2fst2c 11-01-2009, 10:07 PM Seriously now..I would like to say THANKS to E and everyone that made this happen. I had a great time! Find the right tire and setup and It'll be even better. Oh and you all need to bring your own step stool! Not fair taking it from the short guy that brought his own.
bustedpiecesrc 11-01-2009, 10:08 PM alittle off the subject but does anybody know why almost 1/8 scales are 4wd but its like pullin teeth to get people to race 1/10 scale 4wd????
i have been wanting to get a 4wd 10th buggy, had one a while back but no one ran them, i have been trying to get one but no luck for what i have for it... hey look we hit 200 pages before the weekend was up
2fst2c 11-01-2009, 10:08 PM Sweet! I got the first post on the 200th page and it was a compliment at that!

I'd race 1/10 4wd. I think there are a few here that have them.
scramblerman 11-01-2009, 10:10 PM Sweet! I got the first post on the 200th page!
YOU DA MAN:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
S. Jerusalem 11-01-2009, 10:10 PM the 1/8 scales are easy to maintain even thougth they are 4wd too
Yes. Gear diff vs. Ball diff. I would rebuild 1/10 4wd before every race day when it was a hot class. Especially the rear.
HandyRacing 11-01-2009, 10:12 PM Fragile, compared to 1/8, and maintenance intensive.
The 1/10 4WD buggy class is one of the most popular / competitive at Washtenaw these past couple years.

The A-Main vid from last year are at www.YouTube.com/HandyRacing
If memory serves me correct Chris Peterson took the points series two years ago, and Kenny Ferris last year.

A couple years ago, we used to fill three heats with 4wd. It didn't disappear overnight. Just kinda faded away. The onset of the more durable elec. 1/8 had a part in it.
scrmngchkn 11-01-2009, 10:16 PM Hey where the "Heff"? No word from him lately! He's here in spirit! Where's Heffea?

I know Champ always has his with him. Pretty sure Apple still has his. Beyond that, not sure how many locals still have one.

2fst2c 11-01-2009, 10:32 PM Sounds like a rough job. Poor guy.
HandyRacing 11-01-2009, 10:33 PM A couple years ago, we used to fill three heats with 4wd. It didn't disappear overnight. Just kinda faded away. The onset of the more durable elec. 1/8 had a part in it.
We started racing again two 1/2 years ago (at Washtenaw), after not racing anywhere for a while. Planned to run a T4 truck, then quickly switched to a Losi, XX4 Worlds (used) because the class looked so much fun and then ran the whole season (also built an electric 1/8 buggy in time to run a couple races before the winter season ended). It was our first 4WD, and known to be fast yet also a little fragile?
Then the B44 came out, it seems much more durable. Ours has taken a beating now for last winter's Washtenaw and this summer's MORL programs. Broke a lot of A-arms, but the chassis is still workable. I need to figure out how to upgrade the electronics, but that's a separate problem. If only I could get some ad $$$$ in soon.
: )
How many guys plan on running 2wd stock buggy every week? Just trying to figure out if this is a lasting class or if I should just get an eighth scale together? How many local 1/8 th E's run each week?
We have a couple dozen 2WD stock buggies that will be racing each week.
Aaron Howe 11-01-2009, 11:14 PM well.. that thread got annoying rather quickly. I'll just be watching the website for important updates and such. lol
Mike Champ 11-01-2009, 11:51 PM I always have my 4wd with me and will be running it everytime I can...
4wd requires more control than 8th scale otherwise you might break it easier, but I think they are the most fun to drive... Hope to see the class taking off soon with an awesome track like PG. It was a blast to run 4wd this weekend!
beefgravy 11-01-2009, 11:58 PM Wazzup yall..... Sorry late post... Fun times all my bros...
So, all this talk about stock buggy...is mod 2wd dead? may have to get a 17.5... Any body have a GTB they want to get rid of?
Revo, E, and CrewSaw your post about people upset about trophys and crap...dont change a thing... I cant speak for everyone, but all I needed when I came to race was fun, friends, and a cool place to race... Checked off the entire list on that one at PG......

TOYMINATOR 11-02-2009, 06:20 AM Fragile, compared to 1/8, and maintenance intensive.Got rid of my 1/10th xxx4 G+ and got E 8ight,much better. 1/10 might be alright with a 21.5 or 17.5 brushless but any more power and you will be replacing parts. I think I put over $1000 in parts in mine in 1 year upgrading and replacing broken parts. Not a Go Fast Buggy. 1/8th is awsome and Very durable. It can take a beating.
bustedpiecesrc 11-02-2009, 07:23 AM you guys might think this is dumb but, i dont see the point of running anything bigger than a 10.5 in a 10th scale offroad vehicle, they made those other motors for sedan to run on bigger asphalt track where speed is needed, theres really no offroad track around here that you would need to run any bigger motor than an 8.5 max..... i personally ran just a 10.5 and had no problem with keeping up with guys running an 8.5 and bigger... just my opinion:wave:

Okay guys, here is the deal for now. The schedule for this week looks like this:
Wednesday Nov. 04 Electric Racing starting at 6:30PM
Thursday Nov. 05 Nitro Practice starting at 6:00PM
Friday Nov. 06 Electric Practice starting at 6:00PM
Saturday Nov. 07 Nitro Points Sereis starting at 10:00AM
Saturday Nov. 07 Electric Points Series starting at 5:00PM
Racing fees will be as follows:
Standard club races $15 first class $5 each additional
Kids 16 and under $5 for all events
Practice nights $10
Points Series Races $18 first class $7 second class $5 each additional class
Yes there have been some changes to the schedule. It was also decided today that instead of having the points series on two different days, it would be much easier on all of us to host them on the same day, back to back. So for that reason, the points series will both be held on Saturdays. I will be updating the schedules and uploading them shortly.
LOSI_Duck 11-02-2009, 02:17 PM Well that counts out Duck and James for the point series race this weekend. James is in Marching Band and they made it to the State Finals and we will be Detroit at Ford Field on Saturday.:hat: Duck was really looking forward to racing it too.:(
Do they run a stock class motor in the 1/8 scale races? or is it just modified?
Do they run a stock class motor in the 1/8 scale races? or is it just modified?
I was not aware there is such a thing as an 1/8th scale stock motor?
