With that Novak you have to run 2 2-cell (7.4v) packs. In your example that would give you 14.8v and 5000mAh. Your ESC can not use my 4-cell packs.

It showed me how to jump the wires to run a 4 cell, If the price is right it will run 4 cells

The HV Pro ESC can accommodate 6-14 Ni-Cd/Ni-MH cells (7.2-16.8 volts) or 2S-4S Li-Po and can be wired for dual or single battery packs. This is the only thing I saw while reading it.

thank you very much for your assistance.

Sounds like the wire jump is to run 2 pack in parallel which is still 7.4v, series equals 14.8v (Positive from one battery into the Negative of the other battery).

the novak can run a 4s. you have to short from battery 1- to battery 1+ on the esc and you have use a seperate receiver battery pack because when having a single battery hooked up above 8.4 v you have limited output coming from the b.e.c. cuircit.

kra2y
07-27-2009, 10:19 PM
you might as well run two packs for about the same price as a 4s single anyway and not mess with a receiver pack. just make sure the packs are equal in size and performance.

Steve and I will more then likely be there. Anything you can put hole shots on your pretty much set. But i dunno about the 1/8 scale. I don't own one yet.

But there is always trucks, some times buggys, and a pretty good 1/8 crowd as of late. I know champ wont be there with his, but come out anyway. The more the better.

Holeshots are your best bet, Panther stinger I think it is....Champ runs one of the Panther tires with good success, cant remember which one it is though. 13.5 truck will have a large class there for sure. 1/8th scale there are always 4 - 6 of racing to. Not a whole lot of buggy as of late though. We can bring them with just in case enough show though.

Bring twitch out to run also. Heffae.....you scared because you talked smack about E or are you going to show up to?

Ah Revo my good Smack buddy, here's the bible on the only two things that HEFFAE is scared of:

(1) Flying, especially if E is flying the plane.
(2) Water skiing in deep water (which is pretty much the same thing as flying)

Everything else is a challenge but only if worth the effort so to answer your question - NO, there's no challenge for me to go Wednesday. Plus my wife told me to meet them in Traverse City Wednesday. OK, they're three things I'm scared of including my wife.

You guys have fun, I'll be back Friday night to get stuff ready for Losi Duck's shindig on Sat.

Items that need covering: These are the complete task from set up to tear down, I will not have too much time to over see these tasks. They just need to be done.

1. Banners set up prior to Sat AM. Sign at road.
2. Marshal positions clearly marked.
3. Post race tables to set cars on.
4. PA system in place and working.
5. Someone to print and pass out registration forms, take $. This needs to be done AWAY from computer to ensure prompt start time.
6. 1st - 5th drawings, and prize drawings (tickets at registration)
7. Photos and podium photos.
8. Video
9. Dedicated watering crew. We'll set up a set schedule and only water at those times. Need 6 guys!

Please PM me if you are able to do these and I'll explain the specific details I we would like covered.

Okay, so I will admit this is not a new class, but since no one in West Michigan is racing it on a constant basis I think it qualifies as new. There is a bunch of 2WD buggies out there that no one is racing. I have had this conversation with several people and everyone I have spoken to have all said this sounds like a ton of fun, so here goes.

I would like to start up a class of 17.5 Stock 2WD Buggies that we can get 10 - 20 (or more) of out to race with each week. As we all know, the 17.5 is not a real fast motor, but that's part of the idea here. By all the buggies being relatively slow, but all about the same speed, this stresses the fact that the best / cleanest driver will be the one to win each week. It will help make everyone better drivers since we will all be wheel to wheel most of the race. Tire selection, battery, gearing, setups are all reduced factors in who is going to win any given race. We could think of this as a SC class without the SC's. I know for sure of 6 - 8 people I have spoken to who will be all over this idea.

Who is in? I would like to start this up the week after the State Championships at Roman Grounds, so the week of August 10th.....we will pick a day and a track to start running this race at. Maybe move it around from track to track and make it into kind of a series (or not). Lets hear thoughts on this from anyone with a 2WD buggy, even if you don't have a 17.5 motor (I don't yet) this gives us all time to get ready to start this class up.

Virus Racing Stock Buggy Challenge!

these buggies are fun & challenging to drive.
me, my nephew, and brother, have been running these for the last 4 yrs.

but doing it a little different then what your wanting to do.
we found the fastest, badest motors we could find, and dropped them in the buggies.

this really showed who had the smoothest trigger finger, and who could set them up the best to get them hooked up. (well as best as possible) :)

they were like driving top fuel dragsters on dirt. :)
we had a blast!

have fun, hope it works out.
