These are the kinds of things I need to hear about. Anyone else have an issue getting 7 minutes run time on their nitro?

Don't the "big" nitro races run 30 minutes or something? That would be like 4 or 5 pit stops for fuel...

for 30 min everyone pits.... but for a 7 minute race, some would have to pit with 2 minutes to go while others can go 10 plus minutes on a tank cause there much better on tuning an engine

Speaking of running a Slash full out for 8 minutes, The Stateline Slash Enduro 30 minute oval proved we can get 15 minutes on a 2-cell battery:

I can understand if you are running a big .28 or like a 427 Mach. but if you use .21 v-spec or NOVA +plus 4 or something similar it should with a good tune get 10 plus min. of run time.....

There are a lot of factors that come into play when you are talking about fuel mileage:
* Tune of the engine
* Layout of the track
* Track surface

I know that a lot of people won't be able to make a 7 minute heat on a single tank of gas at at least one of the tracks on the schedule due to the fact that it's a sandy track surface....

What size battery did they run in the slashes??? I am using a 2500 in my buggy at the time and not sure if that would make it with the 27t I have in it.

Okay, so what do we go with for qualifying for the nitro's? Do we keep it 7 minutes, do we go with 5 minutes, do we bump it to 12 so EVERYONE has to pit once? You guys are the ones who will be racing, what do YOU want?

I would say, just go with 5 or 6 minute qualifiers. IMO the track time is more important for the mains, not for the qualifiers.

It will be a new track coming on the lakeshore this year. I will let the owner of the track introduce it when he is ready to.

Holy cow..... Bring it on...

I would have to agree with Edwin on this 6 min is plenty for qualifiers. You have to think of beginners entering the nitro life and still learning how to tune there motors and would hate to see them get upset when they can't even finish a quali when they run out of fuel for miss tuning.

My son and his partner ran a pair of worn out 2-cell 4000 Maxamps bats with no LIPO cutout (we ran all or nothing to come in second), the first literally died in the last lap before the change and they limped in for the switch, then the second finished out the race.

Those were our first two Lipos from when we made the switch from NIMs, my Son won them for taking first place as Novice in a couple races at Washtenaw two seasons ago. They just keep going like the energizer bunny...

Run electric 1.8th with nitros AM. And run electric 1.8th PM with electrics.

Could run the nitro races like triple a-main's, no qualifing. Threes 12 to 15 minute mains average it and you have your winners- done.

How would you start?

I like that idea, just like they do in MX! Maybe have one qualifier for gate/grid position and then 2 or 3 motos. The only problem you have then is bumping, which would not be possible....

Special races. When you have off work on Saturday, or can get out early head out for the Sat night racing. It'll be worth it.

Actuly I like this schecule and think its rather smart. Does not conflict with the other track and back in its day, Rivertown would pull in 90+ racers to run electric stadium with a 6pm Saturday start.

Lots of good ideas. This is why I wanted to start on this early, so by spring when we start the series everything is in place and we can go racing without have an issues yet to be resolved. :thumbsup:

Also most RTR's if your looking for newbies to race come with big blocks that barely make 5 min's. If someone helps fuel them right before the start should make 6 min.
