

What do they have right now? No matter, they can run pretty much whatever in the novice class (except 8th scales). Bring them out Wednesday to practice 5:00-9:00. All they can run only $5.00 per family!

There was a nice field for our first race, since then we have had two wet weekends and an SC-only trophy race. We are back to all-classes for next Saturday and expect a nice turnout.

Had a great time at the "Big Dog" race. Thanks for the fun Granger Offroad Raceway. Oh, and can't forget the Boy Scouts for fixin' the fine food all day. It was appreciated.

What does one suggest for a steering servo for my UPS, JConcepts, Pro-Line, Tekin, Novak, SC10? I know, bad NASCAR pun.

I like the futaba S9452
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=s9452

JR, airtronics KO all make good servo's. if you buy one from any of them with the specs of the futaba, you can't go wrong. Their are stronger/faster, but I would say it was overkill for a 10th stock truck. I've had the older version of this in all my stuff and have been totally satisfied (older version was S9451)

Hey racers just a reminder, Granger Raceway is back to all-classes racing this Saturday. Accuweather says SUNNY and HOT and we are expecting a great turnout! I have heard from a few guys that travel and they are looking forward to coming in to race. Open practice tomorrow night (wednesday) all you can run for only $5.00 per family! The pit lane is re-built taller and with a nice 6" ledge for the nitro starter boxes and is separated from the racing lane. Come on out to practice or even better to race on Saturday!

See Ya Trackside :thumbsup::thumbsup:

hey does anyone have a stock sc10 2.4 ghz radio system or any cheap
2.4 setup for my sons truck. i don't want to spend a ton on one for him.

acyrier
06-22-2010, 05:43 PM
I don't know of anybody who has a 2.4ghz, but I have a couple AM radio's that would fit the bill (however, your probably replacing one of those...so why go back. ;) )

If your interested, Futaba has a great starter radio that is 2.4ghz.
The quick specs are:
FEATURES: FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) eliminates frequency pins
and signal interference-pushbutton transmitter/receiver linking
with no binding plugs
R603GF receiver has a flexible coaxial antenna that is easy to
position inside model for ideal reception
One-button programming for fast and easy menu access
EEPROM memory stores and selects preset programming for up to ten
different models
One trim switch allows setting and adjusting trims without returning
to the menu
Steering dual rate strategically located on the grip close to the
trigger offers more mid-range control, crucial when cars are going
into corners
Steering/Throttle End Point Adjustment (EPA) limits servo travel for
more control and to prevent servo damage
ABS braking initiates ON and OFF pulsing for less skidding and can be
set for slow, mid, or fast pulsing
One year limited warranty through manufacturer beginning at date of
purchase
This can be had for about $105 including tax brand new.

If I hear of somebody selling any used equipment, I'll try and refer him/her to this post.

Wow, that sounds like a buy! I have a couple of JR fm's that are nice radios. They are very adjustable but you still have to deal with the frequency. If you can swing it, the one Aaron is describing sounds like a great starter radio!
