There going to be short course racing? like the Associated SC10? I have read about these things and people seem to have fun with em. How it is compared to racing normal 2wd truck like T4's etc? The SC10 one of the better short course ones out there.. or are there better options?

I prefer a kit to build myself, looks like the ae is the only one out that does this. A 17.5 or 13.5 motor usually ran in these?

SC10 is the way to go. Kyosho is coming out with one, not sure when.
17.5 is the motor.

sc10 is the only kit as of right now.
I know that losi just released a truck and hpi's trucks on its way out.

What are the chances of still doing a land rush start with the SC class?? Maybe just the mod class even.

No its the Sphere not the SXX. The SXX is at best $220 or so.

I have a SC10 and love it. I know some people are talking about running in the open class, but not sure if that's set in stone, so before getting a motor i would wait. I have never drove a Slash but those guys seem to like them. SC trucks are a blast to drive and handle quite well, I might get a 10.5, this depends on the track at proving grounds and if enough guys do open.

Lawn Dart thinking of the moto-cross days. I have no objection to land rush starts. Hey Revo!!!! sounds like another poll. From the way it sounds the track will have plenty of room.

No dirt on Wednesday for sure. The people in the building for the track are not 100% moved out yet. Might be a day or so before the are out. When I was there we were talking about the electrical and lights for the buildings. Got some work to do there still to.

My guess is 12 - 15 foot lanes so yes there should be far more than enough room for land rush starts.

A 8.5 minimum or a 5.5 is going to be a better choice for MOD.

Bad news on the dirt, but great news for a land rush. It just seems fitting to me since they are corr trucks then they should start like corr trucks. Maybe two lines of 5 that start 5secs. apart or something.

Lawn Dart
09-28-2009, 04:21 PM
I will probably end up running mod with a 10.5. The 8.5 was soo hard to keep the wheels under the truck. Who knows with the size of the track an 8.5 might be the motor of choice.

I think I'll have to pass, because it is forward only and my 4yrs old will likely need the reverse for bombing around the yard.

Thanks though

Not a fan of the land rush starts- It always turns out the same in the first corner- The guy with the best hole shot gets a half of track lead and the marshall gets to jump onto a pile of cars and does the best he can getting them going again.
For club racing- sure do the rush starts
But for big races- please do IFMAR style.

Also- Will someone bring a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade Wed.
I need one to cut the polycarbonate.

An 8.5 might be a bit out of my league, but with big lanes like that anythings possible, just have to wait and see.

I agree, I will always start in the back... It's fun passing turtles helplessly on there backs.

I guess i have to give it another chance. The only land rush I knew was at BFG and It
always ended in horror. But the lanes at Proving grounds will be bigger so maybe it will work.

yeah buddy.. you got 5 minutes to run why fight for the first corner but it adds to the short course feel just like they do in real life

Just because the horn sounds does not mean you have to go. The smart guys wait a second or two and then just drive through the traffic and mayhem on their way to the front of the pack.

I believe we will be running 6 minute races at Proving Grounds, not 5.

We did several land rush races for the 13.5 trucks in the past and we never had huge pile ups. Maybe its just the SC drivers........
