ROAR wont be that nice to anyone. They will make 17.5 Stock, and 13.5 and bigger will be mod. So if your going to go 13.5, you might as well go 10.5 and get a little more punch out of it.

Very good point..!

I dont know about you guys, but I am so ready for this holiday crap to be over. 5 parties in the last 5 days.....didn't leave me any room to do much else, I am so full of Christmas cheer I could puke!

So on a much more joyful topic, next week its back to RC.
My 1/10 buggy is stripped down because it should be sold on Monday and in the hands of its new owner. So next week I am planning one more run on my T4 before it goes to its new owner, and my 1/8th RC8E will be coming out to play. So we need a few 1/8th scalers out to play on Wednesday!

Racing starts at 6:30PM. I normally get there between 4:00PM and 4:30PM so the doors are open at least two hours before race time.

I personally think that is best to keep things simple.
And guys who want to run in both can change a motor
and run.

I will be in stock chasing Kyle and Fred.

Let's see after the entries are entered- I bet stock will be HUGE
and mod "open" will have 4 maybe 6 SC's.

I won't be running much stock this summer. Been there and won the bowling trophy's. Time to move on and seagull another class.

Run them like the pro2, pro4 class. 2wd get a head start, then the big dogs GO!

Actually if you watch it on tv, they run in seperate races. Would be hard to have both at the same time when a couple of drivers run both classes.

Yes sir, 2wd buggy is sold and will be picked up tomorrow. New one will be here for me on Tuesday, so most likely wont be this week but next for me.

The combo from Nitrohouse is a 4.5 on 2s. I would have to say that is what most are going to set them up as.

That is the HV 4.5 550 can size motor. They run much differently than the 540 size motors.

I've been to Bark River! Pro 2 get a head start, pro 4 follow 15 seconds later!
Am I gonna have to put a 10.5 in my 4x4, not a problem. I think that traxxas esc combo is a bit much? Anyone agree?

ive been thinking about getting a slash to run in the slash spec class this summer for the MORL series, that looks like a really fun class. probably will run truck stock, SC class - hopefully 17.5, and a slash if i can pick one up. may even delve into the 4x4 SC class if it takes off.

munsonator08
12-27-2009, 05:43 PM
i never thought about that, that would actually be really fun to do, but you would need a big enough track to have a heads up start separated by maybe 10 seconds or so.

Rumor has it that Spec slash is out for the upcoming MORL series. There will still be a ROAR "spec" Sc class. Whether or not there would be an open, or mod class of SC truck is up in the air.

munsonator08
12-27-2009, 06:49 PM
hopefully they leave the SC stock class alone. i really enjoyed running in that. i think they should have the same classes as before, and then add in a class for open stuff, like the 4x4 class, and guys that want run mod motors.

I don't know why the previous thread for this event is closed, seems to make for a fragmented discussion for a single event...

However:

The Grand Rapids Press sent out a reporter / photographer to cover the event, the MLive version is posted here:

http://www.mlive.com/sports/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2009/12/remote_control_racing_more_tha.html

The HandyRacing coverage, with some of the A-Main race videos is here:

Hopefully, the rest of the videos will be available soon...

Well to help control this rumor, the MORL meeting is in Feburary and we have to date had no discussions on classes for 2010.
