I tried to tell you that Tekin was having motor problems two months ago, my Losi product is looking better now:p

Get that thing back on the "fast track" delivery bus, on my planet - two months without an ESC/motor combo is too long to wait, I have a spare Xcelorin if u want to borrow it?

Tekin is not having motor problems like its a common thing. They have had a few failures, Jim at Tekin didnt even say it was enough of a problem that he is worried about it. BUT.....he said its more than is acceptable to him. So because he wants his products to be the best available to the public, he decided to stop shipments, fix the problem and start sending products out again next week.

And no I dont want to have anything to do with Losi again. Come to think of it, hasnt Losi had issues with every model of their ESC and motor they have released for the 1/8 scales? :wave: I would rather wait a month or two for my Tekin than send back my Losi every month for a warranty replacement. :beatdeadhorse:

Yeah I could have had the combo already, but they gave me the option to get the current one or wait for the updated one. Was my choise to wait for the update. Its all good. Summer isnt being wasted, I am running every week, just not the 1/8 scale yet. :thumbsup:

Tekin thread on RCTech has a bunch of posts and pictures of motors coming unglued on their new system. Sounds like more than a couple.

Anyway, I've searched high and low and every single ESC manufacturer for 1/8th has had some problems. Seems unfair to say one is crap and the other is good when so many are getting RMA'd. To each their own though. If they're faster and don't fall apart, I'll buy one.

I'd like to see someone sell an uber speedo with super powerful capacitors and electronics that even a dope like me can't break. I'd pay double for sure.

They'll all have the problems worked out soon, they can't afford not too.

Then every time he jumped the wind was blowing his truck all over the place. He was fishing for a setup and didnt get any bites. I got into him once in the A-Main in the tripple, we both hit it at the same time and our tires touched.

If he does show up and he is wearing shorts, make sure he has a belt with him. He is not shy, I got to see that "crack" a couple times as the pants were falling down. Oh yeah, there was that time he rubbed the damn thing against me to.......what the hell was that!?!? :thumbsup:

Hey Swint/Apple/Revo/Heff is there a national E8th scale race? Like the nitro one happening at Leisure hours? I'm thinking there should be and it should be called:
"The E Northern Nationals"

This could be an annual swint, everything in 1/8 scale is legal, including Revo's. We could start something new for the awards presentation - a apple, grain alcohol garbage/can party.

2009 Electric Nationals are June 24 - 28 in Omaha Nebraska. I just looked at the fliers for the electric and nitro, and neither of them mention 1/8th scale electric as an official class. So my guess would be, no one will be hosting a national championship for 1/8th electric.

November - December area sounds good....yes. Got to try to find a balance between the holidays and expensive road trips if people travel to the race.

Hey 7 laps isn't bad, unless the leaders laying down 11! Ooops. Sad when you think you are doing good and passing people only to find out: It was only in my own little world. How do you get lapped 4 times and not notice? Must be he's so fast you can't even reallly see him! Not fair.

Ok 1/8th scale guys, I have a battery question for you all. Im looking around at 4S LiPo packs, and I noticed that most of them that I have seen come with Deans connectors on them already. What are you guys running to connect your LiPo to the ESC? On all my 1/10th scale stuff I run bullet plugs because the LiPo's all have female bullet plug connectors built into them.

I am hesitant to run Deans plugs on a 4S LiPo. Dont the Deans plugs have enough resistance that the plug gets hot? Would it be a bad move to cut the Deans plugs off and install Female bullet plugs on it? What do you guys recommend?

Get smc packs, or 5 cell zippys. Most of us run deans with no heat issues. Swint is running 8mm bullets?

Does the Tekin automaticly sense what amount of cells the pack is, or do you need to adjust the esc some how? How about the MMM?

Where are we running this week? Need to spend some time on the Eight and 1.10th truck.

I put out an invite in the BFG thread to the electric 1/8 crowd to race at BFG this Wednesday night for half price. I know there are a couple of people in Virus who have a beef with us but I also know that there are members of Virus who don't have an issue with us.

If you race the 1/8 as a second class it will be free.
